We have been here a good several times. The food is always delicious and to a high quality. The service is exceptional and the staff are truly delightful and a return visit is a must.

My Wife & I booked for Sunday Lunch.We didn’t go for the traditional lunch,instead we had the Chicken & Bacon Pie & scampi.The food was excellent & service was good.All the staff seemed happy & there was a nice atmosphere.Would recommend.

The pies here are very good. Homemade and very tasty. There is always a good selection of drinks available and you can watch planes landing at the airport on good weather days.

I was so sad to come here and find that the food had gone downhill so much. This used to be such a good place to eat. A small menu of average pub grub at inflated prices.. paid 70£ for pop x3, a half, 3 mains, a starter and a kids meal. Kids meal was a dry bun, dry dry cheap veggy sausage and chips. Probably value if about 50p and cost 7£ No vegetables or salad or even baked bean even offered. My salad was dry, tasteless.. if I hadn't been hungry after working out and it hadn't been late I'd have left as soon as I saw the rubbish menu. We ate the food but won't be back again now. So expensive for really below average food when it used to be tasty and interesting dishes. I feel utterly ripped off and disappointed. Shame as the service was great, the location remains amazing...

Gorgeous views and great staff, haven't eaten there yet but that's next on the list.

Beautiful scenery and great service

Nice pub overlooking Otley Chevin. We had sandwiches with homemade chunky chips which were amazing.

Staff were very friendly. I ordered the cheese and chutney grilled sandwich with red onion. The menu stated it was made with mozzarella. When it came it was filled with processed cheese. Disappointing.

Turned up to Sunday dinner...no beef, no pork! No Sunday roast then! Very disappointed.

Poor menu, no variety. Over priced. Didn'tstay & eat.. Dirty floor & filthy carpet .

Exceptional pub with brilliant staff. The location is so picturesque, too. The food served is second to none. Dog friendly is an understatement. All are welcome.

I love this place and the food is great but out visit today was marred by two men with a 1-2 year old and treating the conservatory as a nursery playing loud children's programs on a mobile constantly, throwing food all over the place and wandering around the whole dining room. The young girl serving our table asked if she could clear our plates away whilst we were still eating still picking food from the plate as she was lifting them from the table - really ! I mean the place was empty so why the rush.

Lovely bar staff and waitress. Very cute and friendly. Although, tripped on the carpet.. I think it has been fitted an odd way.

Friendly staff, only stopped for a pint after a walk, nice inside, huge beer garden overlooking Leeds Bradford airport was an added bonus

The menu was good choice .I chose fish and chips and my sister Vienna schnitzel. Friendly staff and there were three on duty.

The weather was glorious and therefore the views impressive. We were a group of ladies out for Sunday lunch. We meet monthly and have tried many local eating houses around the Ilkley area. Today’s experience was met by unanimous approval (fairly unusual as there are often minor grumbles!) the food was excellent. Between us we tried the roast beef, pork and chicken and everyone commented on the quality of the meat. The roasted vegetables were particularly tasty and compared very favourably with other venues. The service was friendly and efficient. Excellent lunch, excellent value.

Family of four visited 13:30 Tuesday after a walk round The Chevin. Ruby was very welcoming, a well-placed table in the conservatory had just been vacated so she gave us menus to review whilst she cleaned it. Once seated told us the pie of the day and that they were out of garlic mushrooms.. informed of slight delay in kitchen as it was a busy sunny day, and we were still served within 20 mins of ordering. Very friendly, informative and hard-working. Checked on us throughout the meal. Food was great, each meal about £16: 2 x steak & ale pie (would recommend), 1 x chicken burger, 1 x veg curry with chicken. Great location with fab view. Minor gripe that curry wasn't temperature hot, but it didn't affect the meal so didn't mention it or mark-down. Will go back, even just for pint and views.

We love coming to the Royalty. Today we had pie and mash and toddler had hot dog and fries. The service is friendly and prompt and the food is generous portions and is tasty. Thanks very much! 😊👍

Great place to visit after walking on the nearby 'Surprise View'. Beer garden is great when the sun shines with views over the valley and the airport. Haven't eaten but the food looks good. Decent range of beers too. Very dog friendly.

