Metro Centre, Gateshead. 16324. Just had a massive vanilla cone with raspberry sauce, for £3.45. Yep, £3.45. 5 Stars

Booked Sunday Carvery here due to the excellent reviews on Facebook - to say we were disappointed is an understatement. Can say it is the worst meal we have had out and won't be back. Starters - choice of Soup or Smoked Salmon, you could hardly call it soup - beef broth but more like stock with small pieces of hard carrot thrown in. Smoked Salmon was ok, however, it was didn't come straight from kitchen sitting out on table next to soup where you helped yourself. Carvery - Couldn't fault the turkey, gammon or cauliflower cheese. Beef was like leather. Roast potatoes drowned in fat. Broccoli was sitting in water, carrots not up to much either. Dessert - Mince Pies with cold brandy sauce, these were sitting on the bar where everyone could breath over them whilst paying there bill or cheesecake, Didn't look home made.

Drinks in the cosy bar with a log fire before a delicious Sunday lunch with friends. The food was amazing and beautifully presented. We really enjoyed the pulled pork tacos and tempura black pudding with apple sauce starters followed by chicken schnitzel and crab risotto with crispy skin sea bass. Really interesting menu, the service was great and the prices were reasonable. It was our first visit but we will definitely be back soon.

First time visit since new owners and refurbishment. We all very much enjoyed the experience. The food was very good, with an interesting menu, the service was good, with a couple of young staff doing very well and the price was surprisingly modest. The place has been refurbished to a high standard and provides a very pleasant environment, with good spacing between tables to allow easy conversation

It pains me to write this review as I had high expectations. This was a 90th Birthday meal for my mother who had fond memories of lands of loyal. On arrival we were not welcomed we took ourselves in and sat in the cosy lounge. A young auburn haired lady came up to our party and said "do you want a drink !" Very abruptly and without the hint of a smile like we were all a bother to her. Drinks arrived with the food Menus and then around 3 minutes they came back to take the order we asked for more time which was answered with a tut! Anyhow ordered our meal and were taken through to dining room no water offered we had to ask. No wine list had to ask. No drinks offered with our meal had to ask. Then some of our party were still eating their starter when the waiters removed them to bring the main course shocking! A rest between courses would have been nice. There was a shortage of wine glasses had to ask again! Dishes were removed from the table while some people were still eating. It really was like Faulty Towers ,staff did not appear to have been trained in customer service. Lastly we relaxed back in the lounge and ordered more wine, which arrived warm ! Asked the waitress for a cold bottle to which she replied they had none but would put the bottle in the freezer!!! This was meant to be a memorable experience for my mothers 90th, we did complain and asked to speak to a manager but was told they were not in the hotel that night there was no management! Considering this was costly as taxis from Dundee and back and mediocre food was very disappointing

A very friendly establishment selling food and drinks at competitive prices. Chef and manager will often go out of their way to ensure your complete enjoyment. Cannot fault the place.

Attended their Hogmanay dinner and dance. Champagne and canapes to start before being following a piper playing well known Scottish tunes into a restaurant with a large dance area and a band set up in one corner. The service was very good given almost 100 people attending. Each course was served well in under 3 hours leaving plenty of time for dancing up to and beyond the bells into 2025. Had to park round the back of the hotel in golf parking as it was so busy. Food was very enjoyable as was the band. Great start to the year.

Disappointing coffee and scone. Went in for a wee break en route further south. Coffee was bitter and watery. Scone edible but not the freshest.
