Disappointing coffee and scone. Went in for a wee break en route further south. Coffee was bitter and watery. Scone edible but not the freshest.

Dunno about the café but I do know about their ‘Farl’, Tower’s absolutely SUPERB soda-bread. So-superb that we’re prepared to drive 20+ miles to stock up on it - it freezes surprisingly well. Nor do we AT ALL understand the service-moans below. Over the last few months I’ve only been served by 2 people, both of whom are as helpful, quick, friendly - and nicely- jokey - as can be. What the moaners moan-about makes us wonder if maybe the problem is with the moaners rather than with Tower’s nice staff!

Nipped in with my son for a quick bite to eat! The customer service we encountered was absolutely disgraceful!! Will certainly not return!! The attitude of one particular staff member was an embarrassment to the company!

Popped in for lunch, it was a warm day and the cafe area was very hot and stuffy, there were 3 of us and we all chose sandwiches and a pot of tea for 3. I had a BLT on brown bread: the bacon was freshly cooked and still warm, all the sandwiches were well filled , it was around £12 altogether, which was good value. The shop was busy but the service was good despite training a new member of staff (lovely friendly girl). A slight complaint was that the table we were at had been cleared but not cleaned or not wiped thoroughly enough as it was a bit sticky and spotty in places, the teapot was a terrible pourer, especially for the first couple of cups, but better after that

Myself my cousin and our two young daughters who are only 3 years of age all went into the tower bakery cafe in Coupar Angus yesterday for lunch, to be met on arrival by one of the most sullen faced dour women i have ever encountered in a cafe or shop in my life one of the staff (kathy) an irish lady now i have been served before by her and she never cracks a smile and i mean (ever) and is always abrupt and blubt never a pleasantry from her but yesterday was a whole new level!! She was clearly not happy to see us arrive by her expression abd the way she kept looking over within minutes she abruptly told me quite loudly from the counter of the shop to tell the kids to be quiet as she couldn't hear the customers and not said nicely so i politely agreed even although all they were doing was playing with each other as 3 year old kids do.. she continued to glare over at us.. So we finished our lunch kids were still eating away and playing enjoying there trip to the cafe myself and my cousin were having a cup of tea when (kathy) came over to our table and told me in an extremely rude manner "You will have to leave after you have finished your teas as i can't stand the noise anymore " i was gob smacked as the children were doing no harm none of the customers in the cafe seemed offended by the children being there as to my knowledge it's a family establishment where children are allowed.. I was deeply offended and disgusted and won't be back i have been going to the cafe and bakery on and off for at least 10 years but no more for as long as long as the rude ignorant member of staff Kathy is working there!! So disappointed.

“It does what it says on the tin”. Good plain food and somewhere pleasant to sit. Freshly made rolls are particularly good.

As a family of five stopping for a quick lunch, we all enjoyed our visit..very busy and the lady was serving on her own due to a sick call earlier in the day. We were informed we could not have full breakfasts as she was on her own. Very clean and food was hot. Pie and chips were great,as was the baked potato. Panini were good and coffees were hot. very good value as including three cakes we were only £25. Will return again.

My wife and I popped in here, in the early afternoon, for some light refreshments after having a drive out in this direction. They have a takeaway section, but also a café area with four tables, and chairs. We opted to sit in, and I had a hot chocolate and a pineapple cake while my wife had a latte. For those interested they have a whole host of food available to takeaway or to sit in, which included soup, stovies, sausage casserole, chicken curry, macaroni, chips, mince rolls, chips & cheese, breakfast boxes, salad boxes, toasties, as well as the usual pies and sausage rolls etc. Service was okay, and we felt that the café/takeaway offered very good value for money. If out in this direction again we would certainly return.

Called in here when passing today to pick something up for lunch. Ordered some soup and asked what pies they had. The woman serving abruptly said "Hot or cold. Thats the fridge these are hot" i then asked again what pies they had to be told "these are hot" again abruptly with out telling me what they had. Will not return to a place like this to spend money.

A small town café & bakery. The counter traffic has absolute priority, so expect to sit for while until the queues die down before getting served in the café. Pros: Food was quick and clean, very little presentation. Coffee was large and good beans used, congratulations. Excellent price for hot drinks. Café area was very clean. Cons: Staff do not use tongs for bakery products.. No lock on male toilet, no hot water for washing hands, etc..

