Absolutely amazing night, came here with my mates, ordered a delicious meal and then sat down to play pool. The staff here are welcoming and freindly, would reccomed

We have been here a lot of time and every time Abbey has always been amazing when we visit this place. I have been here many times for different occasions. The food is delicious and fresh, the service is brilliant. Great atmosphere. The staff are always friendly and really helpful. A Great place to visit!

Food was the culinary equivalent to an orgasm. The staff were fantastic, all dealt with some very entitled customers during a very busy period. I enjoyed it so much I might even come again tomorrow.

I've been coming here for over 20 years and eat regularly with friends. I can't believe how much standards have slipped, tables not cleared, staff standing chatting ignoring customers, but the food is the biggest disappointment, almost inedible on this occasion. Such a shame as used to be so reliable. I shall take my business elsewhere in future.

Tonight my daughter chose to have steak and it was cooked perfectly. I gave compliments to the chef , Josh. He did a fantastic job!

The food this evening was scrumptious and served piping hot. The service at the bar was polite and friendly Michelle was attentive to our needs even remembering the extra sauces we like when bringing out the food. Lovely mid week treat

A tetleys pub and ex steak bar still heavily reliant on the food sales. I didn't eat so I cannot comment on the dishes on offer. The staff were good and the drinks were fine and reasonably priced. There was a nice atmosphere and we enjoyed a good chat over our drinks.

Shocking horrendous dried up food from the festive menu, the server was as miserable as the food, stating what do you expect from microwave food! We were expecting it fresh as had to pre order and pay a deposit, the server even cleared plates whilst some of us were still eating, stating it will be busy when the restaurant had multiple empty table, she was so rude clearing up glasses we hadn’t used stating I didn’t ask that! we left once we saw the chefs with dirty clothes and hair, never again will we be visiting Stone Trough. No excuse they had problems with their heaters. The pig in blanket black and inedible along with the rock hard bullet roast potatoes, shocking food - they should have simply contacted us prior and we would have gone elsewhere as opposed to been made to pay for dried up inedible food

I've had the haloumi and chips and the double beef burger here (not in one sitting!!) and I can't fault either of them, at all. The service is fantastic too, so friendly and the staff can't do enough for you. Food is also priced well.

Amazing food, amazing service, as it always is!! Loved it, we're always so well looked after. Beef, turkey, gammon Sunday roasts were all amazing and the salad too!

Really enjoyed our lunch. Asked for an accessible and warm table which is what we got. If you’ve not been before and need a disabled parking space they are located at the back of the building. Entrance is then all on one level.

As an avid customer of the Stone Trough Pub I was, as always greeted with a smile from the very professional bar staff, Michelle, Abbie, and Chrissie. They catered to my every whim, and also checked on me to see how I was doing to make sure my experience was one of great memory. Being there time after time I have always felt welcome, a part of the family, and also a friend of each person that served me. Thank you very much to Michelle, Abbie & Chrissie as well as the rest of the team for a very pleasant visit and hope for the good times to continue!

First night of quizzing had a fun night thank you. Look forward to next week.

This is our local, it's a great option for quick, simple drinks or family food. It is dog friendly and always welcoming. They have a variety of food based evenings (curry night, , steak night etc) which seems really popular and it's a great option for kids food.

Wonderful service as always. The landlady Chrissie is the best and does an amazing job. I can’t fault her for everything she does for us. Best pub around

The staff are always so friendly, Chrissy the landlady always makes sure everything is in order. Every time I’ve eaten here they always make sure the food is how we would like it.

Never eaten there but lovely friendly people. Always welcoming.....a great ambience with a wide range of ales and beers....the tap room is hilarious

My experience at The Stone Trough was disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the staff seemed uninterested and, at times, outright rude. It made the whole visit feel unwelcoming, which was a real shame. The food was okay in terms of flavor, but the portion sizes left a lot to be desired. For the price, I expected more substance on the plate, and it just didn’t feel like good value. Sadly, between the lackluster service and the small portions, it wasn’t an experience I’d recommend.

Habíamos oído hablar de los estrictos procesos de alérgenos que el pub ha establecido y decidimos visitarlo para probarlo! ¡Qué increíble experiencia tuvimos! Desde el momento en que entramos por la puerta principal hasta el momento en que nos fuimos, nos hablaron sobre todos los procesos de alérgenos e incluso se aseguraron de que pudieran atender a mi hijo que tiene necesidades especiales. Él no puede estar cerca del ruido, ya que esto le irrita, así que nos pusieron en un espacio donde era lo suficientemente tranquilo y se aseguró de que tenía suficiente espacio. Fabulous place for a Saturday night! We came up to have a few drinks and it was a fabulous atmosphere with lots things to choose from! The staff on shift were incredible and very attentive! We will definitely be coming back!

