Strathmore Golf Centre Restaurant in Perth & Kinross

strathmore Me and my family were in for a meal at the strathmore yesterday, we don’t come in often however as it was Easter weekend we treated ourselves to the carvery. The meal itself was amazing as usual, and the service along with it , however we were seated a couple of tables away from the bar, which meant we overheard the staff communicating with each other in which my wife and I were appalled with the way that the younger ones were spoken to by the adult staff. Thinking back now I wish I had made a complaint when we had went to pay. Now I completely am one to understand busy days and the stress that comes along with them especially in a workplace however this was unacceptable. This also made the experience an unenjoyable one for us. Hate to be the one to leave a bad review especially on a restaurant so popular however I felt this needed to be said.

Soup and sandwich lunch for a work event. Superb. Staff went out of their way to accommodate everyone. Great price and food was delicious. One comment re turkey broth "Just like my mums. This is delicious " Couldn't fault in any way. Thank you.

The food as ever was excellent & an amazing cheesecake to finish with. However, playing golf there has become expensive & over rated. It was in good condition but if you're looking for value for money Alyth is a better course & usually cheaper. Worst thing about Strathmore is they don't give out the wi-fi details as it stops the card machine working! People from all over the world come to Strathmore & you can not give this out as an excuse. We want to keep in touch with what is happening in the world & friends & family & considering your revenue from golf & food you can surely get a better system. It does matter to people so don't just ignore it.

Very disapointing,been a couple of times before and it was good however seems to have went down hill,carvery was poor quality and was not even hot and this was 4 in the afternoon!,also over priced compared to similar restaurants ,had much better closer to home and paid a good bit less.

Absolutely terrible , staff didn’t have a clue , orders all wrong , waited for ages for food , then when it came it was wrong. We complained a few times , they said they were busy , no , they served everyone else first then dealt with us . They gave us 50% off but I’m sorry staff need training , and don’t take reservations if you can’t deal with it . By the time I got my meal I couldn’t eat it as I was that mad .

Nice meal of fish and chips, it is the only meal I have ever had there as so good. Very quick service and friendly staff.

We have been many times - most recently being New Years Day 2023 and it didn't disappoint. Our party (5 adults) all opted for the carvery. Honestly the best carvery by a country mile. The roast beef just melts in the mouth. Can't wait to come back. Keep up the good work !

Have been going for a number of years now and really can't fault it. The service is very good. The food excellent. Specials board never disappoints Good ambience in the restaurant. There's a buzz about the place. Highly recommend.

we were a party of around 25 people, on 1st January 2023.......some were having the Carvery, others from the main menu. our table of 4 had starters which were amazing.....the attention to detail was just fabulous, well done whoever's in charge doing them. Mains .....we had steak pie, fish, pork belly and macaroni..... again, you couldn't fault the food.......delicious, hot and well presented puddings were fudge cake and banana pavlova......perfection.....very tasty, very well presented, well done to staff that made these special. staff serving were really busy but continued to smile and make us feel welcome. top marks to the Chef and staff there, it really made a special day very special thanks so much....keep up the good work guys, it really does matter....and it's much appreciated.... xxxx

Yet another fantastic meal cooked by chef Piotr. I had Grilled Haloumi for starter followed by Pork Belly. It was absolutely delicious. Jack had Turkey with all the trimmings followed by Christmas Pud, which he said was also delicious. Highly recommend the Strathmore for good food and friendly service.

A game of golf followed by a huge quality carvery, food was superb and good value for money Well done !! Make no wonder it was full .. make sure you book a table

Dinner was poor quality, dated decor and food overpriced, service was OK. My fish was frozen, not fresh and overcooked in batter, my wifes lamb looked like it came out of a gravy bag and was not good, had it not been for our guests, I would have left. I wont return.

What delicious food! We ate here twice during our week in the area, and would have gone again for sure. Good variety from the usual, well-cooked, well-presented, great service.

I have been here a few times now the first time I had the steak which was very very nice cooked to perfection. I was told at the time to have the carvery. So I had the carvery the next few times and I have never looked back Outstanding choice of meats, stuffing Yorkshire puddings all there choice of two gravies and huge selection of vegetables with excellent roast potatoes This is a must if you are in area on Sunday for a roast/carvery.

Exceptional value for money, in particular the Sunday carvery. we have eaten many times at Strathmore during golf breaks and never disappoints. Worth booking to be on safe side.

