The best restaurants serving British food in Stratford-on-Avon West Midlands

Mira, honestamente no soy una persona difícil de complacer. Sólo denme la bienvenida, sirvan mi bebida y cárguenme correctamente. Sin embargo, me temo que después de nuestra experiencia en College Arms la otra semana estoy cometiendo herejía rock ‘n’ roll al estar en desacuerdo con Meatloaf — porque ‘dos de cada tres’ en realidad es malo. Parece un pub local para la gente local. No tendrán extraños (o problemas) aquí. A pesar de vivir localmente durante años, no sé cómo desbloquear el nivel de servicio de hospitalidad básica de College Arms. ¿Un apretón de manos secreto te ayuda a subir de nivel, o necesitamos recoger 12 sellos de fidelidad? Supongo que ahora no importa, porque las primeras impresiones lo significan todo y después de nuestra incómoda primera experiencia el otro día no tendremos la costumbre de pasar regularmente. ¿Recuerdas esos viejos westerns cuando el extraño entra en el bar y el pianista deja de tintinear instantáneamente los marfiles? ¿Todos los clientes callan y lentamente giran la cabeza para mirar a la nueva clientela, mientras se desplazan torpemente en sus asientos? Era así, pero con un piso de piedra, chimenea abierta y techos con vigas. La única manera de que hubiera sido más incómodo o territorial era si los habituales hubieran comenzado a rociar libremente su orina alrededor de la zona del bar. El barman no ayudó en nada. Se apegó firmemente al acto de la berlina occidental como si estuviera audicionando para un spaghetti western. El contacto visual está tan pasado en 2024 , así que se instaló de lado mirándonos y sin decirnos nada más que un grosero “¿algo más?”... e incluso eso parecía dolorosamente reacio. No me malinterpretes. No esperábamos que los lugareños nos dieran una palmada en la espalda y empezaran a recibir las rondas, ni esperábamos que el camarero nos jorobara las piernas por emoción. Sin embargo, era un ambiente innecesariamente incómodo. Un simple “Hola, gracias, adiós” habría sido suficiente para traernos de vuelta, pero después de esa fría recepción, no estamos planeando una visita de regreso.

We have been here a couple of times recently, and it is really lovely. We have had amazing meals and the staff are so attentive and friendly, we have been looked after by the lovely Nadine who couldn't do enough for us. And our Chateaubriand was cooked to perfection by Andrew the Chef, thank you all so much for a wonderful experience. We will be back!!

Servicio ridículamente lento. 40 minutos de espera para 3 almuerzos simples. No vendrá de nuevo. Por supuesto, la respuesta estándar cuando me quejo es que hay un retraso. No es una respuesta. El restaurante está medio vacío.

Paramos aquí para tomar café el jueves antes de Semana Santa. Lamentablemente un gran error. £ 11 para un café promedio, un tibio chocolate "caliente" y un bollo de queso rancio duro de roca era demasiado caro para tan pobre hada. La mesa no había sido limpiada de los clientes anteriores. Afortunadamente pedimos dentro y trajimos la comida fuera de nosotros mismos, pero otros clientes parecían tener algunos problemas para dar sus pedidos a los jóvenes empleados que obviamente tenían problemas con alguna nueva tecnología que llevaban para tomar pedidos en las mesas. No volveremos a ir.

Booked into this place with our Motorhome and glad we did, clean well kept site, short walk across to the pub glad we did, this is a very traditional style old fashioned Pub I particularly enjoyed your real coal/ log burning stove, here they are serving fantastic honest quality food and some really good Ales etc, what a lovely bunch of staff no nonsense happy helpful people Thank you for good sausage mash and liver with onion gravy and very nice fries also proper nice lasagna, I can’t praise you enough, I’ll will return

Un pub antiguo tan maravilloso, el personal es fantástico! ! ! Lindsey y Emma hicieron todo lo posible para darnos la bienvenida, era mi fin de semana de cumpleaños, aparecimos el viernes y charlamos con las chicas, a nuestra llegada nuevamente el sábado para ver una banda que me recibió con un globo y un prosecco así como los pavos reales tejanos cantando feliz cumpleaños. Pasamos una noche increíble, los lugareños son muy amables y el lugar estaba a tope, no podemos esperar para volver a visitarlo.

Organizamos un almuerzo dominical para la familia para celebrar el 90 cumpleaños de mamá. El equipo fue muy servicial en la planificación del menú y lo hizo una ocasión muy especial. Muchas gracias a Phil el chef que atendió tan bien a los veganos en la fiesta, realmente lo hizo especial. Todo el mundo realmente disfrutó de la comida y fue muy bueno ¿qué más se puede pedir!

Coffee machine filthy yet still being used. No food available only cake and drinks. Very disappointed

Thought I would get a meal for the family 2 kids and 2 adults the sever wasn't very good and when we got the food home the burger where stone cold and the fries were stone cold and like cardboard the only thing that was nice was the coke and oasis

Good job this pub has finally, went with friends a week before it closed and could not believe the attitude of the old lady behind the bar, she was rude and abrupt to the couple before me as she charged £3 for a glass of water with a dash if blackcurrant, poured me a pint of Guinness in a Carling glass which of course was unacceptable, I said i am not having in that, luckily their was a guy behind the bar who fetched s glass from from the back which was obviously much better, she does not have any customer knowledge how on how treat people and to be honest is hopeless behind the bar, thank god the wacky the GK and her has gone .

We love staying at the Home2Suites in Forest Park. Our driver, Tonee, dropped us off and picked us up from an Italian restaurant at The Hill. She was so friendly! She engaged in conversation with us about the area. Tonee is a real asset to the Hilton properties.

If English Architecture and History are your thing, then this is just the ticket. Its a wonderful 17th Century Building with all of the quirky charm that goes with that. If this is owned by The Donnington Brewery then it is a building which would hugely benefit from its owners' investment in its fabric to bring back the life it really deserves to help the landlord develop the business further. Historically, this was the place to be - the hostelry for the landed Gentry. It's full of friendly welcome from staff and regulars, great food and service. Our Breakfasts were yum! So pleased it is inclusive to our doggie family members too. All of these fantastic assets should be built on with that deserved investment. Thank you.
