On Friday, March 14th, at noon, I had an exceptionally terrible experience at this restaurant. There were three of us, and we ordered dressed crab, a seafood platter, and seafood penne as our main courses, along with a large portion of mussels as a starter. To begin with, the main courses were served before the starter without our consent. But what was truly unacceptable was the quality of the seafood. Many of the mussels were not fresh, with a bitter taste or a strong unpleasant odor, making the large plate of mussels practically inedible. Similarly, the seafood platter I ordered also contained the same poor-quality mussels. On top of that, my platter included three langoustines, two of which were extremely unfresh—the heads had turned visibly black, as shown clearly in the pictures I provided, and the meat was incredibly loose, completely lacking the firmness of fresh shellfish. The oysters were very small, and the crab claws were also tiny, though fortunately, these two items were relatively fresher compared to the rest. Due to the poor quality of the seafood, we were unable to finish any of our dishes, especially the large portion of mussels, which remained almost untouched, as mentioned earlier. When I finally requested the bill, the rude waitress showed no concern whatsoever and, without asking, took away the barely touched plate of mussels. All of this happened during a non-busy period, and we were, in fact, the first customers of the day at this restaurant. When the waitress came over with the bill, I attempted to provide feedback regarding the terrible experience caused by the unfresh seafood, but the rude blonde waitress gave me no chance at all. She simply tossed—yes, tossed, not placed—the bill towards me and, before I even had the chance to look at it, immediately handed me the card machine for payment. I want to emphasize once again that all of this occurred during a non-busy period, and we were the restaurant’s first customers of the day. Ultimately, given such a dreadful experience, I did not bother to express my dissatisfaction to the staff on the spot, as it was obvious they simply did not care. Later that evening, two out of the three of us experienced varying degrees of diarrhea and discomfort. Since we had not eaten anything else after this meal, I believe this is solid proof of the restaurant’s lack of fresh seafood—or perhaps, just the lack of fresh seafood served to us.

Scrumptious seafood meal with reasonable price and great service.

Well worth the wait to get back to OBAN and visit Ee-usk. We had a wonderful time and the food was amazing as was the wine and great selection of whisky esp the jura 10 and 18 year old . Amust for every visitor to OBAN.

A nice restaurant right on the harbor! I can highly recommend the penne! Changing the seafood was also possible at no extra charge! We sat right by the window with a view of the water and the sunset :) The service was great and very accommodating 👍🏼

Disappointed, had hoped to enjoy a lovely lunch here given other reviews. In comparison to other seafood restaurants, this was very overpriced. I wouldn't mind that if it was a great meal, however the quality of the shellfish just was not good. Portions are small on some dishes and massive on others and everything seems to be drowned in condiment style sauces, with a random side of cubed turnip? Even the chips weren't good quality chips that you'd expect, to dip in or mop up sauce. After spending £45 on a 2 course lunch, with no drinks, I was still hungry. I recommend the seafood stalls at the pier instead. It's outdoors but the quality far better - and much cheaper. The service was good, though we felt a little rushed given it was not particularly busy. Wouldn't return.

Food ok, but nothing amazing. My starter came without bread and the server just casually said that 'it was missed out' - still full price for the dish on the bill. White wine was much too chilled.

We have been at all the restaurants in Oban over the years, and this is without doubt the best. Amazing view, too!

Annual trip to Eeusk for my husbands birthday. Rohit and his staff polite courteous to all customers. Our clean plates testimony to how delicious the food always is. Staff super efficient and attentive. Rohit and staff came out of the kitchen with a lit cheesecake singing happy birthday. Thank you for making our dining experience extra special. Whenever you visit Oban don't miss a wonderful dining experience.

The 3/5 are only for the very high quality of food, wine and whisky selection, the service was terrible. We were a very large and I will admit loud group but it's not acceptable to be shushed (a simple "could you be quieter? Would have been much better) or worse to be asked to start paying while still sitting and waiting for the dessert. I can apologize for the noise (maybe) but answering eventual rudeness with bad manners it's not a good idea.

