Again ABBIE the waitress was very pleasant and although there was 10 of us she could not do enough for us. She is an asset to the restaurant. It made our night out a very pleasant and enjoyable.

Abbie gave fantastic service and we had good food and a great evening

Great place for a relaxed family meal. Bit of lettuce and mayo in the spicy chicken burger would make it perfect

Sorry I can't say a good thing about the food, the pub itself is fine, the waiting and bar staff excellent, but the food is appalling, scampi was OK, for frozen scampi, but the chips were flat cold, as we're the frozen peas, no salt, could've been freshened up with a bit of butter, but that is probably too much for the cook, who seemed to spend his time at the corner of the bar. We sent our meal back, and was told it would be a while, we received the same scampi back with new chips and peas, but our scampi was now cold. An elderly couple sitting behind us ordered mixed grill, the steak and sausage were black, looked like coal they complained and to be fare the manageress did offer to replace it, but they decided, and eventually walked out without finishing. I said you should ask for your money back, he said that they just wouldn't come again....neither will we....Thursday 15th of April..

Cold steak sandwich no mushrooms on it as stated on the menu ... gin and tonic flat tonic which was soda water told the staff no accountability at all rude attitude no people skills will not be returning

Came in for an evening meal on my own, extremely friendly welcome, fantastic service Chelle, Nathan and Leon were absolutely amazing, top service and quality can't recommend enough. #petsclub

We eat here every week, the service is second to none and the food is delicious.

Bit of a weird one. The food was generally decent enough - although the kids portion compared to other similar pubs really was disappointing. Is there a shortage of peas?The service wasn’t fantastic either, staff stood around chatting to each other and no one checked to see if everything was ok with the meal. Would probably give it a miss in future.

A very disappointing lunchtime visit. This isn't a place for a quick lunch. It took us over 2 hours to eat, and the place was virtually empty so I can't imagine what it's like when it's busy. We were told that sea bass wasn't available as a choice but another person ordered fried fish so why wasn't that offered to us? Plates were cold and the food was only just warm enough. The apple pie was great but again luke-warm. Overall I got the impression that the kitchen is under-staffed or under-trained

We paid extra to upgrade from rump to sirloin, but we're served rump! It was Thursdays 2 for one offer? The 'dripping' gravy with my wife's steak was like coloured water with salt added. It's bought in packets, according to staff, but how can any proper chef serve such rubbish. All round just OK. I wouldn't want to be paying the full price of £20 each for what I got.

I came across this place by accident, but I'm glad we did.

Best food iv had in a long time, soup was georgouse with fresh bread .salad so fresh the chicken cooked perfectly and the flavouse complement each other woundfully. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much will definitely be coming back to try the Sunday dinner. And what value 👌

Omg haven’t been in such a long while but loved it. So welcoming, and the food mmmm. Had the sea bass on a chickpea curry and definitely coming back here for more ! My mum thoroughly enjoyed hers too and she’s more fussy than me 😂🫶 do visit ! Now need pudding lol 😂

Loved it here, our waitress Abbie was wonderful had a laugh with her , great food, not cheap but no expensive, definitely coming here again.

Friendly pub relaxed atmosphere

Excellent meal here. We have been before & will no doubt come again. Wait for food from ordering was a little longer than we would have liked, however, the food was fantastic when it did 👍

When we visited the stone trough this evening the real fire had gone out. Matt, the assistant manager, was quick to relight it and provided excellent service .

We come here often and this is due to the staff being so attentive and considerate, always there to help with anything we need. Walked in today and asked Matt to light the fire, he lit it immediately and reserved our favourite table after clearing it…thank you Matt…always a great host…

As always, Matty and the team have not only been been an amazing host, but the food was amazing. Once again, I can't thank you all so much. My the wife and my daughter have left very happy 😊

Local food pub - variety of cask ales. Very large pub plenty of seating with a separate bar area. Friendly staff and always great service.

What a fantastic place. Could not recommend it highly enough

Order a coke and realise the glass was cracked, went to the bar and it was changed straight away. Food the starters was amazing. Main, two was good and the other two not too good, we didn't feel it went together (BBQ beef rib mac & cheese) also found a piece of plastic on the side of the dish.

Food lovely, was very busy when we went. The music was loud but the waitress was happy and quick to turn it down for us.

Not impressed, went for Sunday lunch , waited 45 minutes for the meal to be served, my plate had 2 items missing ( gammon and stuffing with bacon ) the kids meal was missing the fries and on top of that the food was cold and the place itself was cold 🥶, the food was quite tasty but shame about everything else

Good food (apart from barely warm veg) service shocking 1hr 15mins from ordering - we were told at the bar there was a 45 minute wait fair ok - but still sitting there half hour later, lots of other people grumbling too. Plus side - lovely warm fire Down side - the wait

I visited today with a couple of friends. I got the Slow Roast Beef Sunday lunch. Wow! The best Sunday lunch I have ever had! The beef was cooked to perfection, the veg was not over cooked....everything was amazing. The staff were prompt, professional and friendly. We will definitely be back

A really nice Christmas meal for the Evening and again lovely organised staff who helped us for the evening for our big group.

I've been coming here for over 20 years and eat regularly with friends. I can't believe how much standards have slipped, tables not cleared, staff standing chatting ignoring customers, but the food is the biggest disappointment, almost inedible on this occasion. Such a shame as used to be so reliable. I shall take my business elsewhere in future.

Shocking horrendous dried up food from the festive menu, the server was as miserable as the food, stating what do you expect from microwave food! We were expecting it fresh as had to pre order and pay a deposit, the server even cleared plates whilst some of us were still eating, stating it will be busy when the restaurant had multiple empty table, she was so rude clearing up glasses we hadn’t used stating I didn’t ask that! we left once we saw the chefs with dirty clothes and hair, never again will we be visiting Stone Trough. No excuse they had problems with their heaters. The pig in blanket black and inedible along with the rock hard bullet roast potatoes, shocking food - they should have simply contacted us prior and we would have gone elsewhere as opposed to been made to pay for dried up inedible food

A tetleys pub and ex steak bar still heavily reliant on the food sales. I didn't eat so I cannot comment on the dishes on offer. The staff were good and the drinks were fine and reasonably priced. There was a nice atmosphere and we enjoyed a good chat over our drinks.

I've had the haloumi and chips and the double beef burger here (not in one sitting!!) and I can't fault either of them, at all. The service is fantastic too, so friendly and the staff can't do enough for you. Food is also priced well.

Really enjoyed our lunch. Asked for an accessible and warm table which is what we got. If you’ve not been before and need a disabled parking space they are located at the back of the building. Entrance is then all on one level.

As an avid customer of the Stone Trough Pub I was, as always greeted with a smile from the very professional bar staff, Michelle, Abbie, and Chrissie. They catered to my every whim, and also checked on me to see how I was doing to make sure my experience was one of great memory. Being there time after time I have always felt welcome, a part of the family, and also a friend of each person that served me. Thank you very much to Michelle, Abbie & Chrissie as well as the rest of the team for a very pleasant visit and hope for the good times to continue!

This is our local, it's a great option for quick, simple drinks or family food. It is dog friendly and always welcoming. They have a variety of food based evenings (curry night, , steak night etc) which seems really popular and it's a great option for kids food.
