Not been here in quite sone time after a few changes of owner, so glad we've gone back. Had a beautiful lunch today with quality food perfectly cooked. The Beef Brisket starter with horseradish slaw was fab and the Jalapeno cheese sauce as extra for the burgers was a must. Friendly, welcoming atmosphere with great service. Would highly recommend a visit.

Had a delicious meal at the Carnock Inn. Went with family and all 3 of us enjoyed the food. The service was great and the waitress was so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

After attending an event in Dunfermline we looked for a nice place to have a meal with our family. We saw The Carnock Inn on TripAdvisor and liked the look of the menu. Wow we weren't disappointed. A wonderful choice on the menu from the traditional to fine dining! The food was well thought out and had a combination of flavours and textures which worked very well together. It was very obvious that the food was fresh and a lot of passion had been put into creating the meals by the chef. The service matched the food as all the staff were friendly and very welcoming. I'd recommend it highly to anyone in the area.

Great choice available on the menu, very fair prices. Service was excellent from start to finish and the food was outstanding. Looking forward to returning and trying something else. Anthony (the chef) clearly cares about how the food is presented and how it tastes.

We stopped here as a last-minute lunch plan and were delighted w the welcome from the staff - both waitress and chef - and delicious food (chef's steak pue, chowder and haddock & chips were all great). Good prices, too. Recommended!

Have visited here a lot over the years as it is our most local restaurant. After the hour wait for food , the food not being of the standard we have received here before and the attitude of a male staff member we won’t be back in a hurry. Such a shame as this was a great place at one time

Excellent service and superb food. My partner had steak and ale pie that he said was the best he’d even tasted. All food was lovely and the staff friendly. We had to call as couldn’t find the place and the staff were very helpful. Thoroughly recommend.

This is my local but unfortunately I don't get to it enough. I have coeliacs disease so need to make sure that I can trust where I eat too! They have fish and chips on the menu which they had said could be done gluten free but the fish would just be baked, however the lovely chef did an experiment of a chickpea flour batter and wow! So I did get my 'proper' fish and chips in the end! What fantastic customer service (I was honestly blown away as very few places would do that for you!). My friends were delighted with their meals and service too! Highly recommended and the waitress and chef were brilliant!

The food was lovely , the haggis pakoras and the soup was great, the steak pie was full of meat and flavours. The staff was very nice and friendly.

My wife and I decided to walk our dog up to the Carnock Inn recently for a lunchtime pint, and also ordered some lunch on the spur of the moment - what a great decision! She had a cheese burger that disappeared very quickly and was apparently delicious, and I had a flat iron steak dish that was nothing short of divine. Every part of the dish from veg to chips to side salad were fantastic, and the steak itself was cooked wonderfully, full of flavour as well as having the perfect texture. A sauce for the steak was provided as standard, very welcome seeing as so many places will charge 2 or 3 quid for the privilege, and it also came with a pot of the pan juices which was a nice touch. All for under £20 (this was for the steak, but the burger was well priced and quality too)! The staff were also lovely, with the chef coming through for a brief chat with us before we left. Highly recommended, we'll definitely go back for more 👍

What a lovely menu! We were spoilt fir choice but decided on the harissa chicken kebab skewers and the corn chowder for starters then we had the roast chicken with haggis and the cajun chicken burger. Amy the waitress was super friendly and professional and we'll definitely be back!

We have dined here for dinner 3 times in the last month and the food has been excellent. The steak was outstanding, the steak burger delicious and the lemon cheese cake was exceptional. We most definitely will return.

Thanks to Trip Advisor, we found this lovely Inn. Staff were excellent and very friendly. Felt very safe in these Covid times, tables well spaced out and staff sanitised after guests left. Food was excellent and very reasonably priced. If we find ourselves in this area again, we will definitely return.

Dropped in for lunch at 12.00 Quite a good menu and we settled for haddock and chips and Scampi and chips . Served in about 5 mins the fish was beautifully tender and scampi very tasty . Its our first time here since before lockdown and were very taken with the place Friendly and helpful staff

Friendly local pub food on main menu but special board is worth looking out for as chefs are very talented. Staff are friendly and prices are very reasonable. Worth booking if going on a Friday or Saturday nigth.

