The best restaurants serving British food in Wiltshire South West

Here today for Sunday lunch with our granddaughter. The roasts were excellent, the vegetables hot and plentiful and the gravy was to die for!! Even though there were still very full tables the service was great. Drinks ordered and delivered quickly and the food was equally speedy. Happily go again, but hope the two Dads with their toddlers don't go again at the same time!!!!!

I arranged a walk round Wilton followed by lunch at The Swan. I didn’t expect a huge number of people but a lot turned up including 14 who wanted lunch. Despite not having booked in advance, we were all able to have lunch in the Swan and we were all very impressed with the food we had. The portions were generous and delicious. The staff were also friendly and helpful.

Absolute Gem of a Freehouse pub. Made very welcome by the Landlord, Charlie and the family. Food only at the weekends. The quintessential village pub!

We were the only ones there on a Saturday night . Very limited menu . The soup tasted like it came from a can and only 2 choices of dessert . Both didn’t taste nice . Will definitely not be going there again .

Hidden gem, can't believe I've never been here before. The food was spectacular, including the vegan options. The staff were so attentive and friendly, it was like being waited on by family. Highly recommended, we'll definitely be going back

Beautiful lunch with friends today and such a warm welcome. We all had fish dishes which were beautifully cooked and presented, and the rhubarb pavlova dessert was to die for. Looking forward to the next time

Myself and my friend love this restaurant so much. :) we haven't been out together in a long while but absolutely love it here and have been to the restaurant lots of times over the years. We were not disappointed on this visit either. We didn't book although every table was nearly in use they still managed to fit us in. :) great service I can't recommend it here enough. :) The chicken supreme was amazing as was the Thai green curry that my friend had. Thanks so much again all. We hope to be back very soon.

Really lovely pub with great food, beverages and and awesome view

Needs a bit more thought re customer relations. (Can I help you with your luggage?) Kitchen staff need to attend catering college. Room clean spacious and well equipped, bed comfortable. Beer on pump good.

We stayed for three very pleasant nights and dined twice. An attentive manager supported by his young but professional resturant staff enhanced an excellent experience. Obviously with its good resturant grading we expected good food. We got it - A very good chef resides here. We tried fish & chips the first night - absolutely lovely. The second dinner we went for nibbles to start followed by Cod chowder dishes with new potatoes, amazing special fries & fresh peas with asparo. Very good portions were served and all were perfectly cooked. The french wine we chose was equally good. Next time we visit the area we will stay & dine here.

This place is a true gem!! Friendly staff and the food in the restaurant is simply devine.. The Hake dish is highly recommended. We stayed for 2 nights to visit Avebury and the room was nice with a little outdoor seat as well. Needless to say that I recommend it!

Really tasty Sunday roast, good sized portions. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Enjoyed the pudding. Came with our 3 year old and she ate well also 😊