Decent spot for fish & shellfish in Oban, had a good dinner, if you are there try the "Lady MacBeth"

We came here as we fancied a nice fish and chips for tea. We read reviews of other restaurants and this seemed to be one of the best reviewed. I can see why. The service was lovely. The food was incredible! It was the first time trying scallops, they didn’t disappoint. The fish and chips were lovely too, both too greasy. The salad dressing was also really flavorful, which was a pleasant surprise

This place has to be one of the best fish restaurants around. We had excellent service from Rohan and the food was first class. We will be back very soon

Lovely, cozy little restaurant. This place fulfilled my seafood cravings as an island girl from the Philippines, and I can honestly say that their seafood menu is fresh out of the sea. Our entire trip to Oban was truly amazing. Those Filipinos who have seafood cravings as long as you are from Oban. Don't let us do two. Two and come to the restaurant. Then order their seafood platter. Way char! Their food is fresh, especially mussels and oysters.

Faultless! Gorgeous little restaurant serving delicious, fresh seafood. We each opted for the seafood platter, all items were fresh and super tasty with sides of delicious crispy chips and bread rolls. Can't fault the food, service or location!

I’d give more than 5 stars if I could. The food was faultless. I had the seafood platter - incredible taste and value (£26.00!!) every bit of seafood was so fresh and even the salad was mouthwatering. The side of fries were superb as well. The service was brilliant, I heard they only opened back up yesterday and the team were on top form! One thing to take from this review - my hotel handed us an “Explore Oban” pamphlet on arrival - EE-USK isn’t mentioned, no idea why and I don’t care. If you’re like me and choose your restaurants based on real reviews and not “town/city guides” please give this place a try you will not be disappointed!

Once we arrived in Oban we treated ourselves to a slightly more sophisticated dinner in this little restaurant right on the port. Classy environment, very nice and well-kept, very kind waiters. Very good food, excellent mussels and penne with salmon. But above all, really huge portions compared to what I expected from such a place. Truly a nice experience.

You like Why did I give it a 3 star Well We arrived and couldn’t find our reservation we hurriedly looked through emails etc all the time we were treated liked fraudsters in fact the guy was quite rude Eventually found it no apology sat us at a table as if we weren’t wanted What a great start to a meal Don’t wish to over emphasise the point but at this point the night was ruined Again food was excellent other members of staff apologised on his behalf But sadly the night was ruined

Absolutely Fabulous, although it was fairly busy when we arrived and we were a bit early this was not a problem, the young man who greeted us then served us is a credit to you, nothing was to much trouble. the food was outstanding and the setting is relaxed. we were blown away by the quality of the food and will definitely return when we are next visiting Oban.

We lucked out stopping for lunch and to stretch our legs. We spotted this place only after parking in what looked like the best lot we could find. Gorgeous views of the town, ferry, and along the waterfront. Service was very kind and quick. Everything we ate was also outstanding! (Halibut, scallops, oysters, and sticky toffee pudding)

We loved the fish,it was outstanding. 👍😼some of my family members ate a lobster and they said it was quite nice . I couldn’t eat it because I am allergic to prawns but if I wasn’t,I think I would like It ……anyway , the toilet was pretty clean though it was hard to pull out the toilet paper out . We all thought the Thai fish cake was the best . Suggestions :you can make a salmon dish without the smoked part .✌️

EE USK had been specifically recommended to me, and which dishes were excellent. Despite having a dog friendly area, I was not allowed to dine with my friend from Australia and my two dogs. Shame. Long drive for a big disappointment

Lovely dinner on a rainy evening. The service was very friendly and kind. Some dishes were a little expensive. The quality of the food was generally very good.

We went for lunch on a Sunday. It wasnt busy probably because it was a miserable day in November. But the restaurant was very trendy right by the water. We had a starter and a main each. Thai fish cakes and fish and chips. Scallops then lobster. Lovely food we definitely go back.

I read that it was a good idea to make a reservation so I did just that however the restaurant wasn't too busy and arriving earlier than expected we could sit where we wanted which was great. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We had a great evening and the food did not let us down....it was amazing 🤩

If seafood is your thing, this is the best place in Oban to indulge. The food is excellent and the service is prompt and attentive.

We visited on a busy Saturday night, but the friendly staff went out of their way to fit us in and even managed to get us a window seat. The seafood was fantastic -great quality and reasonably priced. We’ll definitely return next time we’re in Oban!

