Wonderful venue, lovely, kind staff/owners. The home-made ice cream is delicious and the special coffee excellent. All enjoyed while taking in a breath-taking view across open countryside to the Yorkshire Wolds. Well worth a visit.

The cafe is really worth going to. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. There is plenty of space and play areas for children too. The pulled pork sandwich I had was wonderful. I'll definitely be returning soon and can highly recommend

Just watch the long road into The Shires as it dips on either side meaning our car scrapped in the middle in a number of places and could cause some damage to lower vehicles. On the last visit we went at the last minute before they closed. Sun was shining, great gelato, amazing views and friendly welcoming service. A great option when you are wanting somewhere away from the crowds and a peaceful place to relax, let your kids play and soak up the sun (when its out). A regular place to visit on our list. Keep up the good work and especially the great customer service which sets you apart from most other places!

We were staying at the Wolds Edge Holiday Lodges and knew about this wee cafe from researching the local area - and we just had to visit as my youngest *loves* Gelato and ice cream (now know what the difference is). It is a wonderful place to visit - and the owners have done everything possible to make families and dogs welcome. The food we had was delicious and the coffee was great value. The Gelato was amazing and we would come back just for that (4.5 hour trip from Edinburgh). We loved the outdoor games and although we didn't bring our wee shih-tzu this time, we definitely will next time. It is a family owned/run business and it is clear to see they have put their heart and soul into making their customers enjoy the experience.

Just visited this place with friends. Lovely warm welcome, very tasty food, delicious gelato and a beautiful scenic area. I wish the owners all the very best in their new venture and I’m impressed with what they have achieved so far.

We have been a couple of times now….great setup although a little out of the way. Has the potential to be amazing, staff seemed very friendly although extremely young and dressed a bit to ‘kool for skool’ and keen to be on their phones. Say they are dog friendly but then when you get there we were told dogs will not be allowed inside…look round at your competition guys, they let dogs in. No decaf tea or coffee, again come on. Charging city centre prices but not up to the standard/quality needed yet.

This is an asset to this area and is bound to attract people not just from Bishop Wilton, but inevitably Pocklington and surrounding towns. Great food and coffee and their home-made ice cream is of a delicious quality and great value. Because of it's elevation (High Belthorpe) you get 180' panoramic views to the south while you sip your coffee or eat a pizza. Alternatively, a lovely clean and modern cafe if you wish to sit inside. Guinea pig enclosure and Shetland ponies, so very child-friendly. Staff were friendly and very kind. 100% recommendation. Submitted by: Dr & Mrs Ashley Wilson

Although you can drive here we enjoy the walk from Bishop Wilton. There's a great range of delicious ice cream. Today we enjoyed the Pulled pork loaded fries which were a generous helping and delicious. The coffee was the best I've had anywhere for some time. Next time I'll try the pizzas.

Visiting friends in the next village who suggested we pop here, it is set in a gorgeous location with stunning views.. we only came for ice cream but ended up with pizza too.. completely delicious and best ice cream I've ever had! Pizza perfectly cooked and super fresh! Corn hole games, hula hoops , dog park and guinea pig village make it a great place to chill out . Family who run it are so lovely friendly too! Can see potential for weddings in the grounds! Can't wait to come again soon

Highly recommended, we had a roast beef Sunday lunch. It couldn't be faulted. Good food, well presented, generous sized portions and good value, all served by pleasant staff who were attentive and cheerful. Definitely worth a visit.

Visited for girls lunch in late April. We were seated at a lovely table outside, lots of cushions and a very comfortable setting. We ordered 3 centre cut filet steaks and they were OUT OF THIS WORLD. Cooked to perfection. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough, i'm fortunate enough to live close by and have been many times. The chefs really know how to cook and how to flavour their dishes. The bone marrow sauce is just stunning. The menu changes often and they use local ingredients whenever possible. The ingredients used are always top quality, it's such a treat to eat here, the prices are very reasonable. A true gem.

This is not quite a review, just a story, I guess. I went to eat here a handful of times maybe 6-7 years ago when I was on my business trips in the area on a regular basis. Great selection of seafood that was hard to find in down south and I always made time to stop by for lunch on my way. One evening I managed to have a dinner there, and had maybe one too many glass of wine with delicious meal, and happen to chat with owner's son, whom I commented looked very young! He laughed it off, I had pud and coffee after that, paid with good tip and I left. Then next thing I know, every time I called to make a booking I was told it's fully booked. I gave up after maybe 3 attempts. Maybe it was coincident, maybe? Maybe not. Apparently that was a touchy subject? Or was it because I'm not white Brits? (They always was a bit funny with my accent and asked me to repeat many things. This never happens elsewhere.) My favourite eatery was no more for me. I was never banned from any place before and this really made me nervous to even talk to any staff in restaurants after that. I do miss this place, because I loved the food, loved the building and I was telling anyone and everyone how nice it was. It was rather painful to be told "It's fully booked" everytime without any explanation.

Second time we've been here, the staff are lovely and pleasant, were happy to give us black pudding with a small breakfast as we didn't want to go bigger, the dining room is lovely and airy and bright, and the top up on our cups of tea was well appreciated!