Myself and my mother booked in for Christmas lunch. I grew up in the village and the current owner Ronnie, has taken an already excellent bar and restaurant to even higher standards. Ronnie and team gave us a very warm welcome and we had one of the best Christmas meals we have ever eaten. It's was a very nice touch that the chef, Anthony, came round after service to make sure everybody was satisfied with his creations. Which we were! We had a fantastically turned out range of dishes including chicken roulade, Smoked salmon, Turkey, Venison and of course Xmas pud as well as the highlight of the show which was homemade rum and raisin parfait topped with seeds and nuts with a heather honey, Lavender and mango drizzle- just fantastic. I can't recommend the Carnock inn too highly- you won't be disappointed. I've included some photos.

The food was delicious, with the whole family thoroughly enjoying every course they had. The portions were generous and reasonably priced. The restaurant has a relaxing & quaint setting with very friendly waiting staff. The service was speedy as well. A wee gem for the locals of the West Fife villages & beyond!

Had lunch today in this unassuming inn. After first five minutes knew we would enjoy the place. Staff extremely pleasant and social and meal of steak pie and sticky toffee pudding. Well it was to die for. Definitely be returning

So far I have been not impressed with many restaurants this year however, this was about to change. I have visited the carnock inn around 3 times before and each time food was delivered at a fast pace and high quality. So today with family I returned to a very welcoming staff and we were seated quickly. I ordered the fish and chips which was up to a good standard and was tasty. For dessert I ordered 2 brownies which were incredible. I would recommend both the brownies and fish and my table said the fajitas were also very good. The only two small things i have too say is that the chips on arrival were not very hot and food service was not the quickest however I will wait for a quality product and that is what I received. Overall i would highly recommend and will be back no questions asked.

Dined here last week,thoroughly enjoyed the lasagne and fish and chips ,so much that we went back again this week and had another great meal, washed down with an excellent bottle of Chilean cabernet sauvignon, service was spot on, hoping to try the specials next time as they were sold out,many thanks to you all

Me and my partner had lunch at the Carnock Inn as a last minute decision. Leaving this pub we couldn't be more pleased with our choice!The staff were very welcoming and accomodating of our requests to sit outside in the shade.The menu is not too long but they also do weekend specials.My partner had steak and ale pie and I had the special - pork chop. Both of us were really impressed by the quality of the food! It was delicious, well prepared and presented.For dessert we shared a Scottish tablet cheesecake that came with the nicest ice cream. One of the best cheesecakes I've had says it all!Great value for money, not an expensive meal but I'd top quality. Would definitely come back and highly recommend!

Our family of 3 had dinner here on 6 August.We had a great recomendation and were not let down.The Inn is comfortable, pleasantly decorated and cosy and the staff are very friendly and helpful, showing us to our table and running through the menu specials.We chose the home made steak burger, lasagne and chicken goujons.The chargrilled burgers are huge, especially when loaded with the chefs own haggis pakora and jalapeno cheese sauce. Super juicy, tasty with excellent sides of red cabbage slaw and crisp, well seasoned fries. The lasange with garlic ciabatta is also a winning dish, deep filled and bubbling on top. Chicken goujons are cut from fresh breast and coated in a superbly puffed batter, best ever our daughter said. It's great to see that the children's menu is afforded the same standard as the main menu.The desserts are in a legue of their own, a real treat.Cheesecake of the day was white chocolate and raspberry, highly praised by our waitress who did not lie! The warm chocolate brownie is surprisingly light, almost souffle like, and the salted caramel peanut butter sauce is to die for. Ice creams and sorbets are from a quality maker too.Chef came through to say hello and check if all was ok with our meals, a nice touch also.Including drinks and coffees our bill was under £60 which I consider to be excellent value considering quality, portion size and great service. We will definitely return ourseleves and would recomend a visit to others.Thank you again to all the staff!

Just a great pub meal. Steak pie unique but superb, fresh white flaky fish and chips and gorgeous lasagne. Lovely beer garden. Drinks a little pricy but food makes up for it.

