A small but a fabulous restaurant. A menu with so many choices and at very acceptable prices. Service is excellent and food is a real pleasure. Good atmosphere with good background music. A really good find in Salisbury.

Great fish snd chips. Helen always has a smile and a warm welcome for everyone. Best fish and chips in Wiltshire. Thoroughly recommend China Chef, AKA Smilies!

A friend recommended this pub and we were very impressed. A good, honest, old fashioned pub with huge menu, excellent food and lovely staff. Great value and portion sizes were extremely generous. Good selection of real ale too. Such a refreshing change to find this little gem!

They opened especially for us to do our photo shoot for Beauty and the Beast today. A wonderful welcome in a quirky tea room; even Rufus the dog was allowed in.. Delicious hot chocolate and scrummy cakes galore. They even found a Mrs Potts teapot for us to use! Thank you Tea Inc.

We have visited this pub many times now as they offer camping to the rear of the pub. The caravan site is good with great views across fields and is very well located for access to the beautiful village and the surrounding countryside for walks etc. This weekend we made the most of a meal offer on the Friday night. As always the food was to a particularly high standard, I am really fussy about steaks and the Ribeye was excellent, both in its taste, sourced from a good butcher, and the Chef knows how to cook a steak. The pub is a particularly friendly one, we have visited many times over the years but we are always impressed with the friendly nature of the place. Paul and Lorraine, the landlords always make you feel welcome in the relaxed atmosphere. We finished the weekend visit with a roast on the Sunday and again, this was excellent, we both had roast Lamb and it was very tasty and well cooked. Its only a matter of time before we return.

What a find this is for any one travelling along the A303 and want a coffee and a bite to eat. Only problem we spent a fortune at the deli counter. God those pasties and scotch eggs were amazing.

We found this lovely little pub on Booking.com as we were after a last minute getaway. Stayed 4 nights in one of the chalet style rooms next to the garden. Lovely, cosy and clean with everything we needed. Steve the owner was very friendly on arrival and gave us all the info we needed. Only 10 minutes into Salisbury from here and just 3 minutes to beautiful town of Wilton with some nice little walks nearby. Slept very well whilst here as lovely and quiet at night. Had a few meals in the pub itself which were absolutely delicious (you need to promote your food more)! Will definitely be back! Many thanks.

A beautiful little cafe hidden in the Chalke Valley. Tucked away behind the shop they serve a great choice of local cakes and coffee. The Dorset Apple Cake is a firm favourite. The service is amazing, always friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxed and warm. I would return anytime.

Four of us took Sunday lunch together yesterday, 27th April 2025. Three of us had been before and very much enjoyed the meal etc. however, yesterday surpassed that first visit, lovely though it was. Yesterday was superb in all aspects, the food - main course served on a hot plate, oh, what joy - then a delightful pudding with very yummy custard. Service was just about right, attentive but not over the top. We hugely enjoyed ourselves and for £136 - four people, two courses each, soft drinks - very good value for money. Greyhound highly recommended, we will return in the future.
