This was a lovely place for lunch. While I wish that the entire menu was vegan, so that we could have tried several other dishes, there were three things on the menu that were vegan (and the rest was vegetarian). My partner and I both chose a noodle bowl, with a peanutty sauce, and it was absolutely delicious! We followed up with coffee and some banana bread, which was equally delicious. Because it was warm weather, we were able to sit outside on the patio, which was really nice, and popped into a really sweet bookshop on the way back to the car.

Recommended since reopening and we were very impressed with the decor, service and quality of food. Nicely spaced tables.

This is a lovely place to go for Sunday lunch. The food is always served hot and delicious and the staff are always friendly and attentive. The restaurant has a very homely atmosphere that makes you feel relaxed and comfortable! Especially on the area up the step. Would recommend to friends and family

Cold chips tinned ham horrid egg, my daughter had a burger which tasted like a funfair burger van lump of grease. Needed a fly swat. Not once was we approached to ask was the food ok. We both left our food barely touched. We'd driven 4hrs and had another 3 hours drive so decided to stop off. I don't recommend the food in this establishment 😳

I have a milk intolerance and asked for the allergens menu so I could choose my food, no mobile signal, so couldn’t use my phone, given an iPad menu to view. Got told they would treat my intolerance as an allergen, even though it’s not. Chose my meal at counter, had to wait for manager to bring iPad over again to watch me check my choice(already chosen both main and dessert), staff member on till had to then get a colleague to watch her input allergen info on the till. Main was tasty. Chose plant based(presumably vegan) dessert, not in stock, ordered other vegan dessert on menu, was told I couldn’t have it as it wasn’t on the appropriate allergen menu. Really? A vegan dessert with milk in? I said it would be ok, I am safe with vegan desserts. The manager said she could not serve it to me. I said I was happy to waiver any responsibility, I reminded her it is an intolerance, not an allergy. She refused to sell me a vegan pudding. We left. Understand that companies are scared to cause inadvertent reactions in their customers, but this was truly dictatorial and reactionist behaviour and says nothing of their confidence in their allergen contamination procedures if they are not confident their vegan foods are truly plant based. Won't be going there again.

Called here with a friend for a bite to eat and a cup of tea. Both of us chose the soup with the ham hock and a bread roll and tea. The tea came in the smallest teapot and was only sufficient for one cup. Extra hot water to top this up would have been charged at £1.50. The soup at best was lukewarm. We complained about the temperature and it was taken away. When a fresh bowl was returned it wasn’t much hotter. I would have sent that back too if I hadn’t been so embarrassed. Very disappointing.
