The best restaurants serving British food in England

Went down at 7:30pm, closed even though it says 8pm on Google. Weird, maybe they should update their closing times!

Brilliant pub great and very welcoming especially to disabled I have just started to get the confidence to get back out as moved back In 2018 due to domestic violence and I personally think that the pub every staff member was more than helpful and the customer welcomed us and I have multiple anxiety issues and bipolar copd and fibermalga its a massive problem to get out as I aways hide and I always get serious anxiety and its the first time in possibly 10 years nothing made me feel like I was not part of the community even though I have only attended the place 3 times since 2018 to now thanks best customer service ever and as my 15 year old says I am a Karen lol see you weds to get all my spare bits for you to get rid off I really felt welcomed Im going early this week need a table lol

Fantastic wedding venue! Staff are very welcoming and the food absolutely amazing. The venue itself is really stunning with a nice outdoor area along the canal.

We had a sandwich each. Very nice, lots of killing, salad, and crisps. Good value. The tea was good as well. Dog friendly.

We have lunch here about 12 times a year when in the area. It's good honest pub food at a reasonable price, the service is good and the ambience is pleasant. Can't comment on the ale etc as I am always driving but they seem to have a good selection.

Called in for lunch. All staff were friendly. We had Lentil Soup and cheese and jalapeño scone. Both were delicious. Lemon and blueberry cake was also delicious. Would highly recommend.

Kind of poor today, asked if I could swap some salad instead of chips out of the offer which they used to do and refused therefore charged a lot more. Batter was soggy on underside of fish and waiting time was poor, waited 30 minutes considering I was first in the building at 11am.

Really lovely place, decorated beautifully throughout. Staff really friendly and the food was great especially for the price - everything in the picture came to less than £25.

Nice well stocked nursery with decent prices. Also has a small coffee shop.

We so enjoyed our first visit here for dinner this evening celebrating John's birthday. Jason and Michelle are the perfect hosts and we really enjoyed chatting with them. Our food was delicious and beautifully complemented by the wine. A lovely extra touch was a birthday card from our hosts and some hand-made gingerbread pieces to take home. We will definitely visit when we are next in the area. Thanks and best wishes from John and Gill.

A lovely place to eat while in Watlington. The food is freshly cooked and delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful.
