A golden beam of bargain beers and nice food. Thankfully the students that go here seem to sit quietly on their laptops rather than shouting UNAAAYYY and vomiting in cocktail pitchers.

There was egg shell in the fried egg, got a chicken wrap that was completely cold, got about 4 chips in a portion. food is rubbish. I would not recommend eating here at all, obviously a lack of care from the staff in the kitchen.

Situated in a lovely old building all the family enjoyed our breakfast and later dinner on Saturday. The online phone ordering was really good and service was very quick. We will be back next time we visit.

Wow, absolutely stunning Wetherspoons. The building is massive with seating on 2 floors and has been very sympathetically restored to make a very comfortable place to come for a drink or something to eat. Lots of nooks so you can tuck yourself away if you don't fancy the large main area and outside seating too. And it's what you expect from Wetherspoons. Whether you use the app or order at the bar the staff are friendly and efficient, the prices are low and the food simple but tasty and quickly delivered.

2 of us went in for dinner after a 3hour journey and a visit to the hospital and ordered 1 x medium steak and 1 x beef lasagne. The lasagne was cold and rubbery and the steak had blood running and could not be chewed. They took it back and gave us another but terrible as well. We have 2 weatherspoons in our little town and we eat there all rhe time. We have never had a meal like this and have been eating there for more than 10 years . A real shame but will not be going back there

This is our go to place for breakfast. The ambience of the inside is beautiful. Drinks are cheap. Lovely atmosphere and the only downfall I would say like every weatherspoon the toilets are a mile away great for exercise after having a big meal 🤣🤣

It's a very beautiful grade listed building. In typical spoons fashion they have bought an old run down piece of history back to life. Fantastic job. Food was nice and service was decent. Highly recommend

Tables were filthy and we were served cherry coke instead of diet coke on 2 occasions

A beautiful space with cheap, tasty and a great variety of food. As a foreigner (hate me for this... but here you go...) but we sat for a long time waiting to be served. When I finally flagged someone down, they told me to use the URL Code of the table, which got me nowhere. Tourists noticing me struggling showed me where to get the actual code. I finally managed to put in my order, but to pay I had to use a verification that required me paying extra for my Canadian data plan. So we went to the bar to order. We waited and the food never came. We found out it was left under a heat lamp for 45 minutes from the lovely staff person who sorted things out for us. So - loved the space and food (once received), but not the managements ideal of "service".

Visited for a late night drink. Garden and food close at 10pm. Large, high ceiling interior with a nice atmosphere. A good range of beers, friendly staff. Worth visiting if you’re passing through

You know what you're getting when you visit a Wetherspoons. The only negative I have about this place is the signs for the loos. There are sadly lacking and it's very annoying if you're unfamiliar with the place and you can't see any staff. Took me ages to find them. Not just me either because a lad walked in and declared what a mission it was for HIM to find them too. Other than that, it's pretty standard spoons really.

Grear venue, planty of space for our family of 14!

Phoned to clarify blue badge parking and wheelchair access. They said it was easy access. They didn't say the building was not directly accessible from the carpark. You have to leave the car park and walk on the pavement around to the front of the building. Our group included one in a wheelchair and one recovering from a minor stroke. Not the best!! Staff said there was a door to the carpark BUT it was always locked and they didn't know how to open it......????!!!!!! Main bar area only had high tables and chairs so we were limited to a smaller darker area near the door unable to appreciate the beauty of the building......which was the reason we decided to visit. Reviews were raving about it. Food was very basic and small portions. 1st visit to a Weatherspoons and a bit disappointed. Table was sticky, asked to clean it but still sticky afterwards?? Best thing was it was very quiet (lunch time). Spacious and not rushed. Coffee was good tho and we are fussy about coffee. Free refills. Now we know what to expect we might return but not anytime soon.

Another excellent spoons Cod and chips is always amazing. Also the building is well worth the visit.

Student pubs have gone upmarket since my day. Stopped off at Wetherspoons for breakfast after a stopover to watch the cricket. Food and drink arrived within minutes and was hot. A nice conversion of an historic building

I am not really sure where to start with our visit to this pub today. Part of our group ordered on the app but I wanted to check availability of items so I went to the bar. What followed was like something out of the history books, I was essentially refused service due to the colour of my skin..... and then to top it off the order my friends had placed was cancelled , again as the delightful manager Tom cheerfully informed me, Wetherspoons do not cater for guests from my culture and religion. J D Wetherspoon, if you read these reviews I would strongly suggest some urgent culture and diversity training for your managers as I was to left feeling totally second class by Tom, and I am still contemplating reporting him to the police !!

You get what you pay for, this place is an amazing space, space being the operative word. Look it's not going to be gourmet is it. We got scampi and chips with a drink, excellent value as always tbh.

Great pub but could do with a better smoking area

The bearded ginger manager has awful customer service, is very rude and doesn't smile at all. I was upset and had to leave straight away; disgusting customer service. From someone who works in hospitality themselves, I am aware that hospitality can be exhaustive, but there is no need to act the way he does, no manners nor have I ever seen him smile. He is on his phone loads and is very unwelcoming.