I was taken out to this restaurant as a treat and what a treat it was . Absolutely perfect. We were served by a truly friendly helpful waiter. I chose the menu of the day and had the best moules I have ever had .. tasty sauce and plump mussels. This was followed by haddock with a Mornay gratin topping. All 3 of us were delighted with our choices and could not fault the food or service

The food was in general very good, fresh for sure and cooked perfectly. Certainly no complaints with the food. Informal style restaurant. Service from young girls, waitresses, was totally subpar. Seemed rushed not happy to have questions about the food. Nor did they ever come back to ask how everything was or if you needed anything else like more wine or bread. At the end one server passed and ask if we wanted dessert and when i said no, she promptly brought the check, i never ask for it. I am guessing this service behavior is either due to poor training or they are daughters of the owner, the latter i doubt. Is worth trying however there are better or equally good places in oban

Just had probably the best mussels in my life here, they arrived very quickly as well and staff were incredibly polite. Prices are also very reasonable for the quality you get! Shame I couldn't really enjoy the window view as I visited at night but one more reason to come back!

We had an excellent meal at EE-USK. I had scallops and mussels and my partner had the haddock. The food was fresh and delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive.

Starters were nice but I got the special for the main of hake with a thermidor sauce - water flooded out the fish the minute I cut into it meaning the sauce and the fish was completely tasteless and the vegetables were overcooked. For a main costing over £20 I expected much better. Didn't even finish it. Service was good though.

Wait staff was quick and attentive. Food choices had a great variety of seafood options. Prices were reasonable and our meals were delicious and plentiful! Would go back.

Maybe we just came on a bad day but this was not great at all. Ordered the Mussels and it was a layer of butter and cream. They didn't taste fresh either. All 4 of us weren't able to finish them and the scallops weren't cooked very well. Langoustine and Crab cocktail was nice. I wouldn't come back to eat and no one asked how our meal was so we paid and left.

Had a brilliant lunch today with family. Really impressed with the quality and value for money for each of our dishes... Seafood platter, Salmon trio, Dressed crab and Seafood penne. Service was not rushed and not in your face. Loved our desserts as well ... lemon cheesecake (not baked) and fruit meringue.

This was by far the BEST FOOD in all of Scotland!! We ate here 2 of our 3 nights here! So wish I could get a dinner like that again as I travel Europe. The seafood platter was my 1st choice...excellent langoustines huge tender mussels outstanding scallops. Service was impeccable. THANKYOU!

This was the BEST seafood restaurant in all of SCOTLAND! I had the seafood platter. The scallops, langoustines and mussels were huge and tender. Simply amazing and superb! Would LOVE to have a dinner like that again. We ate there 2 of our 2 days in Oban Thankyou for the experience!

Just had the most wonderful meal at EE-USK with my wife and mum for my mums 75th birthday. Staff and service excellent. Food superb. Going the extra mile to sing mum Happy Birthday really made her night. Fantastic, thank you EE-USK!

I believe that it's the best place in Oban for having seafood. Very fresh, lovely staff, great atmosphere. We were allowed to have a meal in the conservatory because of our dog, but we were very greatful with their kind service. Highly recommendable!

Superb - just a great place to eat, lovely ambience, friendly and efficient service, and excellent value. We began our meal with a delicious and large bowl of some of the finest mussels we have ever eaten ( the taste of the sea was utterly mouthwatering) followed by our favourite main meal of dressed crab, salad and chips. Accompanied by a fine glass of Chablis, a window seat, attentive and respectful service and a fine Oban evening it was pretty much a perfect meal. Thanks to all involved.

Oh yes we had fun here! Our last official night in Scotland, we had made reservations for Ee-Usk. Please make a reservation. The stand by line/area was so crowded that we could not figure out where to go to advise we had a res. That was chaotic. Once inside it took 15 -20 minutes to have our order taken which was long. Service greatly improved after this though. We were seated upstairs which was gorgeous with a view of the harbor. I had the mussel appetizer. Get that! Huge portion and the tastiest freshest mussels I have ever had. Husband for the scallops with chorizo app. He enjoyed it. For dinner I got the scallops plate and he got the plate with the selection of three fish. His plate won that round. While I enjoyed my scallops his plate was far more superior. For dessert we got the sampler. Ooh that was delightful. I don’t even remember what was on it but all of it was delicious! I don’t think we will make it back to Oban again but thanks for the memories of this wonderful meal.