We stopped here by chance - and am so glad we did . The menu isn’t extensive - but they have achieved the holy grail - Simple food with great ingredients cooked well. The game and merlot pie was astounding and the portion sizes are generous. This was our last night in the area - and not only was this the best meal we had it was also the best value. It was wet and rainy when we visited but the view from the patio tables on a sunny evening would be awesome - and you can watch the planes coming into lane at the airport. Well worth a visit

Was my second visit , was all round excellant, food ,service was top class , the view outside was great as well (can clearly see the LBA runway and planes) . The Manager was very friendly ensuring we had a good experience, all four of us agreed , we will be back soon!

called today sunday 9th june with no booking. it was busy but could not have been made more welcome. superb food and excellent service. the guy behind the bar, tall man with a beard who we met before is a credit to the royalty as was our waitress. such a lovely visit. thankyou.

A great location for the classic car meet.

We just went here for a mid week car meet, so we stayed in the car park. The views are amazing. The restaurant was closed but the chef put up 'Takeaway' food which was amazing. My fish finger (not Birds Eye !!!) sandwich was incredible with its chargrilled doorstop bread slices, fragrant tartare sauce and salad presented in a box. I noticed that the Fish and Chips and Burgers etc were also on an equally high plain. To cap it all the owner ran about the car park trying to identify those who had ordered the food so he could deliver it. Service beyond the call and with a smile

Out door benches could do with rotting bits repairing & re -revelling as I found them difficult to sit at. However! Fantastic location friendly service.

Although it says “ dogs allowed “ on the website, in practice there is one small dark bar and the other areas bar, eating area and including outside seated area does not allow dogs . This means if you go with friends you will find yourself ostracised due to your dog..

Fabulous Sunday roasts at very decent prices. On a hugely busy Sunday, this restaurant pulled off a gorgeous, generous Sunday roast for 6 of us today. The staff worked their socks off front of house and behind to keep everyone happy. When they realised an error on our order they offered free desserts and the bill showed a generous discount. The food was faultless with the best Yorkshire puddings ever. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Amazing food, great view! Blonde lady was the only one working the bar and restaurant today, was doing magnificently, she was very kind and provided great service.

Cosy, welcoming pub with stunning views. Excellent real ale, good plain pub food - well cooked and extremely generous portions. The pub was very busy when we visited for lunch, so the service was a little slow, but friendly and accommodating nonetheless.

Our walking group had coffees and breakfast sandwiches and everything spot on. Really friendly efficient service. Highly recommend the vegetarian sausage butty even though I’m not a vegetarian!

Lovely country pub right next to the Otley Chevin Country Park! Friendly staff, quick service and a cosy atmosphere all added to a fab experience! Enjoyed the steak and ale pie which was delicious!

Visited here again after a walk, normally just have a few drinks bit decided to dine here at 4pm, booked a table and was surprised how busy you were so glad we did book, nice not to feel rushed, the service was good, oredered 2 steak pies with chips, the food arrived within a good time, would easily say the best steak pie in years, nice combo of the short crust base and puff pastry top, just what was needed on a cold afternoon, keep up the great work will be back over the summer to sit outside 😋

We love taking our dogs to the cosy snug and there is always a cracking fire and warm welcome . The service is first class and Ruby always so attentive and friendly. The food is delicious we especially love the hot roast beef baguette and home cooked chips ! The roast dinner is especially delicious and no portion controls compared to a lot of pubs now, quality food , real value for money . Fab pub set in stunning views and wonderful walks .. well done guys !!

Our first visit here, and we came to treat the wife for mother's day with our sons. The food was amazing, couldn't fault anything. The service was very good. Was gutted to be told that they had run out of desserts(apparantly). Will defo reccomend to friends and family and will defo be back to eat their again.

Passed The Royalty many times and always fancied trying. Unfortunately the one time I went, it wasn't very good. We were waiting ages to be served. My dad ordered two meals (no he isn't fat) and the long haired waiter decided to comment on this saying "Hungry are we?" I think it was very rude to comment on what people are ordering. Keep your thoughts to yourself maybe? With it being none of your business what a patreon orders. Food took a very long time to come out despite not being complicated orders. Ordered a tea and was passed a cup of hot water with a tea bag on the side. It was quite clearly a teabag from a multi pack, not individual serving teas. Never been served tea like that in a pub before. Usually at least have the bag in or in a tea pot! The food wasn't great, the service was bad and the server was rude. Asked for the bill, waited ten minutes before getting up ourselves and the waiter was like oh I was going to bring it. Disappointing all round unfortunately.

