Nice vibe, clean, tidy, good service. Food pretty good. £25 for a quite nice chicken ceasar salad and chips in is punchy in my view but...hey ..everything is subjective. That's life I guess! Give it a whirl and see what you think.

A favourite restaurant when visiting the area, never disappoints. Hadn’t been for breakfast before so was looking forward to it. The menu has a great selection, the staff were friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was really lovely. Coffees arrived promptly and the food shortly afterwards, perfect. My lighter breakfast was spot on, every element of excellent quality and cooked perfectly. My friends’ breakfasts looked equally delicious. I honestly couldn’t fault it and I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

After a recommendation, we went and tried the breakfast. Simple order of 2 full brekkies and 2 teas. Having read the mixed reviews, we nearly cancelled but in the end, we turned up. Once you are on the grounds, there are no signs for the Fig and Olive even once you step inside the building. We found it. got seated. It's nice in there. Lovely feel to it and we felt comfortable in there and was an impressive start. Food arrived. Looked good. Took pics as you are legally supposed to in 2024. The wife didn't want her tomato and black pud. Don't worry...I had them. Food did arrive very quickly so cant imagine it was all cooked to order. We both enjoyed the breks immensely and everything was cooked well. I had scrambled eggs and will have them on my next visit but they were a little weird. Mushrooms were cold. A full English at this price is something that should be perfect and it almost was. The sourdough was lovely as was the butter that came with it. The wife needed more butter. We will definitely return and they have just gained two new possible regular customers. However, we will wait and see as many customers have left mixed reviews about when they have returned. A few replies to some of the reviews would also give the impression that they are actually bothered about customers. Will we return? Yes Will we recommend it? Yes

My wife and I had breakfast here yesterday as part of her birthday celebrations. The food was terrible, the bacon was uncooked and tepid (we took it home for the dog) the black pudding was just cold (dog got that as well). I ordered two fried eggs which were over cooked and my wife ordered poached eggs with hers, they were like golf balls and tasted very of vinegar. Anyway enough about the poor food. The coffee was good as were the staff who were very attentive albeit they were useless when I complained about things. We really like this place but it is the second time we have had a bad experience so I guess we won't be visiting again. All in all £50+ wasted on a breakfast. We could have got a better breakfast at the McDonalds down the road at least it would have been warm. Now I know they may well say they are short of staff, which is no excuse! I am fed up hearing it! Equally they may It may not be short handed and the kitchen staff are just incompetent either way it's not a good advert for a place that WAS previously so good. Anyway try harder you aren't a roadside caravan! People will only tolerate rubbish service for so long!

Portion sizes noticeably smaller and not worth the money. We didn't even need a doggy bag ! We compared photos of the 2 visits ,a considerable difference. Food: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Service: 1 Subject: Disappointing Service Experience at Fig & Olive We returned to Fig & Olive for our second visit with high expectations, only to leave deeply disappointed due to the substandard service we received. Unfortunately, certain members of the Fig & Olive team demonstrated a level of service that is simply not acceptable in a customer-facing role. While there were some positives—namely, the quality and flavor of the food and desserts (with the exception of the cheesecake, which I would not recommend)—these were overshadowed by the numerous service failures that occurred throughout our visit. Despite our group consisting of only 5 adults and 2 children, we were forced to wait an unacceptable 90 minutes for our food to arrive. When we inquired about the delay, the waitress promised to check on our order but failed to follow through or update us. The eventual arrival of our food did little to improve the situation. The waitress who brought our meals gave the distinct impression that she did not want to be there. She neglected to ask if we needed any condiments, and when we requested them, it took asking twice before they were delivered—only to be unceremoniously dumped at one end of the table. Throughout our meal, no one checked to see if everything was satisfactory, and after finishing our mains, we waited an additional 20 minutes before anyone came to ask if we would like dessert. When some of our party did order dessert, we experienced another long wait, again without any follow-up to ensure we were satisfied. The final disappointment came when we expressed our concerns to a team member who identified themselves as part of the management. The response was underwhelming and failed to instill any confidence that the issues we raised would be addressed. The entire experience highlighted the ineffectiveness of the team. Regrettably, based on this experience, I can no longer recommend Fig & Olive and will not be returning.