Had a delicious lunch, I had venison casserole with mash and red cabbage followed by sticky toffee pudding everything perfect. A cosy atmosphere and yet plenty room between tables. The waitress Fiona was attentive and polite.

Popped here for dinner as a recommended place. Had a nice and relatively cheap dinner for a family of four. Food was standard English fare but all cooked on site rather than reheated like some other places. Felt a bit parochial if anything.

This venue was highly recommended to us whilst on a short weekend stay in Blairgowrie. The menu was substantial and portions were huge and very much enjoyed. The staff were lovely and we were made most welcome.

Reasonable priced until you all want steak, soon rack up the bill with drinks, abidance could be loads better ..Waitress dropped a dirty knife on and stained the back of my shiry, oh sorry she said and gave me a napkin which spread the food, and never offered me any kind of compensation. Kind of laughed it off, So SADLY I CANT GO BACK as having been in the food trade know how to treat customers and would at least offer them a free meal in the future, had to bin my Ben Sherman shirt as stain no come out sadly.

Visited last sunday. Couldn't really wait as they finally decided to restart their amazing carvery, so after 10 months of waiting (yes, 10 moths ago they had it last time) we were rushing to book our table for sunday lunch and OMG! What a brilliant decission it was. Carvery as great as it always was. Selection of beef, turkey and gammon, as always, cooked perfectly. Great selection of veg too. Also they managed to comply very well with all this covid regulations too. Restricted number of people in the carvery unit, hand sanitisers all over the place and carvery meat and veg served by member of staff. Well.. Hope they will keep doing it every Sunday as they used to. It's allways handy to have is "just behind the corner"

We visited this lovely restaurant on our wedding anniversary , accompanied by our teenage son ater he finished two long rounds of golf . This was our first visit and everything was top drawer . The food was beautifully cooked by Peter and presented perfectly . Fiona our server was charming with a most helpful and professional approach to all the guests . We will certainly return to this beautiful , most welcoming Golf Club and Restaurant and highly recommend a visit .

Went her for my husbands 60th birthday meal with our 2 friends. Well where do I start?? The meal was absolutely delicious!!! The toffee fudge cake to die for!!!! The staff were so attentive and friendly!! Took a birthday cake and the staff brought it out at the right time and sang happy birthday to him. We left half the cake for the staff and they were delighted!!! Such a lovely cosy atmosphere and the staff couldn’t do enough for you. We’re from Glasgow and are staying locally for a few days but would easily drive the 90 minutes just for the meal. Thank you to all the staff.....

Been here many times before for lunches, dinners and carveries and it’s always been very good but tonight my wife and I had a different experience. Waiter stood over our table impatiently even though I’d told him I hadn’t yet decided. Had Stornaway black pudding starter I’ve had a few times before but today it was overcooked, had lasagne as a main which was no better than bland frozen microwaved rubbish, even though I’d left more than half the waitress never asked if anything was wrong. I told her I wasn’t happy but she wasn’t remotely interested. Was always one of my favourite places but after today’s visit 25/08/20 I don’t know if I’ll be back. Terrible food and worse service.

Great homely food, big menu selection. Attentive service all socialist distanced. Good cold drinks at bar too.

Had a meal here last night. Food was amazing. We come here a lot but last night we realised how much we missed it. Social distancing and Covid regulations adhered too. Staff wore masks and respected distancing. Felt safe and comfortable knowing everything was and looked fresh and clean. Well Done to all can’t wait to come back.

Fantastic value and delicious lunch ... couldn’t choose between the roast beef, ham or turkey ... yorkshire puddings excellent, as are choice of vegetables, gravy and all trimmings ... Service excellent as usual. Thank you!

We were invited to the Strathmore by friends who live locally. We were told it was an amazing carvery, but it has to be seen to be believed. It’s amazing. The meat choice was turkey, beef or gammon. I chose the beef and it was cooked to perfection. Choosing from FOURTEEN different vegetables meant walking back with a plate piled high but it was so good!

Steak night tonight, which we attend regularly. From being greeted and taken to table, to drinks and food order being taken, the staff are so attentive and very professional and helpful. We all have our steaks cooked different and every time they are always cooked to perfection the presentation of the desserts are fab. Thank you, yet again, for an awesome meal and we will be back again soon

We booked a meal for twelve at two hours notice. The staff could not have been more helpful and the food arrived simultaneously- piping hot and delicious despite us ordering a wide range of dishes. Strathmore Golf Centre Restaurant never disappoints. Well done to all the staff.

