These amazing doughnuts are huge and tasty and whoever designs them they definitely have a good taste pallet, have a good Sunday delivery service as long as you order by 12 on Saturday ,only problem I've found is that their doughnuts are so amazing that now other doughnuts even Krispy Kreme don't taste good in comparison

Just had the best ever Steak & Ale pie for lunch today at the Old Gate accompanied by excellent chunky chips and some super mushy peas. The pie was substantial, with crispy pastry, steak cooked to perfection and a thick, rich gravy that we had to ask for more of as it was so good. My friends had the Game suet pudding pie which was also excellent. The slight criticism was they only had on one real ale- TT Landlord which was great but too many American IPA’s and Golden and pale ales. Bring back more of the traditional bitters! Otherwise a lovely lunch and excellent service, especially from the very kind, super efficient ‘elderly’ lady behind the bar. Fight Ageism! 😂

Went out for a drive in the country with my dad and stumbled across this little gem. Friendly polite and well presented serving staff. We both had a pint of Taylors Landlord which was excellent. I had the belly pork while my dad had the giant yorkshire pudding with minted lamb stew, Both well presented and good portions and delicious. Will definitely be back.

I've been a few times to this lovely spot. It's hard a really nice spruce up recently and the decor is great and comfortable. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The food has been great every single time, but especially so since they updated their menu. One thing that we really appreciate is that they cater to my partner's dietary requirements without question. So easy and laid back, whether we just nip in for a coffee - which is really very good - or for a healthy, tasty lunch after a long walk. If you haven't tried it yet, I recommend it.

I have been visiting every few weeks or so for last several years. Generaly well satisfied, partcularly when the extremely cheery young man has been on duty, (is he still with you ?) However, to day I was served by a somewhat, shall we diplomaticaly say, unwelcoming lady. Note that a smile costs nothing, and might even encourage the leaving of a tip. I will give it one more go, and if no change, then will be trying elsewhere, no shortages of alternatives. Having walked some distance to get to HB, then my appearance was maybe not quite to the mark, who knows.

We ate here on a Thursday evening to celebrate the final night of our holiday. We felt scammed by the Thursday and Friday night "Eat-in" offer which was not applied to the bill for the roasts that we ordered. The waitress brought our menus to the table, said that the roast was beef, and asked us to order at the bar. She didn't say that any of menu was not available (which would have been helpful!). We originally chose options that wouldn't have qualified for the offer but when we tried to order them at the bar we were told that a lot of the items were not available due to refrigeration problems. So my husband chose roast beef and I not wanting to spend time going through the menu again and knowing that roast of the day was on the 2 mains for £20 offer (applicable at the time we were there) , also said I'd have roast. When we got the bill we were charged £16.50 for each roast. I said that the two roasts should be £20. However, the waitress said that as we hadn't specifically asked for the roast off the offer she couldn't put it through as that. She was adamant that that was what she had been told to do, and said that our roasts were bigger than the offer roasts. I subsequently looked at the menu and on the main menu it says "The Roast'est with the Most'est - roast dinners" and under the offer it says "Roast Dinner of Day". So firstly, I would question if most people would look at the menu and understand that these were not the same dish and secondly, if a customer asks for "roast" at a time when the offer is applicable shouldn't the waitress clarify which they want. Food was OK.

Nicely situated in the middle of town. The parking is a great advantage though very tight to access. The room itself had everything you would need for an overnight stay. Very comfortable bed. Unfortunately when we entered the room after housekeeping had been in on the 2nd day, though the bed had been made the bathroom had not been touched. Though on their website it advertises speedy WiFi this is not the case. No WiFi available in the rooms and only limited available in the bar area. The food was average, we ate there one night but not worth a 2nd visit. 8 chips on the plate of fish and chips is an embarrassment. The breakfast had a good choice, Unfortunately the mushrooms were like old leather and unedible. We love Hebden Bridge but would find another hotel next time we visit.

What a dump. Unfortunately on a busy Saturday afternoon we ended up in this smelly dirty pub Other cafes were full and so it was a bit of a rush to get something to eat. On walking in we should have turned right round and walked back out. We waited over one hour for toasties and sandwiches. The staff served locals ignoring us at the bar. The food when it finally arrived wasn’t nice and overall it was a very unpleasant experience. Avoid avoid avoid at all cost 🤮
