A great show with live bands for a good charity

Met up with some old school friends at The Swan. As I was late arriving, (as I usually am), we arrived about an hour before closing. Great little place with excellent music. We decided to go to the Red Lion. What a huge mistake (should have gone to the Bell). The bouncers made my partner, my son and me outside while they were chatting to a group of lads that wanted entry. Alas, they would not let them in. Then they said my son & me could go in but not my partner. No explanation, we had just been waiting as requested. I went in to explain to the rest of our party. Whilst in there, the young bouncer with a beard told me son, "he heard my partner had been swaying", my son asked if he seen this, to which he replied no. My son informed him rightly so, that what he heard & what he seen are 2 different things! We ended up going home at 11:40! By this time I was soaked as it started raining. No wonder the place was empty, with bouncers refusing entry. Get yourself a decent security firm, or you will have no business left.

Lovely location. Staff really friendly. Prices good for area. Garden really lovely and big. Only downside is they don't have hot drinks. Garden been extended and fitted out with lots of benches and tables. Also for Euro football a MASSIVE screen in garden.

Lovely outdoor area. Enjoy a Sunday quiz. Shame it doesn't do food.

Friday night they choose to have a DJ called DJ SKIN. He seemed to do a good job of emptying the place. I was there for one drink because he only played one decent tune . Maybe he should change the second and the forth letters of his name. Go to the Swan they play proper tunes

Had another unbelievable delicious Sunday lunch pork belly and beef sirloin fluffy roast potatoes with proper red wine gravy we can’t wait to return

Sat in the garden and had a few beers, on the way to Sunday dinner. I have eaten here in the past but not lately

The Red Lion has reopened following a refurb. They've still got a reat Guinness. They added Doombar, which is also great. The Red Lion is not a hotel, nor does it serve food (beyond crisps/ nuts). The Red Lion is much busier and fun than previously. Sunday evening has a quiz night. And it's very cheap beer 🍻

Oh hello…. My new found little gem of a pub! INSANELY good food , beautifully presented and taste was exquisite. Can’t wait to come back.

Absolutely fabulous meal .taken there for Mothers day meal by my son. Lovely home cooked food Excellent menu. Will definitely be going back.

Me and my family went to the Red Lion to end our night after being at the wake for a family member. It was a great atmosphere, but towards the end of the night the barman (in the glasses) and the doormen were very disrespectful, with the doormen especially having a rotten attitude towards us. The cider wasn't very nice too. First and last time I'll be going to the Red Lion in Coleshill.

Busy Sunday lunch 3 weeks ago. Quick friendly service for drinks and food. We chose the roast beef with all the trimmings and it was delicious. Thanks to the pub staff for their hospitality.

Great place for catching up with friends or evening your partner and family.

We visited the red lion for my mums 80th and had a fantastic lunch. There were 20 of us and not an easy bunch. Service was amazing and food was fantastic. My only issue was paying £7.50 for extra gravy, when some of the roasts did not have much on them when they were served. Plus we had spent a lot of money in there. That said, it was great gravy! The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was extremely hot and they did so well.

Went for a drink with friends late afternoon bank holiday Monday .Lovely sunny day and it started well until a large group with children arrived ,they were very loud and swore a lot , the kids were somewhat unruly and then a fight broke out with one of their number with someone already at the pub . Took what seemed like an age to break the fight up .These idiots cared not that their was very young children present .Apparently this family are regulars so we won’t be going back and I suspect we won’t be the only ones! Avoid .

We arrived on a very noisy Friday evening to find the bar area overflowing due to it being “happy hour”. Conversation at our table was difficult. We thought the service was slower than expected despite noting that food “ is cooked to order”. Prices for some items were on the high side for essentially pub food but food itself was ok and the portions generous. However the Barnsley Chop I ordered (at £25.50) was extremely tough and despite making the staff aware of this and demonstrated by what was left and inedible on the plate, it did nothing to prompt a response from either the staff or management.

Revamped to good standard beers priced well

Since The Red Lion has had a refurbishment, I was under the impression it was be a ‘Sports Bar’ and cheaper drinks and have a bit more too it then previously, as it was always expensive to drink there and the food wasn’t always 100%. When I arrived to see the new refurbishment, disappointed and dissatisfied is an understatement. There is less seating then what there was previously, the choice of alcohol on draft is disappointing, there are also no more cocktails (!!!!!), the outside area is a complete let down, there is no more canopy or outside heaters, and the lovely beer garden seating with barrels for seats and outside bar have been replaced by bland benches. There is a darts board which I was quite excited about until I realised that it is in a corner near a TV and swamped by tables and chairs, which makes it extremely difficult to play. The drinks are not cheaper and over all are not good quality. We are in desperate need of a fresh modern pub/bar in Coleshill, and unfortunately the new refurbishment has yet again missed the mark.

I was looking for a venue for my wife's late uncle's wake, not being from the area I was struggling to find a venue and with little over 4 days before his service I managed to talk to Mary at The Red Lion. In an instance she took control and organised the booking and the food. Upon arrival after the service the staff were all fantastic and most obliging. They put on a amazing buffet and everyone was so well looked after. Thank you Mary and the proprietors of the Red Lion.

Took my mum and sister here for a Sunday lunch (all veggies) and it was so lovely, we all found the food was incredible and the pub has such a lovely country pub feel to it! So authentic and enjoyable :)

Nice, friendly 'down to earth' pub, and dog friendly which is important to many as they are part of the family.

Since the new management took over, the pub has really gone downhill. I'm not sure they are experienced in running a pub.