Starter of chorizo scotch egg was amazing and sea bass main was also of a high standard. Service and staff were attentive and atmosphere and surroundings really warm and cosy. My only criticism was that we had to remind the staff that the mussels came with bread, we then had a tiny piece of toast served up on a plate. Also, for my taste, I found the salmon teriyaki to be almost unbearably sweet (like maple syrup). Overall would go again but maybe order a different main.

I’ve been before for breakfast which was lovely however we returned yesterday with a group of 12 for my sisters birthday. The staff were lovely, very attentive although the drinks were very slow to the table after they’d taken our drinks order. Overall everyone was happy with the starters and mains however my starter The Fig and Parmaham Salad arrived with no fig. The mozzarella were the cheap mini mozzarella balls you get in a bag. After asking the waiter where are my figs he returned with a bowl of cold and looking old figs which I had to then put on myself no real apology. The salad was heavily oiled but on the whole tasted ok. Unfortunately for me the mains let it down I chose the Monkfish and king Prawn curry. The aesthetics were good however there was no real sauce to it which is a shame as this curry on the menu is £30. Me and my sister the birthday girl both had the same. We asked for some more sauce which they were very accommodating and brought 1 small pot of sauce out which the birthday girl had first so I asked for another hence the 2 curry’s and they said it’s all gone. Not the end of the world, upon eating the one king prawn with head and tail had no flavour some prawns were dry some were nice and the monkfish was very nice just not really much of it. The rice was dry or just steamed and not sticky as promised. They were kind enough to remove the 2 meals off the bill however after all the time wasted there was 2 people that left without eating the meals they’d intended to eat when dining out. A real shame as this place is an enjoyable place to dine.

While visiting Tamworth, I noticed this restaurant had great reviews, so I decided to give it a try, and it truly exceeded my expectations! The restaurant's décor is stylish and comfortable, and dining outdoors on such a beautiful day was a real treat. Sunday is all about roast, so I ordered the roast beef and crispy pork belly—both were excellent! I swear it’s the best Yorkshire pudding I’ve ever had. I requested the dry aged sirloin beef to be on the pink side, and it was incredibly tender with just the right amount of fat, making it unforgettable. The crispy pork belly, with its crunchy skin and succulent layer of fat, was a guilty pleasure! Their gravy is, without a doubt, the best I’ve tasted at any restaurant. After the meal, I explored their shop, which has a lovely selection of home goods, and their farm shop, which includes a butcher and a bakery.

We called here to look for a piece for our mantle and got caught up in the whole place. It is as a whole very well presented. Right from the nice carpark to the cash desk. It's a pleasure to wander around. An excellent stock of plants well presented well cared for. After a walk around the outside we stopped in the restaurant for a meal. Instant service and not too long a wait. Both meals were very enjoyable and not as expensive as expected for a restaurant as nice as this with a choice of indoor and outdoor seating. There are a few very good shops here and we called in to the food hall. There is a large selection of food from meats to veg with everything in between. You can spend a lot of time here which we did. We even found what we came for. Definitely worth a visit.