Five of us ate lunch here today and all chose different meals. They were all outstanding! Many thanks to the Chef for truly delicious and well presented plates of food. The waitress was very friendly and super efficient. I would highly recommend the Carnock Inn to anyone, we'll certainly be back again.

My partner and I had a lovely Sunday lunch her today. Our first visits and we were very impressed. Professional and friendly staff and great food! Highly recommend the cauliflower and cumin soup! Roasting hot and just what we needed. All Covid precautions in place and a lovely welcoming fire to sit by. Perfect!

Came here post round of golf at Forrester parkHigh standard food and friendly service. The new management has done an amazing job to keep this institution going, feeling homely, Warm and welcoming as it always has.

Always a winner you won’t get fine dining but will get homely food which is what I love. A tad pricey at times but overall a lovely place.

Went here with friends and the meal was excellent. Steak pie is still unique and not to be missed but the star of the show for me was the duck special. Keep it up !!

An early dinner turned into a very pleasant experience. The staff were superb and the food was heart warming and very well presented. Their Sticky Toffee Pudding was the best we have tasted. We will certainly be booking our guests for lunch while touring.

This is the first time we have had a meal here since it reopened and we were not disappointed. The staff were absolutely fantastic. Our food was amazing and very well presented. We came for a trip out and stopped for lunch. What a find! The food was so fresh and the specials were particularly tasty! Service was outstanding and measures in place to feel very safe. Best kept secret! Will definitely back!!

Having been to Carnock Inn many times in the past decided to see if it was as good under new ownership. Starters were lovely but one of our party ordered fish and was later told they had run out. On ordering a rare steak when it came it was well done. Waitress said she would change it for a rare she came back and said steak was finished. As we were all nearly finished my son just had chips and salad. Desserts were fine except the chocolate brownie was to be served with cherry compote but none came. When we asked the waitress she went back to chef but didn't return to us. The owner did say that he would not charge us for drinks because of the steak fiasco. The staff were all very pleasant.

Not bad food but service not there thanks. Heard allot about here but unfortunately we were left for ages before we ordered. No check back on food and no farewell

The ambience together with great quality of food creates an experience which will be sadly missed when the present owners leave. I hope someone will pick up the baton and keep this village treasure for all to enjoy.

Great good can recommend the lasagne and the burger great service good piping got lovely atmosphere only negative it does not want you about the step up to the ladies toilet Not so good if you have a disibilty

We got a warm welcome and a table by the fire. The service and food were excellent. Great value for money and everything tasted home-made. No complaints at all.

We had our group Christmas lunch at the Carnock Inn. The staff coped fantastically with 30 of us in fine festive mood, even putting up with our singing at the end. Food and service excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

We booked fo Christmas Eve evening meal and arrived a tad early to find the Carnock Inn packed to the rafters! This didn't faze the staff in the slighest, all were friendly, helpful and effecient. We had a drink waiting for our table and watching Dougie serve behind the bar you would have thought it was anormal night, no fuss at all.Our meal was superb everyone had something different with me having the venison.We have eaten in the Inn before when visiting Fife and never once have we been dissapointed.If you have to go out of your way to visit I would suggest you do so.

My wife and I with two friends went to the Carnock Inn for lunch. We had drinks, three courses each and coffee, it was all excellent. There was a good choice on the menu and the service was friendly and quick without being rushed. Lots of other folks there and they all seemed happy.

Amazing! Always great food in here & a good atmosphere also. People are fantastic and always happy to help. Great place

There was 6 people in our party, we all had something different from the menu. Food was delicious, well presented, good portion sizes, freshly cooked. Lovely friendly service.

