Great food, lovely staff and brilliant garden!

Never had food from there but they host s bike meet every Wednesday absolutely amazing 👏

Overall okay, however food could be better. Fish&chips came unseasoned and with raw chips. Waiter ignored request for ketchup. Jockey Burger did not have any sauce and had saggy bread so the burger was falling apart straight away. This made eating it virtually impossible. Decent beer selection, though, and the place is pleasant.

Had to wait 1.5h for food as software 'went down', it could have been longer had I not enquired. Kids then overtired and frustrated waiting. No offer of food in meantime.

Back again with the family for another excellent dinner. Good customer service and great value for money meals and drinks available and we all left full. Liver and Onions was really good 👍

Esta es la segunda vez que hemos estado aquí desde Navidad y fue tan encantador como la hora de la calle 1. Gran almuerzo de domingo cocinado en casa, caliente, un montón de ella, bien presentado y servido con grandes sonrisas (especialmente de la señora que dirige el pub). Seguido de un gran desierto que tenía un precio razonable (difícil de encontrar en los restaurantes de hoy). ¡Absolutamente volveré para la trilogía muy pronto!

No volveremos a aquí llegamos con un 6 : 35 para nuestra reserva a las 6 : 45 solo había otro ejemplar en el comedor. Pedimos a las 6: 45 y esperó y esperó cuando preguntamos a las 7. 50 donde estaba nuestra comida nos dijeron que el pedido no había sido enviado a la cocina y que la comida sería otros 20 minutos. Muy decepcionante y muestra una falta de atención a los clientes y conciencia del cliente

Amazing meal on new years day with family..food and service were both excellent 👌

Era nuestra reunión familiar anual para nuestra noche de Navidad. Desde el momento en que llegamos el servicio fue excelente, atento y acogedor. Todos tuvimos una comida de 3 platos que tuvimos pre-ordenado de su menú de Navidad. Era abundante, caliente y totalmente delicioso, platos claros por todas partes. Sin duda volveremos.

Reservado para una cena de cumpleaños “Steak Night”. Buen filete, postre agradable, ligeramente empañado por el concurso de pub LOUD al lado y la puerta de paso constantemente se deja abierta por el personal. Seguí levantándome de mis invitados y de la mesa para cerrarlo. Pista no tomada 9 veces, no es ciencia de cohetes. ¿Ponen puertas por una buena razón o solo decoración ornamental?

Precioso restaurante reformado. La comida era absolutamente excelente, caliente sabroso y un montón de ella. El personal era eficiente y no podía ser más servicial. Teníamos menú de Navidad, era brillante.

I've eaten here three times now, and each time the food has been absolutely superb. The best way to describe it, is that you feel these are dishes that have been created by the pub, and cooked with care and love. You feel as though you're eating a professional meal, as opposed to the standard pub fair you find so often, if that makes sense? I seldom bother to write reviews, but the food here really does deserve it. As a bonus extra, the staff are always really friendly and helpful, the decor is modern, it's dog friendly, and easy to find. This was the third pub I tried in this area, and I haven't been back to any of the others, and that's not to say there was anything wrong with them - this place just has that 'extra' that you seldom find.

Visitamos un sábado por la noche y esta fue nuestra cuarta visita, cada vez antes estábamos contentos con la comida y nos estábamos convirtiendo en habituales, sin embargo, el sábado pasado había una celebración de 40 años en la zona del bar y no le importó esperar un poco más de lo habitual porque obviamente estaba bastante ocupado. Sin embargo, no esperábamos que nos sirvieran la comida que hicimos. Una de las comidas que pedimos fue el pastel de carne que se quemó más allá del consumo. El filete estaba tan quemado que no se podía poner un tenedor, cortarlo o comerlo, se parecía a trozos duros de carbón. La camarera obviamente se dio cuenta de que algo no estaba bien al quitar nuestros platos, ya que todo el pastel estaba intacto, pero mi padre, que está en sus 70, se molesta con la idea de quejarse, así que pagamos y nos fuimos amablemente, pero después de haber pensado que habíamos encontrado un nuevo lugar regular para comer, ahora no volveremos. Aprecio que estuviera ocupado, pero hubiera preferido que dijeran que se habían quedado sin pastel y ofrecer una alternativa en lugar de dejar que algo no comestible saliera de su cocina. Me avergonzaría servirlo y sentiría que es el deber del chef evitar que salga de su cocina. Muy decepcionado.