This is a large Wetherspoons over 2 floors, (originally it was a church). We usually spend about £45 for 3 people, including meals and alcoholic drinks. You can mostly get a table unless there is cricket or rugby at Headingley Stadium pre-match. Food is usually good. It is in the middle of a student area. My only criticism is beer ordered with the app from the table. I drink Shipyard. Sometimes, when my pint comes I get the impression that it is not straight from the pump but may have been topped up from the overflow from other beers. All pubs always have a glass of overflow beer under the counter and do practice this "topping up". More so with table service. Now I never order beer through the app. I always go to the bar for my beer. All in all I would recommend going here. Lots of street parking.

It's a Spoons. It's a rather big one but still a Spoons so you know what to expect. Unusually for Spoons theres plenty of space, but this reduces the atmosphere. The food, however, was excellent. Hot, freshly cooked, and served very quickly. I couldn't fault anything on the plate. My one small grip (not specific to this venue) was the complete lack of beer mats (or even serviettes to wipe spilled drinks.) That said recommended and worth a visit

This must be in most Spoons-goers top 10 Spoons to visit, it is that spectacular. There’s even a car park at the rear although the hedgerow around it could do with a bit of a trim.

Beautiful pub...wetherspoons have turned something like this derilict old girls school into a mini Palace Went for breakfast it was fantastic ...very good price very good food..great atmosphere reccomended

This is a great pub based in a huge, extremely spacious and historic building. I've been in few stunning Wetherspoons pubs over the years, and this is no exception. The rooms are enormous with very high ceilings. On a sunny day the light streams in through the huge windows at the rear of the building. It's the perfect place to enjoy a decent breakfast before watching the cricket, as the stadium is just a short stroll away.

Absolutely lovely experience visiting golden beam with my girlfriend, however the reservation wasn't communicated properly but it was all sorted with the manager in an instant, overall good experience.

Always a decent, cheap breakfast here. Loads of room, especially with a little one wanting to run around. Don't forget to register your car if using the car park!

Thursday 12th May 2022 ivisited this Leeds weatherspoons I was impressed with the size and well lit interior of the pub There were very pleasent helpfull staff on andcat 5oclock the clientelle was of students and older age Some Yorkshire cricket fans were in after watching yorkshire today Food good and an adequate amount of good priced hand pumped ales on Good place to have a good pint of real ale today Friday 3rd May 2024 Today, we again came into this full and really busy, well run weatherspoons This place served a great choice of real ale and was well staffed. I had a good chicken masala curry. See picture sent when in headingley this pub is a must to visit

Beautiful art deco building opposite Hinsley Hall, originally intended as a Christian Science meeting hall. As a pub it works very well indeed, with plenty of seating on two floors. Very well managed Wetherspoon's house, with excellent friendly service, and the usual good value. Recommended!

Went for a meal with our lass and the boy. Nice and clean throughout, decent pricing, decent meal, and the toilets were spot on.

Extremely snidey and arrogant midget black doorman refusing entry, claiming it was closing, a good hour before it was due to shut. His smirking at denying entrance underlined he based his decision on the colour of my skin. Wetherspoons need to sack this dwarf before he ruins the business with his spiteful sneering attitude.

Enjoyed our meals and will return when in the area.

A lovely old art deco building. Box standard whetherspoons food but it was tasty, hot and came really quickly.

Had an AWFUL experience with one of the managers (ginger hair and beard). Was asked to remove my feet off the chair which i did straight away, then was proceeded to be kicked out for no reason. I was doing work and not any causing any trouble, have seen other reviews about this man and he needs to be fired as he is very patronising and disrespectful. I was left distressed and was forced to go home for a glass of wine. UNACCEPTABLE

A wonderful building created by Wetherspoons. Excellent choice of food and beer. Great price. Disabled toilet to the left. Public toilets to the right & up the stairs. Triple level building. Double beer garden. Only a 7 minute walk from Hyde park corner or the Skyrack.

Absolutely out of this world ... what a great place to relax and enjoy good food and drink . Much cheaper than the spoons in leeds city centre and more chilled out ... what a great place to be . A beautiful building with a great history .

Never been in here before, what a hidden gem, we were served by Nathan who was just on point to offer the best deals. Prosecco by the bottle and Malbec, a pint of I P A punk, and a bag of nuts, what a great venue, very warm and welcoming. Would highly recommend

Bacon was cold on the breakfast, but very reasonably priced and very quick service from the staff. Good selection of Ale behind the bar too! 8/10 overall, would recommend!

On 12/03/2024 at 22:34 me and my partner entered and sat upstairs. We were not told that they had stopped serving drinks or food and as it is easier for us we decided to order on the Wetherspoons app. I ordered a Smirnoff vodka and pipeline punch monster pitcher for the two of us. Shortly after a worker came up to us and told us they had stopped serving drinks and food and that I should receive a refund however I still have not received that refund. Before we left we tried asking a worker about the refund and she said the tills were off and would be put back on in the morning. No one said if we would have to come back and ask for the refund or if it would come back into my account automatically, the second worker was quite impatient and eager for us to leave so we did without really understanding what we’d have to do for this refund. I therefore tried contacting customer service and have not heard back from them either. This has been a very disappointing experience for me as I frequent Wetherspoons quite a bit with friends and this has really dampened my overall love of the brand.
