The best restaurants serving British food in Central Scotland

Heard the following remarks from various people in our group during a recent visit: "I think this is the best steak I've ever had" "This garlic bread is incredible" "Omg this burger is amazing" Apart from the food, staff were very welcoming and friendly, we had a great time. Thanks so much <3

Scrumptious seafood meal with reasonable price and great service.

Great food!! Stopped in today on our motorbike trip for much needed breakfast role, coffee and warmth and ticks all the boxes! Lovely vibe, fire on to warm us after a cool start on the bike and great coffee! Set us up for the day! Dog friendly which is a bonus.... Although can't get the dog on the bike... Will bring her next time!! 👌

Great restaurant. We had thr two course meal for 21 pounds. I had a really generous serving of mussels as a starter and the salmon fillet as the main. Overall the restaurant has a great view and ambience. Friendly staff as well and at 21 pounds you really can't complain. Only a 4 star as my Salmon was a little bland but the quality was definitely there.

Value for money with sitin as an option. Jumbo sausage is two big sausages and loads of chips too.

Oh how this place has gone downhill! Almost £35 for 2 and a half fish suppers. Stone cold scraps of chips and tiny fish, staff washing pots and pans in a handwashing sink and the fish fryer blowing his nose and not washing his hands after. We've been going here since they opened and will not be back after tonight. Very disappointed, and to make matters worse they wouldn't answer their phone when we called to complain.

Great service, great beer and a really good atmosphere

Lovely meal - delicious food (braised beef & chocolate torte). Warm and friendly staff, great atmosphere. We’ll be back next time we’re staying in Dunblane!

My wife ad I visited for lunch on Sunday 13th April. Whilst our meals were very good, the service later in the mea became rather questionable. Once I had finished my meal - hardly finished my last mouthful - a server seemed to swoop toward the table to clear the table asking 'did we enjoy that.' My wife did remark to me as the server left with our plates that she may have wished to finish her chips but the swift actions of said server barely gave us a chance to think let alone say anything. A few seconds later the server returned and deposited the bill on the table - I hadn't yet asked for it. On opening the bill it became apparent that it wasn't our bill and luckily I was able to hand it backto her as she was attending the next table. It transpired that the bill belonged to the next table who had already had the wrong meals brought to them a little earlier. Small points perhaps but we were left with the impression that some attention to detail was lacking. I accept that the vast majority of reviews are positive but this felt harried and thoughtless.

Went for valentines dinner. Great beers fabulous service and the food was fantastic with a great chpice for everyones tastes. Best pub and restraunt in Drymen

Ice cream amazing as always but it's lost the ice cream parlour feeling I loved. Hardly any tables, bar style seating, too high for my grandchildren. Missed the menu with Sundaes..trying to figure out your own sundae is tricky when there's a big queue behind you.

Este café está situado en un entorno precioso y el café es luminoso y espacioso. El personal era muy agradable, pero cuando miré el menú estaba un poco desalentados por los precios que están por encima de la media de café/restaurante experiencia. Este no es el lugar para ir de una sandwichera. . El menú es algo más complejo que la media tarifa. Yo tenía un plato de sopa, que cuesta un fiver. Bien, estaba muy bien, pero aún así era bastante caro. Sospecho que el establecimiento está tratando de efectivo en su ubicación. Aunque puede ser impresionante, no creo que justifique el precio.

Family meal out for Daughters 30th. Beautiful food and service. Staff were Friendly and helpful. A right treat. We dined from the A La Carte menu.

We have dined here before and have always had a lovely meal. However, tonight we had to wait over an hour for our food. We could see tables who came in after us getting served before us which was very disappointing, especially as we were there with our 2 children who were getting very hungry. Front of house staff were lovely and we did get a discount for the wait but we would have preferred to not have that experience.