We are locals for 10 yrs and always loved The Carnock Inn, so we get that new owners have new styles. The food is still terrific, but just some suggestions - seat families together in front of the pub and the couples, tables with only adults in the back. Try dimmed lighting- I remember the proofs owner would dim the lights and put candles out on weekends. The last few times we’ve been the lights are so bright it’s like I’m having dinner in a clinic. Softer more chilled music. Please do not be offended, we just remember that this family pub could still have an atmosphere and now it’s like going to a chain family pub but with better food. We booked a table here for our anniversary. We were seated on a table for two in a pokey corner and after over 20 mins someone came to take our drinks order. In the meantime it was so cold I had to put my coat back on. It was some time before someone took our order and eventually after almost an hour of been there we received our meals. I ordered the venison cooked medium rare but struggled to cut it with the steak knife and chewing it was a struggle too, unfortunate to say but it was "as tough as old boots" and really not edible.

Fantastic food, I had the ribs this time, previously I had the sausage of the week, huge portion, well cooked, full of flavour. Staff are warm and friendly, highly recommended

Had a wonderful meal and drinks with a great friend and my gorgeous wife, I had the Bratwurst with Mash tatties and onion gravy it was lush, asked Elaine for some toasted soda bread to sup up the rest of the gravy, service with a smile and the staff are awesome, thnx to Dougie for serving us one of your many Single Malts, most enjoyable evening, thnx guyz.

Booked a few weeks ahead as we were camping at the knockhill circuit close by.

Went here some 5 years ago after hearing great reviews and wasn`t impressed. Heard it`s now new owners and the food was superb. All I can say is we weren`t disappointed. I saw the awards on the wall for top 100 in Scotland and best pub for 2019. I can`t argue with that. The portions were a good size but more importantly the food was cooked to perfection. As good pub food you`ll find anywhere I think. I had chicken with a stack of haggis, neeps and tatties with a pepper sauce. The carrots were nice and al-dente and not mush. Apple crumble with a proper crumble top was also perfect. It`s a 15 miles each way drive for us to get there but we will be back for sure. One of the best places around and highly recommended.

I had not been in here for many years as a result of some unsatisfactory experiences in the past. I was most impressed with the changes that have taken place under, I assume, new ownership; it is still a little bit gloomy but what really matters is that it now feels welcoming instead of giving the impression they do you a favour by letting you in as it used to do! Very pleasant young staff, slightly inexperienced, and vastly improved food compared to what I remember. It's not haute cuisine of course but it is exactly as you would hope to receive in a small local hostelry and it is head and shoulders above many similar establishments in the Dunfermline area. Maybe if, like me, you have not visited for a long time this is the time to try again.

We lived close to Carnock many years ago and called in for coffee on a visit from our home in Australia, we changed our minds and had lunch, and were so glad we did the food is far better than Pub Grub and the prices are very reasonable, we have now visited twice in a week having a total of 6 different meals of the menu not one has disappointed my wife particularly liked the gluten free option, other highlights were the little Scottish twists with the use of black pudding and haggis. This place comes in the Must visit category.

Been here a few times with my partner. He is gluten free and is able to get a great burger, which he loves. Always enjoy our meal here. Lovely spot for family lunch too. Good comfort food!

We hadn't been here for years and were really impressed with the friendly service and quality of the meals. We ordered a lot of different starters and mains and everything was piping hot & very tasty. I would recommend the baked chicken with the haggis stack! Sadly, no room for desserts (this time) but we'll be back. Our two grandsons enjoyed the kid's menu too.

Popped in on spec on a Sunday teatime. Bar was busy as the Women's Football World Cup (England v Scotland!) was on but dining room was quiet. 2 haddock and chips with a pint of East Coast and a chilled bottle of Erdinger AF. Sadly no room for pudding. Bill total 29.40. Friendly staff, efficient service. Clean toilets. Plenty of parking at rear.

Been here a few times and certainly never disappointed. Had scampi which was by far the best scampi I have ever tasted anywhere !! My dad had sausages as there is always a specialty sausage of the week. Both meals were fantastic !! We never have starters as mains are really good portions. Coffee was great too. Nice and strong even better than Costa or Starbucks. I’d definitely recommend this wee gem just outside Dunfermline

3 of my party selected a salad and I went for macaroni. We all enjoyed the food which was fresh and nicely presented. Nice atmosphere.

This is a charming old style Inn and I have been going for a number of years and have never been disappointed. The food was well presented and delicious.

