Stopped here for the first time, lovely looking pub. Was told before I went by a friend that they were out of stock on a lot of food. Anyway we got there at 1230 midweek and was told they were out of stock of the club sandwich and the steak sandwich as these were very popular ( if so why not buy more) anyway food came and was good. You help your self to cutlery and sauces but every ketchup bottle was empty, I did ask and they had little pots so that was good . I was also told by my Daughter later on when she went they were out of stock on a few meals. So maybe Management should order more food. I would go back as it is a nice pub

This pub looks very appealing and inviting, with lots of space inside and outside, and not too far from popular walking and cycling routes. However, it's not any different to any other chain pub in the area. On arrival I tried several times to book a meal from the app only to be told that that menu was unavailable, thinking it was a technical issue we went inside to get a menu. After deciding what to order and going to the bar to order we were told they were "transitioning" between breakfast and lunch. This is a bad sign, and it screams that everything is prepared and frozen. Also, there was no notice on the app or menu to say no food orders were taken between 11:30 - 12:00. The menu was what I would expect from any chain pub, fast cheap food, that is a sham as given its location i believe this pub could do a lot more When the food arrived it was not all that, the burger was maybe 5mm thick, very tough and dry. The fish goujons shy on the fish and mostly batter. They were dripping in grease, and when you pressed your knife down on the batter the grease came up over the top of the knife, and the so-called triple-cooked chips definitely were not triple-cooked. The only crispy parts were the ends the closer to the middle you got the softer the skin, suggesting to me the oil was not hot enough or they were frozen. The amount of salt on the chips was unreal, there is seasoning then there is what we had served. All in all the food was below par. This is also a "no cash" business. This is my personal opinion but I feel customers should be given the option. There is no benefit to the customer for cashless transactions, all the costs incurred by the business are picked up by the customer. This pub does have a very nice outdoors, and a cafe side to it that sells nice hot drinks, if you're a walker of a cyclist just passing through this may be your thing, however, food-wise there are many good cafes you pass to get here that serve better food that I would suggest to use. All in all, I will not avoid this pub but I will not add it to my many stopping points on my treks around the area or plan a family meal / gettogether there

We booked a birthday breakfast for 34 people at The Frog on Sunday and it was all fantastic! From the communication on the booking process to the delivery of 34 hot steaming breakfasts AND 34 different types of coffees they scored 10/10. On top of that it was really tasty and all delivered within 30 minutes which was so impressive!

Visited here with friends following a forest walk with the dog We didn’t prebook as all the restaurant was already booked but we managed to get a table in the walk in area We all enjoyed our lunches and had pudding too One of us had the red velvet cake and it was incredible Great selection of drinks and the coffee is delicious Lovely dog friendly pub with a lovely atmosphere and facilities We can’t wait to return , this is our new local as we can walk through the woods to get there

This was our first visit and it was somewhat disappointing. We chose a curry and a pie. The curry was tasteless and not enjoyable. The pie was overcooked, and the outside was so hard it was virtually impossible to cut through it with the cutlery. It would have been an ideal weapon at the siege of Troy! The inside was OK, and our sweets were fine. Our server, Helaina, was great, efficient and very smiley. Altogether not a great experience.

Me met up with some old friends for lunch and sat in the restaurant for several hours. The food,drinks & service were great and at no point were we rushed or asked to leave, even when we were the only diners left after the lunchtime session had finished

Such a disappointment! We had heard good things about this pub from friends and we were left less than impressed. The decor is amazing and the pub has so much potential but the service and the food were sub par at best. When we questioned a dish we were served we were confronted with excuses as if it was our fault for even asking about why the dish was the way it was… we certainly will not be visiting this establishment again and as it was my wife’s birthday we feel completely let down. Such a pity.

Very poor Sunday. Lunch, only one roast, beef, tough as old boots and was sent back. Decided to go for fish, not much better. Saw the manager who adjusted the bill and was very polite and saw what we returned and agreed it was not up to standard.Would I go there again? No I don’t think so.

Lovely venue. Went with my mum for lunch a couple of months ago and the food was good so my other half and I decided to go back last night for a drink. We ordered a pint of Guiness and a large house G&T - imagine our shock when we were charged £19.15 (nearly £7 for the Guiness and over £12 for the house G&T)!!! I don't even think that I was served a double measure of gin as I could barely taste the gin - either that or the gin was watered down - either way, I wasn't impressed... These prices are just plain greedy. I can buy a litre of gin for less than what we were charged! No wonder the place was nearly empty and the staff were standing around with no-one to serve - at those outrageous prices, we won't be returning unfortunately! Such a shame as it's a lovely place otherwise and quite local to us...

Really very impressed with the whole experience on NYD for 9 of us. Customer services 10/10 big thumbs up especially to Fran and the team who attended our table. Very friendly and helpful - couldn’t fault a thing - even though we were in the bar area with dog and normally go up to order they were happy to give us table service - the staff are a real asset to this restaurant 👍 Great atmosphere, fabulous food, big thanks to the kitchen - the best in this area and will be massive competition for long established eateries around here. We’ve eaten everywhere and this place is the best 🤗 Would thoroughly recommend and will return with our ever growing family soon. Please try The Frog - U won’t be disappointed!

