The best restaurants serving British food in Calder Calderdale Yorkshire and The Humber

These amazing doughnuts are huge and tasty and whoever designs them they definitely have a good taste pallet,have a good Sunday delivery service as long as you order by 12 on Saturday ,only problem I've found is that their doughnuts are so amazing that now other doughnuts even Krispy Kreme don't taste good in comparison

First time visiting here and the place was rammed due to 17oC ☀️ in early March. Huge selection of drinks on leg/cask. I had no time to dine but the menu sounded ultra tasty. The chips were very good though.

Went out for a drive in the country with my dad and stumbled across this little gem. Friendly polite and well presented serving staff. We both had a pint of Taylors Landlord which was excellent. I had the belly pork while my dad had the giant yorkshire pudding with minted lamb stew, Both well presented and good portions and delicious. Will definitely be back.

Lovely staff where very accommodating with my husband's diet. I had the hot honey halloumi and it was gorgeous and was just enough. You can tell alot of love when into our food I wish I took a picture. Will definitely come again.

Disappointing visit - the surroundings are okay, prices good but the chicken on both our ‘speciality sandwiches’ was very dry and so tough to eat I didn’t bother. The coffee was a good size but hardly tasted of anything. There are so many other places in Hebden Bridge we definitely won’t be coming here again

Once again great food and service,,was a little on the quite side but suited us,, steak pie very nice,,but will be ordering HALF chips next time (lol),,trying to book next meal,,just a shame we've heard that it's shutting it's doors,as not a lot of foot fall,,blame the weather not the place,, hope to be eating soon,,

Great pub food middle nowhere got to be good to survive these days been going over 25 years and will continue 👍

We called in today for the first time. The Sunday lunch was excellent, the service was first rate and the views were fantastic. What a great place. We'll definitely be back... Roll on summer!

Lovely Yorkshire pub.. nice beer open fire and friendly staff the food is amazing too.. what else could you want.. highly recommend this pub 👌 👍

Had the soup and a sandwich served with a nice cup of tea.The salmon and cream cheese sandwich was lovely but the tomato soup was unusual,it was like eating a bowl of chopped tomatoes ! Would have been 5 stars if the soup had been better.

Been here before but was closed ,due to staff issues, so we tried it again. Place was busy, 12:15. Placed order for 2 ( omellete & toastie sandwich) 12:20, food served at 1:15. Table next door waited longer and had to gulp it down as they had a train to catch. They too had toasties. Food, when it came, was good but again had next doors order mixed with ours. No worries as we are pensioners and used to it. Service was good apart from plate mix up. Must try harder!

Popped in to fetch a quick coffee and cake to take out - excellent! Silky smooth latte and a choc muffin that was so melt-in-the mouth it just had to have been baked fresh that day! Hope to return soon for a dine-in experience!

Chips were in their skins to die for.,all the food was excellent. Service and atmosphere first class.

My Family stayed here in the first weekend in March for one night. From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel welcome particularly the young blonde lady behind the bar. Upon our arrival our room's were not ready as we arrived early but we had our bags taken and placed in storage so we could have a wonder in the villiage whilst our rooms were ready. This was my first stay in Hebden Bridge but i plan to visit again. The room i stayed in was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast the following morning was superb. My only regret is that i did not eat there in the evening. On checkout the young blonde lady again put our luggage into storage as we did not have to depart until 2.00pm and checkout was 11.00am.The White Lion is one of the oldest buildings in Hebden and has lots of character and charm, i would not hesitate to stay here again based on my first experience.

Dirty and full of black mould. No card payment. Never again.