From fitting us in last minute to ensuring we ordered before some of the bigger tables, the service was fantastic.

Went there, somewhat hungover I will add after a wedding locally. The place did not disappoint. The roast was generous in its size and tasted fab. Service was prompt and attentive and it was all reasonably priced

Tried the special “King Prawn Tom Yum”. The coconut broth and noodles had an amazing balance and this has knocked their steak pie in to second place (only just though)

My whole family choose thos restaurant to celebrate our father’s birthday. We were not disappointed. It was great food with a great choice and variety on the menu. All at reasonable prices. I would definitely go again and recommend.

Went for family lunch on Saturday. Place was empty and very cold, but meals and staff were excellent.

Came here for a late Sunday lunch and really enjoyed it. The place is nicely decorated and has plenty choice for both food and drink. I opted for the chicken with haggis which was cooked really well and the sauce was superb. My other half had the roast pork apso cooked well. Will be back.

Visiting from Cambridge and went to this little gem for Sunday Lunch. Service was great and the food was amazing. It's nice to have food freshly prepared and so well presented

This place is a gem well worth a visit. Our party of 15 were very well looked after and the food was delicious. In this age of choice the Carnock Inn is a good one.

Just returned from dinner at Carnock Inn. Told to sit there just now as not sure if that’s your table. Waited 10 minutes before told that was table and drink order taken. Waited 30 mins before food order. Starter took 1 hour. Another 40 minutes before main meal. Food was reasonable until dessert arrived. It was burnt. When we complained to young waitress we were told they had overbooked. We will not be back.

Visited recently with my mum and sister. I opted for the home made lasagne, my mum had her usual haddock and chips, sister steak baguette We all really enjoyed our meals, service was friendly and speedy. It’s great food and great value.

Had a table booked for 8pm, arrived just before no wait for the table. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Inside is warm and cosy. Drinks order taken right away. Menu has a good range but not too big that its overwhelming. Service was good, orders taken in good time and didn't wait long for the food. When the food came it looked fresh, hot and the portion sizes were really good. Had the garlic mushrooms on toast and my wife had the goats cheese to start, both very nice. Then had the scampi and the chicken with Haggis, neeps and Tatties. All very nice. Overall really nice place, good food and good service. Would recommend. Also free car parking available!

Lovely friendly bar. We have been numerous times for lunch and have always enjoyed it, the macaroni and steak pie are yummy and the portions are big. Just slightly disappointed as recently they have changed their draught beers and now only have boring Tennents and Stella, it was great before when they had Staropramen. Overall though highly recommend as food and service is lovely.

The service, food and drink were all outstanding. Good variety in the menu and prices are good. Only thing is it can get a bit chilly when the main door is opened. Excellent friendly staff.

Great service from very friendly staff. Lots of great choices and first place that has asked if anyone had any allergies when booking. One of our party is coeliac and list of meals provided as soon as we arrived. Mum especially loved being able to get smaller sized meal too. Will definitely recommend and hope to return again soon.

Cannot rate this pub enough, absolutely fantastic atmosphere and very welcoming. Would recommend anyone to come along and check the place out honestly you won’t be disappointed. I’m generally an anxious person and I feel right at home here and that’s saying a lot for me, this is my go to pub and will be always somewhere that holds a special place in my heart

Just had lunch her with my wife and the food was lovely I had the goats cheese which was amazing loved the compote and the prawns which were tasty although the chillies could have been slightly spicer. My wife had the haggis pakora which were amazing and the pulled pork bruschetta which was nice. The only problem was it was really cold in the restaurant, the problem being there is no door into the restaurant so every time someone opens the main door you get a blast of cold air. You really need to put a door there to keep the heat in.

Our weekly cardio exercise group arranged our Christmas lunch at the Carnock Inn for the third year running and were not disappointed. New owners, if anything, have improved the experience. Well worthy of a pub lunch with a difference if you are in the area!

Myself and my family eat here at least once a month and we can’t fault it. The quality of the food is excellent, the portions are big and the kids menu is brilliant. Another plus is they serve food all day from lunchtime!!