What a lovely restaurant and bar, with friendly staff and nice food. We went for Sunday lunch and had a roast, just look at the size of the Yorkshire pudding !

Very nice pub. Great staff that were very friendly, and the service was excellent. The food was well presented and tasted fantastic. Everyone in our party thought the same. The only little thing that we all would advise on is to get a bit more lighting in the carpark, which was a bit dark. Otherwise it's a great pub and we would highly recommend going there.

Upon entering received a lovely welcome and evening of very friendly and attentive team members. A nice relaxing spot for a drink and a nibble. Look forward to returning!

Absolutely phenomenal!!!!! Easily the best Sunday roast I have had in a decade! I have to compliment the team that looked after the 3 of us too. Beth, Sam, Adan, and Aidan, the service was truly exceptional....when I say exceptional I mean without fault. They checked in on everything being ok. We spent nearly 200 and I have not even had this level of service in a Michelin starred restaurant. Im not kidding. Not only are the staff well trained, they are attentive yet subtle and really truly and honestly care about customer service. The staff, the whole holistic approach to service and the food is truly something to be admired. I will forever hold the frog up on a pedestal as to how a ship should be run. Even a smashed glass at the bar is cleared up with safety and with haste. This is easily and I mean easily the best dining out experience I have had in years. I am a foodie, I cook and Im not arrogant but my mum ran catering establishments and I know how hard it can be to serve demanding customers. Although the service was busy and at times hectic the kitchen and the floor team delivered to an exceptional standard..... we waited for nothing and I mean nothing horseradish, English mustard, rock salt....more of that excellent Rioja....... and were looked after to the nth degree. Faultless utterly faultless. The length this team go to to strive for excellence knows no boundaries. Absolutely none. I sincerely hope the general manager at the frog, your area manager, your operational director and your CEO give you the rich accolades this team deserves. If you don't believe me go and see it for yourself. This team are a credit to your brand and if you have any awards to dish out please shower this team with praise. I have been involved in running pubs and monitoring operations before. I bring no ego to any of these roles and I will always support my team. Could I please ask Matt Kearney, Anthony Woodhouse, Mark Woodhouse and Matt Woodhouse to give the credit that this team so richly derisive. Dear Sirs they are a testament to your random your values and your work ethic. Ryan, Jacob, Ed and Harry have also knocked it out the park with the food and although I didn't meet them I felt compelled to have asked for their names. I feel so deeply about how fantastic the whole team ran yesterdays busy service I will also write to you personally and on Tripadvisor. I am not aware of how many establishments you have in your chain but I am a very very vocal supporter of your brand now and how well honed and balanced your team is at the frog. Me and my friends arrived to sit and enjoy the sun and it was fanatastic the garden was stunning and the team!! Just wow! I believe they actually enjoy there job and that’s soo nice to see me and my friends will definitely be returning to this incredibly friendly and amazing place!!

A pleasant pub/restaurant with unusual decor. We received a friendly welcome with a well rehearsed 'Hello guys....I'll take you guys to your table....are you guys ready to order....routine, which although was delivered enthusiastically, it began to grate. Allergies are acknowledged by the diner being given an ipad through which you scroll the whole menu and check your own needs. The waitress was friendly and efficient and while we were waiting for our food we perused the extensive drinks menu. Surprisingly there were no prices which wasn't surprising when we got the bill as drinks are pricey. e.g. £4.05 for a pint of coke, which typically is half full of ice and £2.85 for a tonic. Other chain pubs do unlimited refils on Coke for £3.15. Our food was well cooked and tasty although the portions were small. My nduja chicken supreme came with very good chips but the salad wasn't very inspiring. Other people in our party enjoyed their food but agreed on the portion size, so we left feeling we didn't get value for money.

Decided to visit this pub for a few drinks and chill and abit of “me time” and got to say the pub does not disappoint!!! We had to travel to the pub as don’t live so close by but was definitely worth it! Loved the atmosphere, the vibe was great for us as a couple to kind of just chill…. We had nibbles which tasty and drinks well they had a great range to choose from so kept us happy! Zoe who served us was fab and attentive so overall a great place with friendly welcoming staff with nice food and decent range of drinks….. we will definitely be back!

Been coming a few months when I’m In area. It is hit and miss. Positive and negative. Decor nice, design etc. More investment need to go on training young members of staff - yes they are probably cheaper but the young ones here are naive, don’t have knowledge and are slightly lacking in common sense. I’ve no problem with that but let’s have some older staff to balance that? Last 2 times I’ve been they’ve had little knowledge re wine and they’ve needed a sketch plan so that I could spell it out. That’s to be expected and it isn’t their fault but let’s have some of the old guard supporting them and the customers as well rather than maximising profits? Good just pub food, not bad but not amazing for the price.
