This is a regular place for us to go to, it's very popular with people living afar from it. Great place for a meal, a drink, and a chat with friends. Casual dress if desired. Food is out of this world. The amount of food you are served is well worth the money. Just make sure you're hungry before you go. You can book a table on their website, or you can just walk in. The service and the staff is excellent.

Very disappointed by today’s visit. We’ve been coming here regularly over the years for drinks and food too, but customer service today was so bad. We asked to sit for a drink & chips and staff didn’t really know what to do, then they showed us to table but never gave menus nor took our order. At the bar took ages for anyone to serve, despite there being numerous staff. After ordering beer we were waiting 10 min with 0 communication. Our chips were forgotten. Staff didn’t say thank you/good bye as we were leaving. Seems they forgot they’re a pub, not just a restaurant. We spent over £40 so don’t understand their behaviour. They also have stupid signs at the door staying to wrap muddy boots in plastic, when they’re located in the middle of the moors. I will think twice before coming here again.

Having been to the top brink previously I was really looking forward to my mothers day meal but unfortunately it wasn't what we expected. None of the highchairs had any way of keeping toddlers in so we spent majority of our meal with him on our knee. Our starter was given without cutlery and staff dashed off before we could say anything. Drinks were forgotten so had to be reordered. The pricing was alot higher than previous. I understand pricing has gone up but for do not feel like we got our moneys worth. The children's chicken goujons and mash was not very edible for a little mouth. Goujons over cooked. Microwaved mash. Each plate was delivered individually so a while to wait for everyone to have food.

Really rally disappointed. Brie had no red currant dip or jam or cranberry but we could have garlic mayo??? Gammon burnt, chips overdone and hard on edges then beans overdone and mushy- pineapple burnt. Cheese onion pie burnt. Pepper all over the tomato and I hate pepper. Over a hour for this food and it was empty. Get rid of the chef. We won’t come back - such a shame we have been going for years! Is it under new management? Loads of new faces clearly nobody can actually cook anymore !

We waited so long for a server to ask about our starters, when me and my husband discussed this at our table the waitress overhead when dealing with the next table, rather than deal with what she heard there and then she waited till I went to the loo and challenged my husband on what I said! Why not ask myself I wonder? Cause you know I’m right, eventually she approached me when back from loo on advice from my husband, I explained my feelings of poor service, bare in mind I’ve always loved this place by the way which I told the server! but a sorry a few free drinks doesn’t change the experience, we will not return after the attitude and behaviour of this server Shame really such a nice place food experience until today

We were gifted a free Sunday evening and as we were at t loose end, thought of visiting here, having been discussing where we used to go years ago. As like a recent post saying they visited after a long time too, we worked out it must have been 42 years since. Upon entering it still looked the same (and I think it was the same carpet (or pattern), we were taken to our seats and it began to fill up very quickly. Our drinks and food orders were taken and the at seat service for drinks is very nice. Gone off the menu was the TBone steak (with the filet cut out), this has been replaced with a rump steak and the fondly remembered fried egg, grilled tomato, peas and chips. The chips were very good, crispy and fresh, the steak well cooked, but was a little gristly at one end and would have been perfect if trimmed. The menu has been updated to reflect current tastes, I understand why it has, but it detracts from what it was. All in all a nice meal, it is a pub food / service style place, but with bags of charm, will we leave it another 42 years before we go again, perhaps not - go and enjoy.

Bene coming here for years and enjoying it but last night completely missed the mark. The service was poor and the food took forever to come out with little-no communication from staff. When the food arrived it was not at all the standard I expected for the price. The chips were barely cooked and just tasted like cheap oil, even ketchup couldn't mask the taste. The fish was dry. A friend tried their speciality burger and it was one of the worst he'd tasted. Smothered in mustard so you couldn't taste anything else and the meat on its own wasn't great. For the prices we paid I was shocked.

Lacking customer service and patience. I asked for the cheese and onion pie for my mum. To then be told they didn’t have any left. (Usually when I go to a restaurant/ pub dinning I get told what’s not available on the menu after being seated) but, then again I forget the menus were chucked down and the waitress walked off. So, on ordering the rest of group ordered and I was still having to go through the menu to help my mum. The waitress then rolling her eyes and putting her note pad across her mouth then decided to tell us what wasn’t available on the menu. God forbid if I’d of asked the waitress to come back in a couple more minutes. Having my mum who’s of an older age and can’t see a menu due to bad eye sight was then felt rushed. The waitress was not helpful or kind at all. I didn’t have the time to go through the menu and felt so pressured to make a decision. The huffing and eye rolling isn’t very nice. She’s stood behind the bar like a bouncer with a face like a slapped bum. Not welcoming at all!!!!. I dine here quite regularly with friends and honestly very disappointed today taking my mum and some of her friends for lunch.

Perfect Mid-Week Dinner at The Top Brink Inn Located in the scenic town of Todmorden, The Top Brink Inn proved to be the ideal spot for a mid-week, early dinner for two. We reserved a table for 5pm on a Thursday. The restaurant was not too busy, and the service was impressively quick, offering a decent menu with a variety of options. For starters, we shared a bowl of delicious olives and hummus, which was a delightful beginning to our meal. For our main courses, we chose burritos and chilli con carne, both of which were incredibly tasty and well-prepared. The total cost of the meal, including two drinks, came to under £50. This represented excellent value for money. Overall, The Top Brink Inn offers a wonderful dining experience in Todmorden and is definitely worth a visit.

Back on holiday in the area and pencilled in a couple of visits to the Hare and Hounds after visiting and enjoying the food and ambience a couple of years ago. Had an evening meal ( fish and chips ) and a Sunday lunch this time around. Whilst the food was of good quality, tasty and enjoyable for both meals, the big shocker was the increase in price from two years ago. The old menu was still in the welcome pack and on average the meal prices had increased by nearly fifty per cent on average up from 12.50 to 18.50. I appreciate that hospitality has been hit very hard across the board by the conditions imposed upon the industry, but the prices are now very steep for pub grub. Still a very nice place though and did enjoy the meals.
