Fabulous place for a Saturday night! We came up to have a few drinks and it was a fabulous atmosphere with lots things to choose from! The staff on shift were incredible and very attentive! We will definitely be coming back!

Been visiting for years and love this for our local. Staff are super friendly, great range of drink options and great food for when we can't be bothered to cook for ourselves.

Popped in for dinner with friends to make the most of your 40% discount. Service at the bar by Maisie was spot on with an impressive knowledge of both drink and food available. Once getting seated the food arrived in no time at all 20-25 mins max. The server Chel was very attentive to the groups needs even with a fussy teen in tow. The food looked amazing and was pipeing hot, very much enjoyed by all. Hats is to the chefs,Chrissie and Josh for what they were creating on Wath looked like a buisier night than normal.

Me and my mum came on a Thursday for the 2 for £17 steak night. We both agreed this was the best steak we have had in a long time… and the beef dripping gravy is to die for! The service was excellent. Will defo be back soon 😀

Lovely service by young lady with blonde hair. Friendly bar service. Good food quality. Preferred the 3 choice Sunday lunch with beef, Turkey or pork they used to serve. The old menu was much preferred.

The following happened after. I had received a reply suggesting I did not have a valid , discount. So we went the following day to quietly show the discount voucher, The acting manager quite rightly took me to one side to speak with me. However. I had said that a child disturbing the peace. I didn't know she was on the autistic scale but that would not make a difference. But the child's parent a staff member appeared intent on making it known to me. His behaviour was so threatening that the acting manager stepped between us. But that member of staff raised what was a quiet discussion to a scene which had many customers turning to see what the disruption was. I have family in the autistic scale that is why we have always sat out of the main areas. We have ensured that they are not allowed to disrupt the peace of a venue. People with Autism need careful handling most are unlikely to end up face down in the river like my friend with asperges syndrome around the time of this incident, so I wasn't in best mood and just needed a peaceful meal which we had on average once a week with a restaurant in this group for over 20 years which went from a table for 4, up to eight and since covid has been two or three of us every week, once or twice. I must have seen half a dozen managers come and go there since 2014 and the manager has been the best in my opinion, but was not on duty.. A more senior member at Embers Inns advised for my own safety to stay away from the venue for some time. Stressing that I was not banned being a such loyal and regular customer for so many years. As far as the app. (I was a computer consultant 50 years experience) I had relied on my wife's app as mine had failed to work properly since my app phone had fallen from my pocket and got crushed by a vehicle. We would use the vouchers but still go even if there were no offers. But personally does not appear an incentive. Clashes if >1 offer . Increasing the waiting time to be served. Etc Yesterday was a mess. This to me is more a criticism of Ember Inns than the Stone trough. But I will try to be objective. I cannot even get on the phone app yesterday even showed staff my phone was saying that the restaurant app was violating the Google terms. So much time is spent by staff trying to reconcile offers being made by Ember Inns.. So the queues increase unnecessarily and customers get disenchanted. The current manager, in my opinion, the best, hardest working they have over the last 10 years. Yes we have been going regularly for 10 years. As a sizzling pub I hated the fumes from the platter which took my relaxed breathing away. When it became an Ember Inns the then manager was never to be seen. If the current one is not visible it is because she is helping in the kitchen to ensure food is properly cooked with attention to allergies and food intolerance. I cannot order from the table as the app doesn't cater for our food intolerances. My wife mouth comes out in ulcers if she has citrus. New staff cannot do this either and rely on more senior staff to put it through. I get bad stomach ache if my food had cucumber or hot chillies. These are not problems created by the Stone Trough but by Embers Inns inadequate phone app. I had built up four stamps in three weeks when it changed And I lost my rewards and now cannot even get the app to work. And neither can the staff. Last night I was overcharged by five pounds. I suspect my granddaughter burger was entered as a child's where now she is grown and I ordered an adults burger a full price drink. It looked like a child's burger. But I did not want to make it an issue, I wanted to get out. An off duty staff member had a child obviously enjoying herself but oh so loud and centre of the restaurant when children are encouraged to eat and stay at one end. So atmosphere was not good , the salad used different types of the ingredients, eg little gem lettuce., and others not the same, didn't notice bacon or the rice,so was disappointing.. We decided to use another restaurant for a few weeks until it settles down

Maisie was amazing and and cared for us exceptionally well despite our requirements, final for England but was served quickly and efficiently, cannot complain about the staff behind the bar.

We ate this afternoon after being to the gym and the food was immense! We had burgers, the steak sandwich, and the prawn sandwich was beautiful. Charlotte, Sam, and Harry were brilliant as always! We will eat here again :) Thank you!

Amazing food great people lovely afternoon

Called on the off chance today on our way from an open garden nr Hgte, me and my sis, hunters chicken x2, perfectly cooked, nice to have side salad instead of peas! No complaints at all, staff very good, a tall very happy young man, and a lovely girl with a bow in her hair were excellent, will certainly be back. Anne & Sue

We had a lovely meal on father's day we didn't have the Sunday roast we had from the normal menu and it was lovely we had the hunters chicken, lasagne and my son had the chicken nuggets chips and beans. All the food was lovely especially the puddings we couldn't fault it and it was great value for money. We will definitely be back. I would like to say a big thank you to chrissie, matty and jai. Terrible food was# burnt and sauce was frozen desserts nit very hot

I was booked for a 2 night stay at the premier inn there resuarnt was closed so I went here food was absolutely beautiful cooked by josh and Chrissie. Maisie behind the bar made me feel very welcome. Very polite and friendly. Chelle had the place absolutely spotless. These staff are a credit to your company.

Great food and location. You can order food and drink from your table so just sit down when you arrive. Food was lovely although starters are small and really good price

We came in for a casual meal and it was fabulous! The burgers we had cooked by Josh and Mike were incredible. So flavourful and just what we needed! And of course the service by Chelle and Maisie was impeccable. Thank you!

Having googled the best place to eat in the area we walked from Rawdon (17 minutes in total). We had a wonderful reception,(2:30 afternoon)I ordered the ultimate burger but being awkward asked for the southern fried chicken instead of the beef burgers in it, no problem at all 😁 hubby had the mixed grill, perfectly cooked!! Beer was amazing, could not fault anything! The atmosphere was wonderful with the bingo session with, what we believe are the local serious citizens, very homely feeling! Shout out to Charlotte who has fantastic people skills. Staff amazing!! Will be back

Been here many times over many years and sadly the standard of food has fallen so badly that most of my meal was inedible. This place used to be a great place to meet friends for a lunchtime drink and bite to eat but prices have gone up and quality is non existent. Still like the pub and staff are friendly but will eat elsewhere.

Your typical warm friendly traditional pub welcome. With good food and great service with a smile. I've been coming to this place now for over two years it just gets better with time like a fine wine. Jay is funny witty and just a really nice guy. Chell is just the best and constantly running around trying to get everything perfect for her guests but never forgets her sense of humour.