Been visiting for years and love this for our local. Staff are super friendly, great range of drink options and great food for when we can't be bothered to cook for ourselves.

Popped in for dinner with friends to make the most of your 40% discount. Service at the bar by Maisie was spot on with an impressive knowledge of both drink and food available. Once getting seated the food arrived in no time at all 20-25 mins max. The server Chel was very attentive to the groups needs even with a fussy teen in tow. The food looked amazing and was pipeing hot, very much enjoyed by all. Hats is to the chefs,Chrissie and Josh for what they were creating on Wath looked like a buisier night than normal.

Me and my mum came on a Thursday for the 2 for £17 steak night. We both agreed this was the best steak we have had in a long time… and the beef dripping gravy is to die for! The service was excellent. Will defo be back soon 😀

The following happened after. I had received a reply suggesting I did not have a valid , discount. So we went the following day to quietly show the discount voucher, The acting manager quite rightly took me to one side to speak with me. However. I had said that a child disturbing the peace. I didn't know she was on the autistic scale but that would not make a difference. But the child's parent a staff member appeared intent on making it known to me. His behaviour was so threatening that the acting manager stepped between us. But that member of staff raised what was a quiet discussion to a scene which had many customers turning to see what the disruption was. I have family in the autistic scale that is why we have always sat out of the main areas. We have ensured that they are not allowed to disrupt the peace of a venue. People with Autism need careful handling most are unlikely to end up face down in the river like my friend with asperges syndrome around the time of this incident, so I wasn't in best mood and just needed a peaceful meal which we had on average once a week with a restaurant in this group for over 20 years which went from a table for 4, up to eight and since covid has been two or three of us every week, once or twice. I must have seen half a dozen managers come and go there since 2014 and the manager has been the best in my opinion, but was not on duty.. A more senior member at Embers Inns advised for my own safety to stay away from the venue for some time. Stressing that I was not banned being a such loyal and regular customer for so many years. As far as the app. (I was a computer consultant 50 years experience) I had relied on my wife's app as mine had failed to work properly since my app phone had fallen from my pocket and got crushed by a vehicle. We would use the vouchers but still go even if there were no offers. But personally does not appear an incentive. Clashes if >1 offer . Increasing the waiting time to be served. Etc Yesterday was a mess. This to me is more a criticism of Ember Inns than the Stone trough. But I will try to be objective. I cannot even get on the phone app yesterday even showed staff my phone was saying that the restaurant app was violating the Google terms. So much time is spent by staff trying to reconcile offers being made by Ember Inns.. So the queues increase unnecessarily and customers get disenchanted. The current manager, in my opinion, the best, hardest working they have over the last 10 years. Yes we have been going regularly for 10 years. As a sizzling pub I hated the fumes from the platter which took my relaxed breathing away. When it became an Ember Inns the then manager was never to be seen. If the current one is not visible it is because she is helping in the kitchen to ensure food is properly cooked with attention to allergies and food intolerance. I cannot order from the table as the app doesn't cater for our food intolerances. My wife mouth comes out in ulcers if she has citrus. New staff cannot do this either and rely on more senior staff to put it through. I get bad stomach ache if my food had cucumber or hot chillies. These are not problems created by the Stone Trough but by Embers Inns inadequate phone app. I had built up four stamps in three weeks when it changed And I lost my rewards and now cannot even get the app to work. And neither can the staff. Last night I was overcharged by five pounds. I suspect my granddaughter burger was entered as a child's where now she is grown and I ordered an adults burger a full price drink. It looked like a child's burger. But I did not want to make it an issue, I wanted to get out. An off duty staff member had a child obviously enjoying herself but oh so loud and centre of the restaurant when children are encouraged to eat and stay at one end. So atmosphere was not good , the salad used different types of the ingredients, eg little gem lettuce., and others not the same, didn't notice bacon or the rice,so was disappointing.. We decided to use another restaurant for a few weeks until it settles down

Maisie was amazing and and cared for us exceptionally well despite our requirements, final for England but was served quickly and efficiently, cannot complain about the staff behind the bar.