EE-USK was an excellent dining experience if you enjoy the freshest seafood. I'm not absolutely sure why Google is asking me to review this place again, since I did already a couple of months ago when we visited. I can't recall exactly what we had, other than I had a wonderful fish dish and my wife had scallops. They prepared a vegan pasta dish for my vegan daughter. They had very good service. Reservations are certainly recommended. Also a beautiful view of the Oban harbor.

Found this gem of a fish restaurant on our visit to oban with caladonia travel.... Food was superb. Situated right on the harbour.. Recommend that you book a table...

My wife and I shared the seafood platter on the first morning of our honeymoon, nearly a year ago. It was a bright crisp day and flat calm, so we had a beautiful view out over the water. The platter was gorgeous, and I had a pinot which wasn't expensive but was delicious as well. Staff were very attentive and the food appeared very quickly after we'd ordered. A very special memory and sorry I forgot to review sooner. Ps: My wife never liked salmon, and the fillet she had as part of the platter was the first time she ever enjoyed it, it was that good.

Great service, food and atmosphere.

This restaurant has really fresh produce and it is a shame to see they don't manage to make it sing. It pained me to see a beautiful seabass drowning in double cream and prawns in mary rose sauce. Service was OK, but not too knowledgeable about the menu. When I asked where their cheeses came from, the waitress told me confidently: "they are all from Scotland", when even I could recognise quite a few famous French cheeses such as Morbier!

Snarky , pretentious , no atmosphere , food was ok. We felt rushed , the maître d was a snob who was rude. It was to be a lovely evening out , we didn’t even bother with dessert. A lot of money to sit in a cafeteria setting less than a foot away from other diners. I’ll pass and go to the local pub next time.

For being Scotland's sea food mecca, this was a disappointment. Crab claw and crayfish were overcooked. The mussels tasted like that. The restaurant seems nicer than it is. Choose another restaurant in Oban!

This place seems to be riding on its past glory. The food is only average, and the service lacks professionalism, with only very young staff attending to customers. The food was far below what one would expect from a restaurant displaying that many accolades on the door. I fell I made the wrong choice as I was torn between this and the Waterfront Fish House, but I only tried EE-USK, so who knows…

The food here is amazing. If you like seafood then you are in for a treat. The salmon dish that we had was quite simply divine. The staff were excellent and the service was amazing. Strongly recommend this one.

There are so many good reviews I don't really need to add anything. The dishes were amazing, scallops and the platter were highlights. Excellent value for top quality seafood. Decent wine list. The staff were courteous and efficient. A window seat looking out over the islands and fishing boats at sunset makes for a very special experience.

Absolutely delicious meal, our fish was cooked to perfection, the sauces on each dish and the mussels could have been eaten on their own. The staff were very helpful and considerate for my gluten free needs being coeliac they understood. Eating here was a pleasure. I'm sad I don't live nearby.

I had the hake special and really enjoyed it. My wife had sea bass and liked it. The view out over the harbour was great. The restaurant is off the main street but has a nicer outlook due to that. There is a great choice of seafood.

Chowder is world top 3! The service was delightful!! I would come here weekly if I lived in Oban!! Fully recommend to anyone and everyone!

I think that "wow" sums this place up! We ordered the fish platter for 2, we initially thought we would order starters but the waitress suggested the platter would be sufficient and she was correct. Every item was cooked or prepared perfectly and it will definitely be something we talk about for a long time!

This is a seafood restaurant with lovely fresh seafood. We had delicious starters and main courses. No space for desserts . Loads of choice for a person with is gluten and dairy free.