It was good quality food and we enjoyed it. But pick your times, the queue for the carvery at peak demand was just insane

Great, friendly pub offering good, honest home cooking. Went for Sunday lunch which was superb, and hot (one of my must haves). Staff were great and the lady lady was on hand checking everything was as it should be. Definitely returning!

We visited for a traditional Sunday roast. We had not been here for a few years. We decided to try again, as the place is under new management. We booked a table which is advisable, as the place was very busy. The staff were welcoming, friendly and very organised. The dinner was lovely with a good amount of meat and selection of root roasted vegetables, with very large Yorkshire pudding. The food was very tasty and the service was good. It was quick to get served at the bar and a good selection of ales, kept well! We will certainly be returning! Good Value!!

The kids were exited as they seen the inflatable obstical course, they went in and got soaking wet. There was also alot of dog poo on the grass and very minimal food left and was only 1.30 in the afternoon. Very disappointed 😞

Chose to visit based on location and because it showed online it was wheelchair accessible. There was a step from the car park to the outdoor area that we had to lift wheelchair up, there was then a nice ramp into the pub. Unfortunately if you are a wheelchair user there are no toilets for you as you have to go down 2 steps. Nice pub with nice food and atmosphere, unfortunately not really wheelchair accessible.

12 of us went for Sunday lunch, Had to organise pre-order food but well worth it 👍 All the staff were very accommodating, food was great

Nice location. However the service and food was a bit of a disappointment. At first we had to sit inside for a full menu option. Outside was only served with fast food such as burger at 5£, which is however charged inside at 13£. Some snacks were not available. We ordered nachos, which then was not available but we still got charged for them. Whole dinner of 4 people cost us 92£ more then we payed in London. But they had a playground (jumping castle) for the kids which was nice.

Visited the Horse and Jockey back in December and was flawless. Really good no issues. I thought I'd give it another go as I enjoyed last time. WOW!! First of all they couldn't find our booking, ok these things happen. They did give a free round of drinks for the inconvenience, but then managed to find us a table. We ordered the food. Good portions, but, there has to be a but. The fish and chips, nice piece of fish, but the chips were already salted. Very salty. The pie mash and peas, we ordered chips instead of mash, but again it came out with mash and then they brought a side of chips. Carb overload. The pie itself was nice, cold in the middle. They need to get their microwave working and check food temperatures. Lasagna was very salty and the faggots were very lackluster. We were not offered dessert and this is the clincher......went to the bar and ordered a pint, half and a small red wine. The pint and half, not an issue. The red wine, the bottle finished and there was around 80 mls in the glass. They charged for a glass of wine which was under the measure of 125 ml. I had to ask for a refund. And refuse the drink. Weights and measures comes to mind. Would I go back. Not sure, was it just a one off or have things really changed there and gone drastically downhill.

Appalling place, food is well below standard, felt ill after eating here,. Order 2 ploughman's. When put on table was told we have no cheese. Shouldn't that have been before and pork pie was rancid awful .

Haven't been for a few years so as we were passing we thought we would stop and have lunch here. Instantly we did not like the new decor, very cold and uninspiring.. ordered a trio of sausages with mashed potato and a burger. Well, the sausage and mash arrived with a pot of mushroom sauce, because they didn't have any gravy. ..an eatery with no gravy!!.. also thought it was pricey.. 12.95 for 3 sausages and mash potato.. Will not be rushing back...

Popped in Only wanted to have a light lunch, so ordered the scotch egg salad ... requested mayonnaise which i can only assume was somewhere far away with time taken .. while waiting I noticed there were slices of chilli in within the salad leaves ,in fact on closer inspection there were over a dozen pieces , not good when there is no mention of this on the menu ..had there been i wouldn't have ordered the meal, so my "salad" consisted of scotch egg & chips pinched off my husbands plate ,!! When bringing this to the attention of 2 members of staff the only response was “ oh sorry about that”…. Apparently putting chilli in a meal but making no mention of it on the menu is ok ..let’s hope the next person doesn’t have an allergic reaction

Lovely staff. Pork Sunday lunch came without crackling and crushed apple sauce as described but soon sorted when this was pointed out. Roast beef was lovely. Enjoyed all desserts. Everyone very pleasant including bar staff. Thankyou

