Amazing eating place, good choice, food delicious, bread to die for…… The owners are a lovely couple who put so much work into making this eatery a success. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. They also supply outside catering too, and I have experienced this also. Scrumptious…….

Como persona de Yorkshire, juzgo severamente al pescado con papas fritas. Son los mejores a nivel local y son tan agradables. Habiendo despedido a otros de la misma que no son guiseley pero cerca, esto es lo que encaja para mí. Lo haremos.

Primera vez en el Princess y me encantó la experiencia del agujero. La comida es excelente y el personal es muy agradable. Si no has estado te recomendaría encarecidamente que vayas.

Visited on Sunday with my other half, were served by a young lad with a mullet. What can I say amazing service, amazing product knowledge, and was just a likeable kind of guy. The staff seemed to be very busy but never lost the smile and friendliness in their service. Will deffo visit again!!

El servicio era rápido y rápido no estaba muy lleno con que era un domingo, pero cuando la comida llegó la comida muy sosa y demasiado yendo en el plato, el lugar es muy agradable por dentro, pero eso es todo lo que era agradable

Delicious Thai and Massaman curries, served with beef, lamb, chicken or prawns. A range of succulent rice, coconut rice being my favourite. Not tried the restaurant yet but it won't be long!

This pub is for people who like great beer and no kids and I guess no dogs. So if you have got kids go somewhere else and likewise a dog. If you want to eat I would double check before going that they do food. They did not use to. People go here for the beer which is excellent.

Not impressed, went for Sunday lunch , waited 45 minutes for the meal to be served, my plate had 2 items missing ( gammon and stuffing with bacon ) the kids meal was missing the fries and on top of that the food was cold and the place itself was cold 🥶, the food was quite tasty but shame about everything else

It was flat cold and the fish was hard. Big mistake I won’t be making again .

Desearía haber leído algunas críticas sobre este lugar antes de visitar. El pescado estaba bien y verdaderamente sobre cocinado por un lado y empapado por el otro y tenía un sabor inusual. Las patatas fritas tenían un sabor amargo horrible y eran una mezcla de trozos de patata calientes y fríos. Dejamos la mayor parte de nuestra comida.

Yet another disaster meal at The White Cross! Tandoori Chicken Skewer was cold. Returned and replaced. 2nd attempt slightly warmer but now with over-cooked inedible fries. Again served on a stone cold plate. Spoke with the Manager, Gabby, who incidentally was "Chef" tonight. I returned the 2nd attempt. Was assured that the food was at the correct temperature as per "her probe". Sorry, it's a joke. I was not prepared to give them a 3rd attempt. Cold food, cold plates and a very cool response from the Manager, who sadly doesn't take criticism well. This is happening too regularly at The White Cross. Standards are definitely slipping and have been for some time, not only with the food but also the service in the bar. I have been a regular customer there for a number of years so feel that I have the experience to make comparisons. Believe me, if this had been my first visit it would have been my last. Goodbye White Cross. Pull your socks up, engage in a positive attitude with your customers. I know from experience you can do better.

It didn't look like it does in the photo on a bleak Saturday in February but it was a lovely experience. We wanted lunch and arrived without a booking and replete with dog. Were warned a big party of 19 were inbound and we probably wouldn't get lunch. After a quick perusal of the menu we were told there was a 'window' to order food and promptly ordered two Cottage pies (one apiece) with veg. The pies arrived and were super amazing and filling. Plenty of veg too. If you do visit order pork scratchings at the bar, home made and the best you'll ever taste and any dog lucky enough to receive one will be grateful There are none better anywhere in the UK and they are a delicious treat (if a bit calorific which IS the name of the game). A kind, tasty and welcoming experience. Just what a pub should be.