On the Sunday before Christmas, this year, we decided on The Strathmore Golf Club for a shot at their highly popular carvery.  It was packed out ... and no wonder why.  It's a good job we booked this meal well before-hand as anyone just waking in on the off-chance would  have had to be turned away.  And, of course, as usual, the food was splendid ... as were the ladies seeing to our needs.  The server himself was no slouch, and generous to a fault in his role. At fifty quid for four the meal was bargain of the century.

Staff couldn't be more helpful. We holiday in this area every July and always make sure we play the course at least once. Its wide open, you can really open your shoulders, has always been nicely presented. The practice areas are very good including a driving range, short practice area, net and greens. The clubhouse is a little tired but dont let that put you off, the catering is fantastic. Would highly recommend a visit!

Went for my nieces birthday where we had a lovely meal. All the food was very tasty and service was excellent. I would definitely recommend a visit if your in the area.

Have visited number of times on different ocassions. Food is always great but Thursday steak night is a highlight. 8oz rump steak with all the trimmings and glass of wine in a bargain price. Always top quality and cooked perfectly. Great selection of desserts too.

We have come here for a meal on numerous occasions and enjoyed the food. However, two weeks ago we came and were disappointed at the quality and presentation of the food. We thought that it was just a blip and booked another table for last night for a family get together. The venue is lovely, the service was good but again the food was very disappointing. Over cooked on certain items and very poorly presented. Two bad meals in a row is not a blip. unfortunately after many years and many meals we will not be back. I really cannot recommend this place for a meal anymore as I have done in the past.

Warm and welcoming, nestled in the Vale of Strathmore with a good 18 hole golf course and a driving range. The sunday carvery is spectacular, the choice of vegetables is wonderful and the meat always beautifully cooked. Served with a smile.

A group of 12 of us played Strathmore Golf Course as part of a 2 day outing and while very playable course for all standards it was the clubhouse food which all had us raving.

It's always a pleasure to eat out at the Strathmore Golf Club Restaurant - they have got it down to a fine tee. Conviviality -great hearty food -marvellous plentiful carvery on a Sunday and to summarise.............although slightly away from the madding crowds, it does seem like the in place to go around here. Book in advance.

The golf course itself is great, we had really good day and the weather was nice. Unfortunately after we finished and were looking forward to some nice cold beer we were deeply disappointed. The lady behind the bar didn’t seem to know how to pour a pint and the majority of us said our beer wasn’t great so decided to have a bottled beer, unfortunately again this was warm and we had to wait a long time for a glass with ice just to cool it down, in hindsight we should have taken them back and just got our money back, there were staff walking past the lady looking at the queue getting bigger and did nothing. I would play the course again but wouldn’t spend my time or money in the bar.

What a good find! Restaurant very much in the middle of nowhere with absolutely fantastic views for the golf course and the valley. Menu has plenty to choose from. Great food, freshly cooked to order. Reasonably priced. I have also read in here lots of good thing about their carvery so it will definitely be plan for my next visit. Can't wait!

Great food and portion sizes we had a lovely meal after a good game of golf. The staff were friendly and the food was nice.

A group of 8 attended on a very busy night (100) diners. An excellent choice of all 3 courses on the menu and numerous specials on the board.

Always enjoy a bite to eat here after a round of golf. Wide and varied menu and reasonably priced. Always very friendly and welcoming.

Warm welcome, comfortable seating, friendly service, sunday buffet offers well cooked, tasty and a great selection of items. Well priced, will come back again ( I have already more than 5 times!!! )

We visited here for a meal to give a treat to our cousin. 2 lamb meals and 1 mince and tatties. All the servings of mashed potato were cold, i mixed mine with the mince which was hot and my husband ' I eat anything' ate his but my cousin couldnt, she couldnt cut through the lamb, there was a maze of fat with some lamb inbetween. i went and found someone to complain and i was very discreet so our complaint didnt impact on anybody elses meal. He said he wouldnt charge for her meal. my cousin and i had pudding, well hers was a main aswell and they were both tasty. We came away disappointed and what should have been a treat for her instead was a topic of conversation for the rest of the evening. With hindsight when the meal came i should have said we werent having it and we werent paying for the drinks as they were an accompaniment for the meal we werent having...but when you are already there you try and make the best of a bad start. I thought a gesture of free drinks or certainly my cousin given her pudding free as she hadnt eaten would have been a nice gesture but it didnt happen. Hindsight is a wonderful thing perhaps they might take my comments on board and do it for the next unlucky people but it wont be us. I have rated this on the meal and outcome.