Cannot imagine who wrote these reviews! 54 of them! They must be made up surely I don’t write reviews but had to! If you are contemplating going to this venue for food, ! you will leave feeling like you have just wasted a ton of money. I have used this pub for many years the staff are great without a doubt, the drinks are fine punters are sociable. Over the last 40 years it has had many landlords, I’ve watched them come and go some good some not. Never stopped me from trying the menu, hit and miss which is to be expected with such a turn around of managers. This is not a bad pub and I will continue to go for a pint the quality of food is below par and the prices are ridiculous. By eating here after reading the reviews is not fair. the motorbike meets on a Wednesday don’t phase me however great pub is going to go down the pan and customers won’t return based on the food. They need to push for the pub that does a good pint and snacks and the odd entertainment event and great place to take the kids on a weekend, please don’t visit for the food visit for the food you will be disappointed.

I always drive past and decided to stop by with my daughter, I know it’s just had a refit and it looks beautiful! The decor is very calming, welcoming and clean. We actually came on a Wednesday when all the bikers were there and I expected it to be really busy, I was really pleasantly surprised when we walked in as all of the bikers outside and the inside was quiet and peaceful. We ordered x2 fish and chips and some non alcoholic drinks. The wait time was fine and the food was amazing! The chips were huge, which is better than the skinny fries and much healthier, the fish was very tasty. Everything came out hot. Couldn’t ask for better service all staff smilie friendly and helpful.

My friend and I arrived 2:30pm just as they had finished serving food ... the cook kindly made us a delicious main course and dessert. It's all u want from a country pub

My partner and I visited this absolute gem today and the warm welcome and food is first class. The food tasted amazing and couldn’t be faulted. Thank you for a lovely evening

Visited the horse and jockey last night for the first time in a good few years and we really weren't impressed. Waited around half an hour for our mains which was an acceptable amount of time to wait. Ordered sausage chips and beans for my daughter, sausages were cremated to the point I could not even get a knife through them, they did replace them when I asked so this was sorted no problem. I ordered the lasagne, which was very small, barely any sauce I could have made better myself. Also the chips were nice but they already had salt on them and some were extremely salty to the point I couldn't eat them. My toddlers were the same, luckily she doesn't eat chips, should not be doing this to children's meals. The worst part of the experience was the service. It seemed they had about 3 menus for the entire pub, four times we had to ask for a menu between the mains and puddings. My daughter got free ice cream with her meal so we decided to order puddings, really wish we hadn't bothered. A 50 minute wait for some ice cream was beyond a joke, we could see the staff were busy but it was just ridiculous. Asked the waitress after about 35 minutes and she said yes one minute, still waited another 15 and I was about 30 seconds away from saying forget it we don't want them. Very poor service, we went to the bar to pay the bill because it probably would have been another half hour wait if we'd sat at the table. Very poor service and we won't be returning which is a shame but service really needs to improve. Also one other point we sat in the restaurant area next to a fire exit which was padlocked with a huge chain around the bars. Surely this is illegal and against health and safety?

Only giving 3 stars because we ordered 7 Sunday lunches which were fabulous. But we were only given the smallest bowl of cauliflower cheese .It was put one end of the table by a young man who didn’t say it was for the whole table. Couple of friends shared it thinking like the veg the other guests had their own bowl .for it to serve 7 would have had to chop the florets in half . When we questioned this we were told that we would have to pay for more .then an even smaller bowl came out and the cost was added to the bill . There was 9 guests and with the meals , pudding and we all had at least 3 drinks each very expensive lunch . And to embarrass the guests that had been give the bowl in the beginning was very poor customer service.we visited your pub on Sunday 24th March .booking name Sharon Johns .

Bought some friends here for a catch up and had some food. Most had the Fish and Chips which was cooked nicely. Portion sizes were good and staff were very friendly and accommodating.

We had a lovely walk from the village hall where we were staying for a Saturday afternoon drink. Very warm welcome and the atmosphere was great. They were setting up for a special birthday… Happy birthday Bear from us - hope you had an awesome evening. We didn’t eat but the chips the table next to us had for a snack looked and smelled great. I am sure we will be back again at some point.