Friendly attentive staff and on the whole, a great place that's well run. Unfortunately we had to leave as our group of around 25 packed the place out and it wasn't fair on the locals having a relaxing time.

Outstanding food - best roast I’ve ever had in a pub. There were 10 in our group and everyone enjoyed their meal. We were very well looked after - staff were all kind and welcoming. Atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. We will definitely be going again. Huge thanks to the team there.

Had the most fantastic Sunday roast, 5 of as all differing with choices, all cooked to perfection with large portion sizes No wonder this place has got good reviews what’s not to like! Will definitely be returning soon to try the a La carte menu.

Recently went to this pub when passing by. The food was OK however what I noticed more is this is a typical locals place and very clicky. Not somewhere I would return to if I am honest.

Too noisy, and everyone was crammed in. Despite it being a sunny evening, it's now too cold to enjoy sitting out in the beer garden.

We were looking forward to having a meal here, after reading the reviews, but ended up disappointed, as we were told they aren't doing food at the moment. To be honest, I'm not sure where diners would have been sat anyway. The place was packed and loud. It was too loud for a couple to try to relax on a weekend away.

Popped in for some food.Wasn't expecting much, but had the best fish and chips I've had in a long time. Can't wait to go again . Partner had pizza was also nice

Visited on one of the hottest days of the year and were able to sit outside in the garden where they have an outside bar and plenty of seating. Friendly staff. We ordered pizza to share and it was delicious.

Very good selection of beers and ale. Corona on tap is a pleasant change. Have not yet had the chance to dine in but do enjoy the relaxed atmosphere here and definitely a class above the other establishments locally. Nice outdoor space for the summer. 👍

Always have wonderful food here. Everything is quality. Lovely pub. Plenty of parking. The gardens are continuously being worked on and the front garden is like a little oasis.

Following the death of my partner's father we were looking for a location near Amersham Crematorium to book a reception following the funeral. We chose the Red Lion because it had really good reviews and fitted our criteria. The reviews were well founded. From the first phone call I made I found the owners to be exceptionally friendly and helpful. We anticipated the reception would be for a relatively small number of people but had no real idea how many people would attend the service. I was told not to worry but to give my best estimate and if more people arrived none would go hungry. The menu choices are good and very reasonably priced. As it was a mid afternoon reception we opted for sandwiches and quiche with cakes and tea and coffee and the food was of a really good standard. The cakes, in particular, were delicious. The room was cosy and welcoming with a log fire burning cheerfully and the atmosphere was very relaxing. So many thanks to Barnaby, Phillie, family and staff for helping to make a sad occasion a very pleasant experience. I highly recommend this venue. If it weren't for the fact that we live in Scotland we would plan to become regular visitors and certainly those attending who did live locally and had not previously been aware of the Red Lion were sufficiently impressed to state that they would definitely return for a lunch or dinner.

Stuart and his team were absolutely fantastic in hosting my Wife's birthday celebrations for 15 people. Nothing was too much trouble, food came out immediately and was delicious. Really delicious Sunday meal. 1, 2 or 3 course. Appropriately portioned. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Allow 30mins time however, meals are prepared fresh, but worth it.

My family and I attended the Sunday Lunch launch on 24th October and WOW! Food was delicious and the staff were great. Definitely returning.

Enjoyed live music good atmosphere

We were at the music and food festival weekend.. Saturday afternoon and evening was fantastic, lovely food and craft beers. Music was handled by some great local bands and solo singer's... absolutely great time had by all.

Had live music and pop up food. Was a really brilliant outside area. Plenty of staff available. Security were really welcoming and friendly. 100% going to make this a regular visit from.now on.

Absolutely fantastic food. Not your traditional pub grub, the food is wonderfully put together and everything is made to feel as though your spending twice the amount than you actually are. All of the staff are incredibly nice. Very good selection of beer on tap. Can’t fault anything about it.

Wasn't impressed with the red lion four of us turned up at 12 15 sunday to be told they dont open till 1oclock so we went elsewhere

We walked over to the Red Lion for a drink but would love to try the menu. First time in the Red Lion and we sat in the pub garden. They had a outdoor bar setup and the atmosphere was lovely. We had our dog with us and the staff even brought her a tub of water to drink. We had a lovely afternoon at the red lion and we will definitely be back... Lovely staff, setup and atmosphere.

My girlfriend and myself popped in on Friday 14th May and had a most pleasant surprise when we went into the rear beer garden, tastefully laid out with outdoor bar, pallet and barrel tables, lovely canopy and artificial grass had a brilliant feel to the place, the assistant manager Harrison was a great host and took the time to stop and chat, the barmaid's were also attentive and pleasant and quick to serve, have to say was a thoroughly good experience and would highly recommend if you're in the area to go for a visit.

Had the Two for One offer on Pizzas - lovely and fresh and super tasty. Phone order and collect worked really well, friendly staff - will definitely return! 100% recommend.

Click and collect on beer and food worked perfectly all ready for after our walk. It looked amazing, tasted amazing and all in recyclable packaging! Really impressed, great welcome from the host too

My mate had moved nearby and so we decided to visit for some beers and food after hearing good things about the new management. The new-style corona pints were very good, but the Camden Pale Ale was superb!Food wise we just had several different pizzas which for a Saturday afternoon were 241 (amazing value!) and very good quality! Service was quick & delivered with a smile. Will be back for sure

I decided to take my family to The Red Lion for some food & a few drinks having heard that it was under new management. We were greeted with the warmest of welcomes & the food that was served was not only good value but also delicious. I have to admit the experience was far superior to the ones I have had at the pub previously so I can only conclude that the new management must be doing something right ... will definitely be back!