Superb course some interesting holes with elevated tees. Attentive staff, good choice of food in clubhouse, tho our group only had snacks.

Had a lovely meal on "steak night" when you get a rump steak with all the trimmings plus a small glass of wine for £12.95! Excellent value for money. Appeared the waiting staff were quite new and inexperienced and were needing to be told what to do by the main waitress who seemed to be in control of the front of house of the restaurant. Not a complaint, everyone has to learn and they were all very pleasant.

We have just had a lovely meal. 3 of us had the carvery which was excellent value for money. Turkey, ham or beef with all the trimmings. Plenty to choose from. My mum had the lamb & she said it was excellent. It was busy as it was mothers day but the staff were great & we didnt have too long to wait. A great choice to celebrate mothers day in this fab restaurant in the beautiful scottish countryside

Lovely, friendly restaurant that my hubby loves to visit when we’re in the area - as we are today. They do the best sticky toffee pudding ever. Scenic drive out in the sunshine.

Brilliant good quality food. It would be good to have the menu changed more often as veggies or others with more restricted diet may find a little repetitive. Carvary on Sunday great - veggie option?? Good quality at reasonable price.

We were here for a family meal the other day and all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Portion sizes are good, the menu is varied, including the kids menu, and food and service was all good quality. Have been before and will happily visit again!

This is a Fab place to eat. Great Service and Food delicious. If your in the area it's a must. Very cosy and comfortable. Fish dishes are fab.x

Walked down from the town, only about a mile. Staff were excellent, all very friendly and prompt attention. Food was beautiful. Prices seemed reasonable. Plenty of atmosphere. Want to go back and play the course now and then eat in the clubhouse again!

Our meal for four was delightful, marvelous food and views of the golf course through panoramic windows. It was a windy day which proved challenging for the golfers.

I've been here a fair few times now and the food is always great value for money - very rarely quiet. It's not a venue you'd go for a "special" meal but for a day-to-day lunch/tea, give it a go.

We were at a dinner where there were around 140 guests and they coped admirably.

2016 since my last visit; it's still excellent value for money, and as much as you can eat from the carvery. I've never seen such huge turkeys! Vegetables and sauces too numerous to mention but all very good.

Great food and great service. We didn't book a table but just turned up. The lasagne is one of the best that I have ever had.

Lovely food in a family friendly atmosphere. This restaurant never fails to deliver a happy experience for couples and family groups. Their Sunday Carvery is second to none. Why would I bother to cook a family roast when this place does it better.

We come to Strathmore Golf Centre usually with friends and family . Lovely staff who always give us a warm welcome . Food is really nice especially the Carvery on a Sunday .

My two friends plus my wife and I visited Strathmore Golf Club last weekend and ordered a 3 course meal. The restaurant was spotlessly clean and the food was delicious. The service was excellent. I highly recommend this golf club restaurant to all old and new customers.

Went as a family and kids enjoyed substantial portions. Menu varied and service excellent. Offers good value.

We really like coming here with friends for the carvery. Each time we look at the menu and specials ( which look great) but end up enjoying all the vegetables and turkey, ham and roast beef of the carvery. Even when the restaurant gets busy you are never made to feel rushed. We like lingering over our meals and conversations. The price is good. My only “complaint” is that I eat too much! I should stop after the first plate instead of going back for more of the yummy roasted parsnips. Friendly and efficient service.

My friend & I went for a snack lunch. I had the soup of the day & mixed berry pavlova which was very good. Lovely scenery & pleasant staff. Haven't been for a while but wasn't disappointed. The only thing I would say is that the decor hasn't changed for years & the place is beginning to look a bit tired & outdated

Had a quick meal after our golf and wasn't disappointed. Warm surroundings whilst freezing outside. Excellent soup of the day and Serving staff helped me choose my main course which was very nice. Will be back.

I dine here in January with friends . Service was good , and done with a smile . The food was basic fare , but the helpings were larger than usual . The price was average .
