Our favourite place in Helensburgh. A regular for our family. We love the staff and atmosphere. Julien was very friendly and attentive. Food was good but little improvements needed to get 5 stars.

As a regular visitor, the food is generally very good. On some occasions the chips and fries can be dissapointing. It's not their flavour, just that they can be on the cool side, not piping hot! On the other hand fish dishes, steaks etc are always fresh and hot. This appears to suggest the chips and fries are sitting for a while prior to serving. Thanks to Serena for her pleasant and friendly manner.

Gary, as always is attentive, entertaining and an all round good guy. The experience of eating in the commodore is always the better for it. I Thoroughly enjoy my meal and couple of pints peroni were not bad either. A relaxed, warm and friendly atmosphere on a bitterly cold January evening. See you next time.

Went to the Commodore for a family dinner to celebrate a birthday. A varied menue with a good choice to suit both teenagers and older members of the family. Fantastic service with such friendly, lovely staff. Will certainly be back.

Serena is a fab server! Bit cold in the restaurant, only negative.

30 of us attended for a 60th birthday party. The service was great for the amount of us, Julien and the other staff members were very attentive and kept the drinks flowing. Food service was quick and there were no mistakes for the number of us. We had several young children in the mix and every staff member was very accommodating and interacted with them aswell. Which was fantastic

Upon arrival, and having a glass of wine poured for me from a bottle, that I ordered the waiter knocked the full glass of wine over me, completely soaking me from my bottom half to my feet. The waiter was fully apologetic, however this dampened our 'Christmas time' together because I was left sitting in wet clothes until i went home. I do like the Commodore as we have been going for a number of years. The wine spilt wasn't replenished, not overly happy, having spent twenty pound on a bottle for me to be wearing it. Accidents do happen, but not great customer service to be honest. I will be back to the Commodore as I do like it there, just unfortunate that I was left wearing the wine.

Visited on Christmas Eve and had such a lovely evening. We had a wonderful table next to the fire. Food was excellent, chose the festive menu. Portions size was perfect. Service was great, very attentive but not overbearing. Thank you for a lovely meal.

We came in on Christmas Eve for a little (relaxing) treat before the big Christmas Dinner. Katie served us and was fantastic - so merry and attentive! The food was perfect with us having the wellington and the turkey. Though the restaurant was busy we never felt neglected or rushed it was a fantastic atmosphere throughout. Thank You!

I had an amazing meal at The Commodore tonight! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The steak was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The chocolate brownie was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The service was top-notch, with a special shout out to Serena and Felicity! Everything came together for a truly enjoyable experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food and excellent service!

We were served by the lovely Katie. Always there when we needed her with a big smile. The commodore has a lovely layout and has the country pub atmosphere which is really nice and relaxing. The food was very good. All round a lovely visit.

Edit: the fruit machine is no longer in the bar area, thank you very much for taking my feedback on board!! Lovely pub, very nice decor inside and the staff are brilliant. The food has always been nice and a good bet for a roast. Have to say, they've put so much effort into the nice decor, then placed a massive flashy fruit machine that ruins it entirely. It's gaudy and distracting and really ruins the atmosphere that they've invested so much into. It's bad enough that I'd say it definitely makes me reconsider where to go for a quiet pint, as sitting near it is pretty horrible. Move it into the hallway, or to be honest, just get rid of it.

We've just moved to the area from the states, the Commodore is my spouse and I's favorite restaurant. The food is incredible, comes out quick, and is well worth the price. Our last waiter Julien was just great, very funny, personable, and gave us great service.

Came for dinner on a Saturday, our waiter Eric was very attentive and kept our very hyper child happy too! Food amazing, restaurant lovely and clean.

They do very nice coffee. I did initially think the food was quite expensive but when the food came out, the portions were big so it was definitely worth the money. The food was really good as well. The staff are very friendly.

Great lunch out with family. Food was amazing all round, best mac and cheese I've ever had! Super cosy without being twee and not all jammed in. Staff were incredible! We were served by Eric who was welcoming and attentive without being over-bearing. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Lovely. Cosy with log fire and traditional oak beams overlooking the Gare loch. Lots of seating options and areas that can be relatively private or seat larger groups. Service was fantastic.. very friendly and professional staff, attentive but not intrusive.

Great place on cold day with real fire burning. Food choice fab and staff are always welcoming and helpful. Special wee mention for Serena who always has a big smile to greet.

Was a table of 7. Had 6 starters all ok apart from the sticky chicken which was very dry. Steaks were pretty tough (X2) but cooked as requested, gammon was over cooked and very dry. Potatoes with sea bass were raw in the middle. Should have complained at the time but awkward when you have taken guests for a meal. The service on the other hand was impeccable, with good banter and very attentive. (I forget the gents name but was from paris) 3 stars is probably generous for the food as lots of choice in helensburgh, but the waiter made the night.

I was in on sunday & served by Eric, i enjoyed roast beef followed chocolate brownie for dessert. Eric was fantastic at his job very friendly & welcoming & also kept ours kids entertained during our visit, look forward to returning.

1st time here and would definitely come again. Had a spectacular lunch of steak pie and lamb shank. Bother where Incredible. Service was also excellent, we where served by Katie who made us feel so welcomed and offers brilliant service. Ensuring everything was ok during our visit even when the place was very busy.

I come to Helensburgh a couple of times a year to visit my mother who loves the commodore, we had an excellent meal there this time I had the belly pork and mum had the sea bass . The girl that served us was serina who was friendly and made sure we had everything we wanted.
