Amazing. Honestly the selection we tried on holiday was all wonderful. I especially loved the coffee tower. Obviously it was all sweet, but surprisingly none of it was sickly sweet. Would definitely recommend!

Visited for the first time in September on the recommendation of a friend. The pastries (strawberry and a coffee tower) were amazing! Can also recommend the oat shortbread and the Dundee Cake. Staff were friendly and everything was displayed beautifully. We had gorgeous weather the day we were there so took our treats with us to the cathedral.

A St. Andrews institution. The 'fudge doughnuts' are legendary among graduates. Many return here just to experience them one more time. A soft and sugary doughnut with an intensely creamy custard with vanilla on the inside and topped with a delicious fudge, these are extremely delicious and decadent. The rhubarb pies are another of my favourites. If you love rhubarb, these are essential. You can't visit St. Andrews without a visit to this place. Other sweet treats and breads are available 😂

I use the Ceres Road Cupar outlet often as I live nearby. The quality of the food is excellent but not the majority of the staff. They are unenthusiactive and lack basic manners eg the words please and thank you. Also a young member of staff was sweeping the floor and then proceeded to handle cakes etc without washing his hands. On another occasion he handled cash before handling stock

Can’t believe what I have witnessed this morning, making the staff clean up the bird mess on the pavement when they are serving food inside. They have gloves and apron on but this is not their job. This is a council issue. I am certainly not comfortable buying food after they have carried out this task. Water with bird mess spraying onto their clothes and then back in the kitchen. Also why degrade your staff like that? Completely disappointed seeing this.

I’m not a donuts person or a fried foods person in general. But these fudge donuts are TO. DIE. FOR. So good. The custard in the middle isn’t some sickly-sweet vanilla pudding but a luscious creamy glob of goodness. The icing is sweet and perfectly proportioned. The pastry itself is light and doughy and perfection. So glad we stopped in, it would be a tragedy to have missed it

We went to the bakery twice in 2 days. First visit we had 4 gingerbread men which were all lovely, staff were friendly and the establishment was clean and a really pleasant feal to whole experience. Unfortunately on the second visit they let them selves down badly. We order 2 millionaires slices which were great and 2 more gingerbread men which weren't in the counter so we asked for them. The gingerbread men were stale and hard, as if they were a day old these shouldn't have been on sale. This made the whole experience poor. Overall the staff were friendly, shop was clean and appealing to eye and if it wasn't for one thing they would have got a better score.

First time anywhere in fife on our travels we have been made to feel unwelcome and as if we were an inconvenience. Staff were disinterested and honestly rather rude. Time was when F&D was just a wee bread shop but too expensive for my student budget. Returning after many years, decided to try their new café in South Street. Food was pretty grim TBH. I was surprised when my Tuna Melt ciabatta arrived within seconds of ordering - but it had been kept warm for some hours, not made to order. Tuna was just a sludge. The lentil soup - ironically was both the regular menu item and the soup of the day - was like baby food. Would not have known it was lentil unless I read it on the menu. My wife's chicken mayo salad sandwich was very gloopy and unappetising. Coffee was weak and didn't look like it was real. The tea was OK. Overall, just about what you'd expect for a typical UK café. Staff were pleasant and helpful though, and the loo was spotless. Could have been so much better with very little effort.

Fisher & Donaldson is a fifth generation Royal Warrant-holding family bakery. This establishment has been baking for over 100 Years. It’s said that Prince William and Kate Middleton went here for sweets. However, this is contested by the Northpoint, a café on North Street, where Will and Kate would go to relax between lectures and started their relationship. They would order chocolate biscuits and coffee. However, our eyes were focused on the more elaborate desserts that were sold by Fisher & Donaldson and we ordered a pudding (I guess a cream-filled doughnut) and a flump (marshmallow dessert like a Mallomar) to go. If it’s good enough for the Queen, it’s good enough for us.

Visited way back in September. Just wanted some snacks after wandering around St. Andrews. The long queue and high rating on TA persuaded me to come in. The social distancing meant that queues stretched out into the street and once inside, there is a one way system in place that also does a good job of guiding customers past the displays. I thought the available desserts were limited considering the size of the shop, but there were still enough options to choose from. We got ourselves a couple of Scottish favourites, creamed buns. All very tasty The welcome and service were frienly and efficient and the dining room light airy and spacious.

What a disappointment. I found the Bothy at Boglily on TA, loved the look of the place, the gorgeous photos of cooked food on their site and the good reviews. We are doing a road trip and this was going to be our Sunday morning treat. The car park was jammed with cars and we saw people standing in a queue to pet baby goats. Upon entering the inviting Bothy and asking a young man for a table, we were told that we couldn’t bring our dog in. Fair enough. Not every dining establishment is dog-friendly. Though I was a bit surprised as the restaurant is in a buffalo farm, there’s a petting zoo and it’s in the countryside. The sun was shining so I asked if we could order our meal and sit at the table on the deck, directly next to the door of The Bothy (see photo for proximity). The young man’s response was that they don’t offer takeaway. I queried whether a table one step from the door qualified as takeaway. It reminded me of the TV ad with the man trying to buy potatoes at a farm shop and being told that he can only pay with digital currency. People taking themselves so seriously that they don’t think of the customer experience. We had driven up from our holiday cottage at Kinghorn especially to get a nice cooked breakfast from their lovely menu, so my surprise and disappointment were apparent. I was directed to the outdoor kiosk they call the Milk Bar to order something from their limited selection. We ordered one Double Cheese Toastie with fries, a latte, an affogato milkshake ( made with buffalo milk ice cream) and a scone, which was on their menu. The two lovely servers told me that they don’t sell scones outside and I would have to go to the Bothy Café to get one. When I explained that I had been told up there that I couldn’t get anything from them takeaway, the young woman offered to go get one for me. They were both very sweet and I apologised for my previous grumpiness. Unfortunately, it wasn’t worth the trouble. The cheese toastie and fries were served in a cardboard tray. The toastie was on “cheap white bread” according to my partner. I didn’t taste it. The fries and the milkshake however, were excellent. My scone was dry, cold and crumbled into breadcrumb texture when I tried to spread some butter on it. The crumb was impossible to pick up and eat but my dog liked it. It wasn’t worth eating for me as it then began to rain and we had to head for the car. I can’t help but think that the very cheerful, welcoming and upmarket website promises more than it delivers.