It was a family dinner with 10 of us at 345 on a Sunday. The service was outstanding and the food was just as brilliant. Lots of very tasty food, good amounts. Will definitely be back

The food was really nice and hot. You get your moneys worth of food. Only trouble was the staff were more interested in chatting to each other and watching the rugby rather than customer service and i had to wait for them to finish watching tv to take my payment, even after passing our table 5 times after bill had been given.

They put a lovely buffet on for my Dads Wake and I would highly recomend them to others.

Visited this pub last night. Lovely warm and friendly atmosphere, we were spoken to immediately by a member of staff who was very pleasant and helpful. After being shown to our table drinks were ordered and came promptly. The meal selection is great with a little bit of everything for everyone. We ordered the black and blue burger, house curry, fish pie and sausage and mash. What a meal! All the food was piping hot, looked amazing with generous portion sizes and tasted fantastic. Our compliments to the chef. We were only visiting the area for a couple of days and found this pub online. Will definitely visit again when we are back. We highly recommend this pub to everyone it was a real pleasure to visit.

What a gem. Used to visit years ago, it's been updated since last we were in. Lunchtime special is a great deal, food really well presented, nice and hot and best of all really tasty at a great price. Would definitely recommend and will be returning 👌

Just had a beautiful fish and chips lunch today, Wednesday 18th. I asked for the fish to be fried with no batter, as I sometimes find batter too filling. The fish was lovely, very tasty, there were plenty of perfectly cooked chips and the mushy peas were great, too. I had two cups of Americano coffee which were hot and delicious. Add the attentive and prompt service, this was a very nice experience. We have already booked for next month. Thank you all.

Delicious roast dinner with fantastic service.

Lovely Sunday Lunch here and so much food for the money! Had the roast beef with Yorkshire pudding which was really tasty but I could only manage half of it despite trying my best to finish! We sat inside which was comfortable and had music playing with sports on the TV (muted) as we were keeping out of the sun, outside seating was busy though and there was even a visitor with a horse there when we got in. Good selection of drinks and friendly staff. Service was quick and toilets were clean. Would be happy to go back.

We visited this pub and had a meal here. The food was absolutely fantastic. We had a burger and vegetarian bangers and mash. The food arrived piping hot and it was delicious. Large helpings and good price. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend.

Mega Service, leckeres Essen. Man hat uns sogar auf dem Parkplatz übernachten lassen. Selten im Leben so einen Spaß und schönen Abend verbracht. Kommt her, lernt die Leute kennen und genießt tolle Zeit hier. Absolut für Hundebesitzer zu empfehlen. Draußen ist eine riesige eingezäunte Wiese zum Toben für Kinder und Hunde. Und in den Kneipenbereich dürfen die vierbeinigen Freunde auch. Great service, delicious food. They even let us sleep in the parking lot. Rarely in my life had such a fun and beautiful evening. Come, meet the people and have a great time here. Absolut dod friendly. You can bring your friend also inside. A great Yard for playimg is available for Kids and dogs.

Usually we enjoy going there but yesterday was a huge disappointment with the food. It was not done as asked for and the “compensation “ promised didn’t even happened. Anyways we may go for drinks again but defo no food!!

Having taken a diversion following the closure of the M42, we came across the Horse & Jockey for dinner. The staff were very welcoming. The menu was good and we enjoyed two very well presented two courses. We will definitely visit again and add Corley to our route maps.

The two course daily roast gives you a choice of soup and dinner or dinner and a dessert. We chose the latter, and thoroughly enjoyed the large well presented meals. Excellent value at £12. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful meal here, the staff were friendly and welcoming. They obviously have a good bunch of regulars who make for a great atmosphere. Well priced food too.

Great pub.. always a great welcome

Went into the Horse and Jockey early Thursday evening meals start at 1700. We both had Gammon egg and chips, extra onion rings, all cooked well tasted lovely. Thought the chips were little frozen ones instead of homemade as advertised, but they were cooked well and very nice. Deserts were OK but we thought a bit expensive for portion size. very nice, though. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Food was served quickly and efficiently by the sysff who were very helpful and pleasant, would recommend a visit.

Food was absolutely horrendous.The steak looked grey chips were soggy, Sausage was like a bullet. They had no fish no salsa. Buffalo wings had the most dreadful BBQ sauce on them. Would not recommend.

Great staff, not much, non alcoholic drinks to choose from, but I managed. Great pub, big back garden that you can sit outside. Could do with sprucing up in the garden to be honest, but it's OK