We had looked at reviews and decided to go here. We didn’t make a booking but managed to get a table luckily. The staff were amazing and helpful. The drinks and food were prompt for how busy it was. The local mussels were amazing and I had the Halibut for the main. The taste was excellent but plate to portion was a bit off, it was enough to eat but could have been a smaller plate

Visited on a relatively busy Friday evening in late September as a party of two having been recommended by our hotel and also a local friend. Sat in the conservatory (only dog friendly area) - it was pretty cold (appeared not heated, or if it was, it wasn’t doing a great job!). Most people wearing their coats, including me in 4 layers! If I’m honest, it feels like an excuse to turn more tables to serve food in this area outside of summer/warmer months as it really wasn’t warm enough to sit for more than an hour. We ordered 2 mains as we didn’t want to sit in there for long. Server informed me incorrectly on what I ordered (supposed to be hake with a cheese and breadcrumb crust, what arrived was a loose watery “Thermidor” sauce), so they had to correct and re-do the plate. Server did apologise for the mistake but my husband had finished eating by the time my food arrived. The Hake was poor quality with a vague sprinkling of breadcrumbs and fairly certain no cheese, along with a similarly loose watery sauce sat underneath, leaching out on the rest of the plate (no one wants soggy chips, put them in a pot if a plate is saucy). Salad was mostly beetroot, causing the rest of what was in the salad (onion and tomato) to taste also like beetroot. Not very tasty. Chips were of average quality. My husbands battered monkfish was fine although the tartare sauce was missing from the plate. Side of veg (peas, courgette etc) were overcooked. I fear this is an establishment that relies on its decent reputation and gets away with the standard of food served given the large tourist trade and churns out some fairly average food. Having eaten out in the local area for a few days I can compare similar meals at similar prices of significantly better quality. As a chef and food industry professional I’m pretty disappointed and wouldn’t recommend or return. I really hate leaving poor reviews but believe in sharing disappointing experiences. Do yourself a favour and search out the other excellent food spots outside of Oban.

The mussels were amazing. Everything else that we ordered paled in comparison but was still delicious. Views of the water were great. Service was good. Would definitely return.

Great food, rather terrible service. One of our party was rude to the server at the beginning of the meal, the rest of us apologized profusely, but the server continued a grudge for the remainder of our 2-hour dinner: refused to take our order, muttered obscenities under her breath at every interaction, rushed us out of the door. No grace in it at all. Too bad, because the food was quite good.

One of the most beautiful seafood restaurants I have ever been to. I do not trust any seafood, but this restaurant wins big. It is very delicious and you cannot miss it. I ordered fish and chips and salmon. The food is amazingly delicious, you cannot miss it. I charged approximately 40 pounds for two people. Book before you go, it's always crowded.

Terrible terrible experience. Don’t go here. We rang up to check we could get a table with the dog and drove over an hour to get there in good faith only to arrive to be told there were no tables available due to staffing issues. If that’s the case why tell us just an hour earlier to come over? They then promptly went on to sit a lot of other people without explaining why they were allowed to eat there and we weren’t. No apologies for giving us the wrong information and no explanation why they couldnt help us. Rude and nasty.

We enjoyed two lovely means here with Ona as our wonderful server. Try to be in her area upstairs for the wonderful service and the amazing views. Favorites were the lobster & langoustine starter and mussels for two. Reservations definitely required.

We had an excellent dinner. The menu was really good, and our fish was cooked superbly. The serving staff were not very friendly, maybe it was getting close to the end of the season. But otherwise we thought this one of the best dinners we have enjoyed in Oban.

We had a fantastic meal here, could not fault it. I had the Thai fishcakes which were delicious and the scallops which were excellent. Followed by a lovely homemade chewy meringue with fruit. My husband had the prawns for starter followed by salmon and the cheese board. We found every course delicious and the staff work really hard. Beautiful location by the coast too.

We come here most times we are on our annual trip to Oban. It isn't trying to be more than it is - a good seafood restaurant (not fancy/ frills). You are best to book - particularly during the summer season. The service is quick and very good. Our waitress was very helpful in assisting with our choices. The wine list is also paired with dishes to assist, and there is a good whiskey list. We would recommend for anyone who likes fresh fish and is in Oban. We much prefer EE-USK than the fish restaurant over on the main harbour which we went to once and will never go back.

I passed my birthday having an amazing dinner at EE-USK !! Staff super friendly and the menu superb with delicious tasty dishes. I recommend the oysters and salmon very delicious!

Always eat here when we visit Oban. Recommend the taster platter of plump, soft mussels, Thai fishcake was superb and soft smoked salmon and prawn parcels. Fish platter of the day was delicious too, also recommend battered haddock
