The best restaurants serving British food in Wolds Weighton East Riding of Yorkshire Yorkshire and The Humber

Wonderful venue, lovely, kind staff/owners. The home-made ice cream is delicious and the special coffee excellent. All enjoyed while taking in a breath-taking view across open countryside to the Yorkshire Wolds. Well worth a visit.

Based on other reviews, I went here with high expectations. The food and drink exceeded tham in every way. I thought that, with the owner being Italian, they might do decent Italian food. They don't: they do sensational Italian food, and that's from someone who doesn't usually choose italian food. My main was seafood linguini with garlic bread at 15.95. When it arrived, i thought that the portion didn't look huge, but after I'd fought my way through 5 very large shell-on king prawns, about 15 mussels and 20 chunks of calamari, plus linguini, all covered in a rich tomato source, I realised otherwise. Sweet was lemon cheesecake, served with vanilla ice cream, fresh strawberries and fresh raspberries at 6.95. Washed down with a lovely pint of IPA and a pint of Old Peculier, the total cost was just under £30. Sensational value for this quality. My friend had the vegetarian quiche, which was also excellent. The pub is a delight; very traditional with lots of quiet corners and a lovely outside seating area for sunny days like when I visited. Lots of choice of cask beer: there were 8 on, mostly from local breweries, with a mild and an old ale. The locals are very friendly: indeed, I was chatting to the very same 2 locals someone else complained about and gave a 1* review for. They were really funny and we had a great time. I guess if you don't like humour, go to a boring pub full of non-people rather than a characterful pub like this. I can think of very few other places that offer this kind of quality and value: to be precise, none. Worth 6 stars.

Sunday lunch with friends (4). We all took a roast @ circa £25 each. I had the pork which was tough, barely warm, and fairly tasteless. The black pudding and crackling were good. The apple sauce underwhelmed, a little bit sweet, not much flavour. Veg were uninspired. Overall unimpressed. Similarly my wife did not think much of her beef. Dessert (Apple streusel) was too dry, I didn't finish it. Double espresso was served in a large cup, and went cold before the dessert arrived. Only one real ale to choose from.

Lovely room, great location, amazing price!

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were made very welcome. What a stunning little restaurant, very pleasant place. We ordered the steak with all the trimmings, absolutely delicious, and cooked exactly how we wanted. The staff were pleasant and helpful too. They had a fresh fish board as well as the main menu, with a menu to cater for all and all freshly cooked to order

I've used the takeaway service several times now since covid and the first couple of times was hit and miss. I was not impressed with the plain rather overpriced hot dog. But I persevered and I have now discovered the beef Piri burger which is delicious, their chips are genuinely the nicest I've ever had! However, the 'home made' desserts were really disappointing. They come in a carton with the manufacturer's name on it. Clearly factory made and frozen, very small portion at £3.80 each I feel completely ripped off!

We love these tea rooms. It's a great spot to warm up after a lovely walk, there are so many lovely walks from the village. The soup is amazing, we have it every time. The service is so friendly. The cakes are amazing.

Llegamos a conocer a los tres chicos Wonky, Roo & Dave enseguida tan soo como llegamos ya que el gato encantador estaba esperando también presentarnos, conocimos a todos los demás animales de granja y Ginge el gato, pero fue 100% las increíbles vacas de las tierras altas que hicieron de este viaje lo que fue. Sad to say, it seems if you know the owner they'll serve them first rather than the line of customers. I'll have to have a very good reason to go back at all.

Lovely pub with great food. Wide range on the menu. All of the food was great. Lovely atmosphere and very welcoming team.

We visited here at the last minute, on route back from the coast. The service was really good and the bar staff had a table ready for us upon arrival. We had two nut roast Sunday dinners that were the same price as the meat dinners but half the size. The vegetables were overcooked and mushy, very disappointed. Unfortunately, not worth the money.

Went for dinner Friday night my partner had the salmon which was perfect and I had the sweet potato tart which I'm so glad I chose ...it was delicious 😋this place has fine dining at pub prices....wonderful service...very friendly staff. What more could you want..

my wife and I got a cold cut up chicken sandwich and way under cooked pasta salad with cheap mayo . it said grilled chicken so by some chance I thought it might have been hot.wwow!!and the French dip was equally horrific. the place smelled like a massive hard boiled egg peeling contest was taking place ..at least I hope that is what is was. geeez!!safe to say we won't be back.

This cafe is now called Miss Bs pantry. Very friendly ladies and delicious food. As a coeliac myself I have to have gluten free. This is very well catered for here so my partner and I have visited on numerous occasions.Various selection of savoury dishes and cakes. Lovely latte too. Well worth a visit.

Food was ok tasted nice but a bit overdone but it was a couple sat in window with a dog...the dog was sat on a chair at the table..which i thought mmm ok but then to my horror the lady fed the dog off her fork then carried on eating done this a few times...I know it's a dog friendly cafe but surely the lad behind counter should of told them about dog on chair if he didn't see the feeding part...
