It pains me to write this review as I had high expectations. This was a 90th Birthday meal for my mother who had fond memories of lands of loyal. On arrival we were not welcomed we took ourselves in and sat in the cosy lounge. A young auburn haired lady came up to our party and said "do you want a drink !" Very abruptly and without the hint of a smile like we were all a bother to her. Drinks arrived with the food Menus and then around 3 minutes they came back to take the order we asked for more time which was answered with a tut! Anyhow ordered our meal and were taken through to dining room no water offered we had to ask. No wine list had to ask. No drinks offered with our meal had to ask. Then some of our party were still eating their starter when the waiters removed them to bring the main course shocking! A rest between courses would have been nice. There was a shortage of wine glasses had to ask again! Dishes were removed from the table while some people were still eating. It really was like Faulty Towers ,staff did not appear to have been trained in customer service. Lastly we relaxed back in the lounge and ordered more wine, which arrived warm ! Asked the waitress for a cold bottle to which she replied they had none but would put the bottle in the freezer!!! This was meant to be a memorable experience for my mothers 90th, we did complain and asked to speak to a manager but was told they were not in the hotel that night there was no management! Considering this was costly as taxis from Dundee and back and mediocre food was very disappointing

We are currently overnighting here as a treat, while staying with friends in Blairgowrie. I came here 4 years ago to my closest friend's wedding in 2020. We stayed overnight and had an absolutely perfect 2 days. The service was polite, efficient and friendly, and the scones were out-of-this-world. 4 years later I am back with the same friends and my wife, and it is still absolutely lovely. The staff are polite, professional and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble, and everyone is very helpful. The place has a really nostalgic olde worlde feel, but not in a dated or worn out way. The furnishings are beautiful, and the main lounge is so cozy and warm, especially with the roaring fire. The food and drink are very good indeed, with a wide choice of food, and an excellent whisky menu. I am not a rich man, but I felt it was all reasonably priced. The barman recommended some nice whiskies, and knew enough to make some great recommendations for me. I would recommend the Oban 14-yr old, for those who enbibe. The rooms are very nice; TV and WiFi, tea and coffee, and some have 4 poster beds. The grounds are neatly kept and pleasant to walk around. Not huge though, so if you want to walk around an enormous stately home, you might want to plan that separately. But the most amazing, is the aforementioned scones. They are absolutely incredible, and I live in Devon so I know my scones. Crunchy outer, soft and light, fresh and warm. Well, you simply have to try them. I have never had better. Come down if for no other reason than the scones.

Historic hotel in a beautiful location. Spotted a red squirrel upon arrival across from reception. The food for both dinner and breakfast was delicious with great portion sizes and an excellent selection. We enjoyed the ambience and decor of the huge lounge with many sitting areas and a large welcoming lit fire.

This was by far the best meal we had during our time in Scotland. The hotel is beautifully decorated. It was so nice to sit by the fire and enjoy a cocktail while we waited for our table. The service and food were stellar! After dinner my daughter and I started walking back to our hotel in the rain, when a car pulled up. It was the woman who took our order at the restaurant. She gave us a ride to our hotel. As we talked, we learned that she owns the Lands of Loyal hotel. What a beautiful soul.

We stayed over at the hotel on a Sunday and had dinner within the restaurant. The hotel staff were fantastic (Blake deserves special recognition - thank you!), and our room was well equipped, clean and comfortable. The hotel is located centrally so it’s easy for access to local amenities. The food in the restaurant was excellent and great value. The place was buzzing so we were so lucky to have booked in advance. The locals clearly enjoy the restaurant and made for a wonderful atmosphere. I highly recommend this place to anyone for meals, drinks and stays.

In town centre parking all around.Served quickly and friendly. Nice menu we both opted for the steak pie. Which didn’t disappoint tasted delicious and good portion size. We even greater ourselves to pudding - sticky toffee to be exact served with ice cream - absolutely delicious.£25 for 2 x 2 courses and soft drinks good value.Defo recommend.

The location, the restaurant, the staff and the food are all excellent. My partner and I had a truly wonderful Sunday lunch and each dish (cheese souffle, John Dory and blueberry pana cotta) worthy of 10 out of 10. scores. My only concern is that the 25% increase in the price may deter future customers.
