Thought id Try this place while I was down from scotland after seeing Mr wig review .tried the cod & chips & curry sauce .resonable prices. fish was amazing chips and curry sauce was also nice .Will definitely be visiting again before I go back home .

Chips were bruised and a couple were green and glowed in the dark

Asked for the donner meat to be well done came out grey looking like dog meat baring in mind my dog wouldn’t eat it it was thrown out the sausage was grey in the middle the curry was so thick is was horrible the food was put in the bin made me feel sick to look at it the chips had a weird smell of them like mouldly foist

Oh boy. This was a bizarre and ultimately dissapointing venture. First off, cash only. For a modern day chip shop, this is baffling. I do know that there is a cash machine next door but honestly, all the other chip shops in the immediate vicinity do card and with the turn of Covid, this should be by default now. Secondly, they don't know their own menu! The whole reason I walked in was because they have "Battered Halloumi" written in big, as a meal, on their chalkboard. Order it and none of the staff know what i'm talking about, whilst I am literally pointing at the menu item behind me. So much so, they call in a cook who can barely speak English who says "We don't know how to cook that." . So let me ask, what's the point of the menu then? Thirdly, whilst we ordered something they actually do cook apparently, we got it with mushy peas, regular for two people. As we are being served, one of the staff leans over and says "Y'know, the amount of peas you get in the Regular is the same in the Small." and then proceeds to charge us for the regular, despite being told that there is no difference in quantity. As for the food review, meh, mediocre. Not better than Aki's up the road by a long shot. But mainly, just baffling. Won't go again.

I’m not sure what’s happened, but this place is not the same, had a couple of visits recently and the quality is terrible, staff did not give me a choice of salt & vinegar, the fish batter was not good, I asked for curry sauce, it was that thin it poured out in the paper, well what little bit was there was!!!!!! Kebab, well never no chicken choices! chilli sauce was like water, just like curry sauce, & very little. Portions have reduced, like a lot🤷‍♀️, and why is it always a problem when using the card machine, not working and it’s the same answer, it’s cash only 🤦🏻‍♀️ where is the fab liverpool chappie🤷‍♀️ If this place is under new management, then say!!! I’m going back to Aki’s from now on!! 😠 xx

Not the best experience last night, we waited over twenty minutes to be served, and when we got home some items of our order were missing AND we'd been overcharged!!!! Thankfully the food was lovely and everything was hot, just don't know what happened to the service 🥺

1 hour I waited. Very very disappointed with this place. Went in and ordered large chips, potato scallop and a garlic bread... was very busy which was fair enough so I waited and was very patient, then 45 minutes went by and a member of staff suddenly turned around out the blue saying there not doing pizzas anymore when clearly the guy making them was still making the online pizza orders.. Over herd that a member of staff went into the back to cry because of a male member of staff... 1 whole hour it took to end up with a large chips.. The ladies at the front was very nice but the staff in the back was appalling... I will never go to this place again. I am discussed it took 1 whole hour to walk out with my order.. I felt sorry for a lady who was before me beacuse she order pizzas for her 2 children and they was so upset after they waited so lovely for there pizza for 1 whole hour.

Wednesday's fish and chip treat was not a disappointment!! This has to be the best chippy around. The fish / batter was exceptional 👌 to top it off the staff are brilliant and friendly , I WILL BE RETURNING 😊

Food is always hot and fresh, quick service and the staff are lovely and polite.

Best fish and chip shop in Nuneaton

We have been using this take away chip shop for well over a year now. Fish is cooked to order so is always fresh. Alex and Jackie also listen to their customers so food is cooked and served to your liking. We always have our fish lightly done and only have a few chips. We don't have to ask for our food, because Alex and Jackie really know their regulars. If you try this chippie, there's a very good chance that you will become a regular too. Add to this the fantastic atmosphere whilst waiting for food to be cooked and served up, well, it's a no brainer. If you like a warm welcome and a laugh followed by a delicious serving of fish, chips and peas then look no further. And by the way, we're quite difficult to please, so it really MUST be good!

Used to be our go to chippy, haven't been for a few months so called in for our usual of large kebab meat and chips in a tray. When we got home and opened it it was ridiculously small. The tray was smaller than the large used to be and the portion sizes were a joke. Needless to say we won't be going back.

Since being taken over by new proprietors we were recommended to try it and were pleasantly surprised by how good the food and service was. We have been back several times now and the quality is always very good. Highly recommended 👌

This chip shop needs to update its website 3 times now gone and got there for it to be closing down nothing available only very small selection as closing and only being 9.15 when web page says 10pm

Tonight was the first time we've had a bad meal from this place. Usually it's fantastic as I've reviewed before stating, but tonight I don't know whats happened. We were served some VERY questionable food, the lettuce on the kebab looked like it was prepared on wednesday and still being used on Sunday, the kebab was dry, burnt and just not the usual standard, and the chips were under cooked. We've never had this food served when the two younger girls are working, maybe its a newer staff member tonight?

