Just returned from a week at kitty's view lodges up the road and we visited 3 times over the week,The pub has recently re opened after a spell closed. The landlady was really friendly and welcoming. We had 3 meals here including Sunday lunch and honestly enjoyed every meal we had. The portions were large and the prices very reasonable all washed down with some decent ale. The pub is Dog Friendly which was a must for us as we had our very excitable Labrador with us. Keep up the good work!

Visited The Red Lion after recommendations and wasn't disappointed! From entering the hostelry and having a lovely warm and smiling welcome from Molly, we were promptly shown to our table. The restuarant was warm and cosy and spotlessly clean with all the waiting staff dressed smartly in a distinct uniform. Yes there was a little wait but the service and the food was amazing. We had the triple meats roast and couldn't fault the quality of the food, the portions nor how hot it was. We will certainly visit again as this is the best Sunday roast we've had in the Tamworth area since teturning 'home' to live in exactly 1 year .... simply the best ...

This is a lovely place to go for Sunday lunch. The food is always served hot and delicious and the staff are always friendly and attentive. The restaurant has a very homely atmosphere that makes you feel relaxed and comfortable! Especially on the area up the step. Would recommend to friends and family

Four of us went for a meal and despite there being very few people (could see a party of 4, and a few singular guests here and there) there was a "wait on food", which ended up meaning about half an hour for 2 starters and another half an hour for the 4 mains. Food was mostly good, although the steak/ale pie was not well enjoyed, there was slimy lettuce on one meal, and the chicken burger had a cheese square on instead of proper cheddar. At least it was fairly quiet and the staff were very pleasant, however I feel there are better places to eat.

We visit once a month for food and a natter. Tried something different from the new menus this time and it was lovely - but did miss the chicken in a basket option - food came and was nice and hot and well presented. Follow-ups were considerate from the staff.