I had been wanting to visit here for a long time and finally was able to go. I visited with my husband 18 month son and mother in law. Our table was booked a week or 2 in advance, we advised we would need a high chair. We were promptly seated and we asked if we could have a high chair, the server went away presumably to get one. They did not return to the table. When our drink and food order was taken we again asked for a high chair. We were told yes ill get one. This person again did not return until serving our food. I believe my husband approached someone again and asked for a chair and was told there was a large party in that were using the chairs so they were struggling to find one. My son was running about the restaurant as an 18 month old would but fortunately we were seated right by the outside and he was able to have a bit of space to play. Our food arrived and there was still no high chair. I was unable to enjoy my food or eat it when it was hot as I had to have my son on my lap so he could eat his stag bol. This ruined the meal for me. My son didn't want to stay sat in my lap so I was then taking it in turns with my husband to go outside with our son. From what I had of my meal it was delicious it's just a shame we couldn't all eat together and were up and down throughout the visit. Also the food was cold by time of eating. We did on one occasion have a staff member approach the table and apologise about the lack of chair. My husband and Mil were near finishing their food when a high chair appeared. Whilst I was outside with our son a server asked how our food was. My husband told the server we were unable to enjoy it due to our son not being able to be seated properly. We just received a verbal apology. We had coffee after and were not given any sugar. My husband approached the coffee bar and asked for sugar and the man making our drinks seemed really annoyed. He briefly looked up and grimaced and then pointed to another server. I understand he was busy but customer service? I know it might seem easy to say 'control your son to sit at a table' but it's a lot easier said than done for some toddlers. I was left disappointed by the experience and seemed like an inconvenience. But I highly rate the food.

Don’t bother going here unless you’re ‘a regular’ My friend booked us a table about a month before we were due to have lunch here. When we arrived we were offered a table in the ‘walk way’. As we haven’t seen each other for a while, we wanted a quiet place to have a chat so we asked to be moved to a more sheltered spot in the restaurant. Despite the restaurant being fairly empty, we were told all the other tables had already been booked by their ‘regular customers’. After much searching by the waiter, we were eventually offered another table in an appropriate spot in the nearly empty restaurant. When we asked how to become a member of this ‘exclusive’ ‘ regular customer’ club, as there were no visible numbers assigned to the tables, we were told the regular customers knew the table number but the waiter who attended us was not allowed to give these out presumably because they were ‘top secret’ We were there for over an hour and most of the tables in the restaurant remained vacant during that time! Needless to say we felt discriminated against as we were not ‘regulars’ hence it was ok to offer us a sub-standard table in restaurant. The food was mediocre at best and there was a long gap between finishing our starters and being brought our mains. I don’t thnk I’ll be returning to this restaurant again as only patrons who are ‘regular’ are treated properly and made to feel welcome.

The menu is great and the staff always friendly and efficient. The selection of shops within the garden centre are, in my opinion, so lovely and full of quality items. The Forage is a great place to pick up those things that you can’t find any where else, it’s like a contemporary farm shop. The garden centre also always has a great selection. The art shop is lovely (although I’ve never been able to purchase anything but the displays are really special) and the other shop again has off the wall gifts and you can always find something you didn’t know you needed 😉

Don't bother with the misnamed 'onion and pepper hash' side dish, it turned out to be quartered new potatoes, sauted with 2 small slices of pepper, I did not see any onions. We sent ours back and explained it not was not what we were expecting when we ordered it but we're told "that's what we serve". They brought our belreakfasts out dropped them off and walked off, I couldn't catch anyone's eye and eventually had to go and find someone to ask for sauces. 4 of us had lunch there yesterday for my friend's birthday. After 30 mins, we asked if we could order drinks, surely they should've asked us! The waiting staff were very miserable, not even a smile or happy birthday to my friend, who had a balloon and cake, so it was pretty obvious it was a birthday celebration! Again no one asked us if we were ready to order, we had to call a waitress over to order! No one came to check if the food was OK either, just standard etiquette these days in good pubs/restaurants. The food was very good, no complaints there at all. Just feel they need to up their game a little with their serving staff.

Really good food and nice place. Word of warning about the highchairs though - they are strangely low and put babies at eye level with the sharp table edge - same problem in the form shop cafe.

It was overpriced for the quality of food but the surroundings were nice. The service was poor, we were missing side plates, cutlery, and some drinks never arrived. The waitresses were friendly though.

Whilst somewhat expensive, a really lovely place and quality foods. The farm shop adjacent is similar expensive but very good. The little garden centre has some nice plants . Pleasant , smiling, friendly staff in gift shop. Very nice place.