This used to be a great little chippy but now fails to have much available and closes too early. Sad

Best chicken wings I’ve ever tasted! Although when I challenged the server about not putting salt and vinegar on my chips and she swore she did to get home and guess what! No salt and vinegar! Why lie?

Placed an order today got home missing the chips after telling the girl three times then got charged again for the chip's, Very Poor, I will Go Elsewhere in Future.

Love nippin in here with it's warm atmosphere (and that's not the cooking equipment) staff are really friendly and happy as for their donor meat it's cooked to perfection melt on the tounge

Had a large cod. Lovely large flakes, cooked to perfection. Chips are ok. Mushy peas were good and not watery.

We just moved to Nuneaton and we are so pleased we have already found this place! The store is so clean, the staff are friendly and it was reasonably priced as well. We both had kebabs with chips and they were so tasty and good portions. Will have to try the fish next time, they looked MASSIVE! Great little find 😁🤩

My friend and I went to the chip shop for our lunch and had to go 3x cuz they got our order wrong!!!

Without a doubt I can safely say that this is the worst fast food shop I've ever been to, but the staff are good people it's not their fault. It comes down to bad management and not knowing what the public wants.

Use this chip shop alot but tonight the fish was lovely, but even though I paid the same for the chips as I would if I had just had a bag of chips, the amount I got was no where near the same, however the chips were undercooked and ended up in the bin anyway.

Served by a young lady with a pleasant smile and lovely attitude. Wasn’t too much of a wait considering its mid week. Ordered two pizzas and fish and chips, had to wait for the pizzas but they were made fresh so can’t complain. Excellent food, excellent service, 10/10 recommend!

Called in on the way back from work round about 4 15 had fish and chips I'm sure it was the night before fish as it had only been open 15 minutes the fish was really dry and grey couldn't eat it £11,40 what a joke it's not like they are penniless but to be using fish from the night before will never be going back

Look great........ Food cold, cheap potatoes used, tasteless. Never again. Don’t use if Aki’s (up the road) is closed - use new oriental or don’t eat - just don’t use this horrendous chip shop.

I have family in the area and went for a walk to do a bit of reminiscing as we live out of town. I have known it was there for many years. We popped in on the way back for a bite to eat, OMFG!!!!! the chips,the best i have had in years and the Chicken !!WELL had the chicken strips THE BEST EVER, this chippy could put KFC out of business, cooked to perfection, the batter seasoning was nothing like i had ever had, mild but with full flavour, juicy and not greasy at all. I was so impressed i actually went back in and told the staff well done. Honestly go and try some, you will go back. well done Triple A, If you ever deliver i will order ...PERFECT!!

Called in for a chippy supper on way home .Although what we had (kebab meat & chips in a tray) tasted quite nice to be honest BUT the portion size left a lot to be desired !They are now serving smaller portions a lot smaller to be honest !!!Making this comment not because we are greedy so and so’s lol But what we had was more like child portions .

Have just waited 50 minutes for my order as the bloke doing pizza' s didn't do it then tried to blame all the women that were serving

This was once my favourite chippy, now I won’t be going back. Been served twice by a very rude Indian lady with long red nails, on two occasions she has not got our order right. Tonight we asked for a three meat mixed kebab.... we got one rasher of doner and a table spoon of each chicken. Asked for the kebabs with chips and she put salad on them, which is so annoying when you drive to the chippy and get home to find your order is wrong. She’s unable to retain information and should be wearing gloves with acrylic nails.

Just been lovely clean shop. But chips and small fish where feet over cooked. Can only think they have been sitting about since lunch time. Shame

While the food here is reasonable, service is painfully slow. You can forgive this to an extent when the place is busy, but due to terrible organisation it’s little better during quiet periods. (On my last visit there was just 1 customer ahead of me, and despite there being 5 members of staff I still stood waiting for 10 minutes before giving up and walking out). With plenty of alternatives locally I’ll be giving this place a miss from now on.

The food was very tasty and the portion size was good too staff were pleasent as well.

First off what chippy doesn't open until 4pm? Also asked for no sauce on chips and they put it on anyway, didn't get a pitta with my kebab even though the menu states you should and curry sauce was like water. Very displeased would not recommend.

Tried to be short changed which failed. Chips were 90% dry & kebab meat was half decent. Avoid!!!