A large group of friends (all over 60) meet after a walk for a meal and a catch up. We were able to order our food prior to the visit and all was in order including reservations. Service was excellent and well organised. Food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Many thanks.

We had lunch here,complements to the chef and kitchen staff. Dog friendly in the taproom, treats, water, blankets and towels available for your pooch. The service from the bar and waiting staff was also excellent.

As the Royalty was near to our hotel we decided to call in for a late afternoon drink to watch the amazing sunset from the conservatory. We decided to stay on for an early meal as it was closing at 5pm. We both enjoyed a delicious roast beef wrap while watching the sunset and the activity at the airport. The bar staff member was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend a visit

Ruby the member of staff was first class. She ensured we had a fab time and we haven’t had better service anywhere. The food was the best pub food I’ve had for a long time and I visit a lot of pubs!!! As an experience, we coildnt fault it. Thank you!!!

What an excellent Sunday roast we had. 5 stars all round everything tasted fresh and not as if it had been kept warm for ages before service. The staff were excellent attentive, polite and friendly.

Went for a family Christmas dinner today. Food was delicious and great service. Good choice of beers. The pies were excellent and everything was clearly homemade to a very high standard. Kids meals excellent quality too. Would recommend!

Called in today to see if they could do a walk in for 2 people.Told they had one table left. We obviously both ordered a Sunday roast.I went for roast beef and other half the duo of pork and beef. When food came the plates were hot and the food was too.We both enjoyed our food,although to be picky I couldn't eat my Yorkshire pudding as it was a bit cake like.Should mention all the servers were lovely and friendly and efficient. We would definitely call in again.

Had lovely lunch here. Fantastic staff- Ruby was amazing. When she realised we were celebrating a special occasion - my parents diamond wedding anniversary she went out of her way to make them feel special. The roast beef wrap was delicious & lovely views

Had a wonderful lunch, food was very good and wholesome. Service from the waitress was excellent going above and beyond on all our requests. Even got treated by the waitress to a glass of bubbly to celebrate our daughter’s birthday

Great Sunday dinner - probably the best in the area.

Called in just after 2pm for lunch. There was an OK choice of food, although it has taken quite a long time for it to arrive every time we've been here for the last few years. The food was quite nice but I thought my portion of veggie curry was quite small for £14+

01/11/2023 Couple from Derbyshire. My wife and I went for a meal in the evening. It was a little quiet but very friendly. Staff were very nice and helpful. We both had the starter garlic mushrooms on sour bread and the flavours were amazing! I couldn’t stop swirling my tongue around my mouth to extract every last taste. For the main course my wife had the tender blade of beef and I had the royalty pie. The tender blade of beef just fel apart and my wife said it was cooked to perfection. My pie was beef based, home made and full to the brim. The veg had been cooked in a herb infused butter and was probably the best I have tasted in a very long time. We didn’t have deserts as we were both full. The service was very good with many check backs and we left a 10% tip based on the quality of food and service. This place is a stones throw away from the Chevin hotel and spa in Otley. Don’t bother eating at the hotel, go to the Royalty pub, the food is far, far superior.

Brought my family here to help our Mam remember the wonderful visits to Otley and the Chevin we all enjoyed as a family many moons in the past. It was delightful to see the restaurant survive the past few years of global madness. A young chap called Sam served us and ensured we had a table with a view. The social atmosphere was conducive to the age group who were dining out that lunchtime. Yorkshire at its finest. Aye

Had a meal pie and mash awful gravey was so thin water out of a tap was thicker I had tuna sandwich with chips which were burnt One of my guests had the breakfast. For the pie gave it 4 for the sandwich 5 for the breakfast 8 used to come here often but will not be going back can only think new owners have taken it over?

Had a very disappointing Sunday lunch here recently. We had a long wait which was explained to us but not til we sat down. The staff were really lovely so it wasn't their fault but the meal was not worth the wait. Veg mentioned on...

Food, service and atmosphere all great. No faults at all. Waitress Ruby was excellent. We would return and recommend for an informal meal.

Lovely little pub with amazing outdoor seating, great place to grab a drink and watch planes take off and land.

I have eaten here before and quality has been very good. Obviously not the tight ship it used to be. I ordered haddock. It was small and possibly something from the day before. Maybe don't be the first to order if you are eating here....
