One of my favourite places to go and it’s dog friendly too. The staff are so welcoming and the owners have done a great job restoring the buildings. Ideal for breakfast, snacks, cuppas and they also do a cracking Sunday dinner. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed which is another reason we keep going back. Nice family run business which we will keep supporting.

I literally fell in love with this place from the moment we pulled up! The building is stunning, you can see it’s been restored with love and care. The interior is super cute with lots of the original features still in place and little glimmers of its school house past. There is even an amazing little flower shop on site. We landed without a booking and the guys thankfully squeezed us in, despite it being incredibly busy. We opted for the winter broth with crusty bread, which was so tasty and just what we needed after a chilly walk along the river. After seeing the desserts coming from the kitchen we both decided we couldn’t not sample them. My lemon drizzle cheesecake was unreal, the biscuit was sweet and crunchy and the topping a creamy, zesty delight. The staff really made our visit, they were so friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend giving them a try, we can’t wait to come back for the Sunday lunch as it looked tremendous.

Pre booked for the 1300 lunch slot. We were seated but it was 1330 before someone took our order. Drinks selection was very limited and the young lady did not know what drinks were available so I ended up with water. The same young lady took our order but the couple on the next table had been waiting longer & this caused a bit of friction. The food arrived and was very tasty and seasoned well, large jug of gravy went down well. I’m not sure if everyone else FOH had worked late the night before or had been under pressure before we came in but they were incredibly scatty. No knives and forks given, asking people who were waiting to order mains if they would like to order deserts and the confusion went on. We were going to have deserts and coffee but did not want to add any further stress to the people working so we went to the till and got the receipt. Great food but FOH needs help.

The inside and surroundings of the tea shop is lovely. Unfortunately the food on offer is certainly not. It is very below par, and if homemade as advertised I would suggest the chef needs to be retrained. The Quiche Lorraine looked anaemic, was watery, had soggy pastry and tasted bland. The beef brisket sandwich wasn’t much better, all bread and little filling. And not to mention the absolute lack of presentation on both orders.

Called here with a friend for a bite to eat and a cup of tea. Both of us chose the soup with the ham hock and a bread roll and tea. The tea came in the smallest teapot and was only sufficient for one cup. Extra hot water to top this up would have been charged at £1.50. The soup at best was lukewarm. We complained about the temperature and it was taken away. When a fresh bowl was returned it wasn’t much hotter. I would have sent that back too if I hadn’t been so embarrassed. Very disappointing.

Very poor experience. Wanted 2 coffees and 2 treats, not much to ask for. I wanted a weak Americano, so needed extra hot water. An extra £1.50. My friend wanted a strong Americano, so an extra shot- no choice of 1 or 2 shot Americano, which is standard in most coffee shops. For this, she'd have had to pay an extra £2.50, which the waitress cheerily told us in the tone if " its a bargain". We weren't expecting the Ritz, the building and decor are great, well restored, but we do object to being " ripped off"

I have just walked in to this fish and chip shop. The girl behind the counter looked at me walking in as she was rubbing and scratching her nose!! Then quickly flicked something off the paper that the food is going to be wrapped up in!!! Was a dry boggie!! Then she proceeded to ask me what I wanted. I asked her to wash her hands!!! She went out the back . The owner said nothing . I asked for my money back and canceled my order. DISGUSTING!

We did the Paw-fect valentine sniff-ari at Dobbies Atherstone. The host of the dog event, Lucia, was really friendly and showed great customer service. We were really happy with the doggy gift bag, photos taken which we were given a QR code to access and download for free. The cafe was nice and it's a good shop too.