Grabbed a quick breakfast whilst waiting for the bus to go home. The Shop was understaffed and were only able to offer me a breakfast roll rather than a full cooked breakfast. The service was quick, the bacon roll tasty and the coffee tasted oka.

Called in for bacon rolls on the 1st, 23rd and 30th of April.Second Saturday the rolls were hot and freshly made ,1st and 3rd Saturday(different staff) rolls were cold and bread(they hadn't any rolls yet!!!) was stale. This used to be a good bakery but customers were coming in (at 8am)and being told they hadn't any rolls/bread etc as van hadn't arrived yet.We won't be stopping here again ,which is a shame as it was always reliable. On the last Saturday the waitress came back 3 times to ask us what we had ordered then managed to get it wrong, wake up Tower Bakery!!

I have only visited once on a quick lunch break, weather was rubbishy outside and needed something hot to eat. The menu is quite extensive but the majority of the food had been heated well before hand and was pretty stodgy or had a skin on it. Can't comment on the pies though.

My partner and I came so we could have a last meal before it closed. We arrived at 12 because we reckoned it would be busy with it being the final day. We were told the kitchen didn't open until 12.30 so as we had found a seat, opted to have a drink. We ordered food at 12.30 (pie & chips and a burger) and over an hour later it eventually arrived. Also people that came in after us got served before us. No apologies for our long wait. It is maybe a good think that it has closed now.

Was charged 3times on my card for our meal after returning back to my table and asked to re present my card 5 times as transaction had not gone through! We were a table of 4 and when our food arrived I had ordered a PLAIN half roast chicken with chips and found that the chicken was infused with lemon and herbs and was curtly told that all the their chicken dishes were lemon infused. I am allergic and therefore couldn't eat it and was then told by the shift leader that I "couldn't read a menu properly" after more ranting from her I was eventually offered fish & chips which I accepted. Another at our table ordered a mixed grill which arrived with unidentifiable items on the plate. These items were so burnt and on complaining it was taken back to the kitchen and returned with 3 complimentary sausages on top and offer of a free cookie which was declined. On moving the sausages out of the way it was found that the rest of "the grill" had been even more incinerated and was now just carbon. We then asked a refund and did without this meal! The shift leader at this time was extremely rude and very condescending to me especially and I had to get up again to get the refund on to my card. By this time I had been up from our table 6 times and used 5 different card machines. In the past I have dined and had drinks there and had no problems and this review is highly edited but this visit was a nightmare!!!! I would tell everyone to run in opposite direction. The empty tables around us were by this time not bring cleared after 1hour and 30 mins. Disgraceful!!

Quality has really dropped here. We used to love the place and it was a real destination. However went today and coffee, from an automatic machine, was terrible, cakes didn't taste fresh. Staff were really disinterested, unhelpful and rude at times. Mid service, two staff stopped serving us, started talking about their weekend plans and then after a few minutes returned to serve us. They served us dairy milk when we asked for non dairy milk. The actual shop had no music or atmosphere. It feels that since 2023 the company has really went downhill. No dogs allowed, but food left on the tables which attracts wild animals in the cafe.

I would give two stars for the food and one star for table etiquette. We were unimpressed when we sat down to a table setting of basic low-quality, stamped-out flatware with sharp edges. Three of us ordered meat (duck, pork and beef), the other fish. No alternative, appropriate knives were brought to suit the food, nor was the cutlery replaced after the starter. There were splotches of dried food debris on the underside of all the placemats, which apparently never gets wiped off when they are stacked. The food itself was okay, but portions were on the small side and overpriced for what it was, e.g. two slices of duck breast, 1" slice of sea bass, very little vegetable to accompany. The chicken liver parfait starter was good but came with only three small slices of toasted baguette and bread was £6 extra. There was an abundance of wait staff operating on high-speed settings. We had trouble understanding what kept so many staff on the run (literally) given the restaurant was not full and could have been disruptive were it a romantic dinner for two. We just watched the show. Overall, a four-star restaurant should pay more attention to detail, quality and cleanliness, if it wants to have a four-star reputation.

Last time I was here the fish and chips was really good. Afraid to say this time my wife had the fish and chips and it was cafe standard at best. I had the mac and cheese and I have to say this was the worst mac and cheese I have ever had in my life. Microwaved with what little sauce there was at the bottom of the bowl. The parmesan was probably fresh about a week ago and been sitting out since then. We won’t be bac. Pity as we are local. Staff (waiter, bar staff and receptionist) were pleasant enough though and can’t fault them at all.