Had afternoon tea here for 3 people on a Saturday afternoon. The food was very nice, however we felt there could’ve been more sandwiches as it was mostly sweet cakes. 1 in the party also stated they were lactose intolerant, and so they were served a Vegan option. I find this a bit disappointing as these dietary requirements are quite different, and as a result everything was vegetarian as well. As for the service, this was quite awful. We were still waiting to pay 20 mins after being given the bill, despite the restaurant being quiet. Also no plates or cups were cleared out of the way at any point, and we had to request additional cutlery and crockery for sweet/savoury, and for a nice restaurant this service feels very poor. We were also completely unaware that included you get unlimited hot and cold drinks - better customer communication is definitely needed. Overall, the service could be vastly improved for £30 per head. Nice cakes though.

I feel bad leaving a two star review but to charge 9 quid for a sausage butty (and they don't even toast the bread) seems a bit ridiculous. Sorry

Had the worst scramble egg ever here today, could only describe it as rubber egg. Totally inedible, unseasoned, not just mine but both portions ordered. Only offered a free drink as compensation, but already had two warm, not hot drinks didn't want to risk it, and was a bit insulted with that offer anyway. The focus needs to be on quality not quantity, very disappointing and would not recommend.

I was served in the gift shop by a young man called Tom. He was the perfect assistant. Courteous, friendly and extremely helpful. I just wish all my shopping experiences were as pleasurable. Please give him a promotion and a pay rise as soon as possible.

We went for my mums birthday as it was highly rated. The table was booked for 7.15 pm on the Friday night we ordered our drinks which took over 20 mins to arrive and then ordered our food which was one starter to share between the 5 of us and 5 main courses The starter took over an hour to get to us and then while we were still eating the starter the mains came out to us! There place itself want the warmest as it was a cold evening and I was glad to get in the car to warm up at the end of the meal! The main courses came out to us as I was still tucking into the starter and my mums fish and chips came out they forgot to bring the peas out which we had to ask them for! One of the party specifically asked for the pizza to not have the chilli on it and it came out with chilli all over it! Ruining her meal! As the food is very expensive here you would have expected some kind of compensation on the bill after telling them of our poor experience and we did an embarrassing 25% off the pizza which came to £4 off it! If it was me I would have refused to pay for the pizza as it spoilt my mums birthday celebration! Slow and poor service here and it needs to improve the ambience by increasing the temperature! Food was good but very overpriced for what you actually got! A disappointing experience I’m afraid!

One of my favourite brunch and lunch spots. Visited yesterday with a group of mums - we were given plenty of room for pram and highchairs which was appreciated! Lunch was delicious and we had good service too.

Can’t fault this place. Great choice for vegan options……although could be more but if you don’t have enough demand you don’t supply. Indoor restaurant is very well established and comfortable and the outdoor is an absolute must do when the weather warms up and you can enjoy a snack….. lunch……drink…..dinner all in a tree surrounded courtyard that lets the sun shine all day. Staff are very easy to get along with. Very natural but very professional. All around a warm relaxing place to go. I’m from Australia and I like to treat myself with somewhere to go to be able to relax and chill out…….and catch a bite to eat with a beer……… can’t go better than here.

We adore the garden centre and the little array of shops. It was the first time we had eaten at the Fig & Olive and we actually did enjoy the food, however found it a little expensive for the quality of service we received. We had to prompt the servers for our drink order and ask how long our food would be after seeing many other tables get served before us. The restaurant wasn’t at full capacity, however we had to wait 45 minutes for our meal and both my husband and I were not served at the same time. We waited after we finished eating and nobody cleared our empty dishes until we had left. Our server however was lovely and the main host was apologetic and very friendly. I think we may just have experienced a glitch on the day we visited.

My first visit here (with friends who have been before) an evening before Christmas week. Lovely spacious surroundings in a complex of garden centre, farm shop, art and crafts and restaurant with outside seating available in good weather Excellent food at reasonable prices. Friendly attentive service from all staff. My only slight criticism would be that the good and comprehensive wine list is a bit more costly than some. Looking forward to another visit.
