Stopped here for a mid-week evening meal. It was not busy. We were greeted on arrival by the friendly owner(?) and ordered a couple of drinks while we checked the menu. Prices were pretty high, most dishes being well over £20pp and there wasn't anything we really fancied. We decided not to order and just paid for our drinks. The owner suddenly became less than friendly (not rude but 'cold'). We probably won't return

We saw the ratings on Google and decided we would pop in for lunch on a Thursday following our return from holiday. I'm happy to say that all the good comments were right. This is a lovely village pub, with friendly staff and really great food. I had the steak and ale pie and it was one of the nicest versions I've had in a pub restaurant. My wife had the Haddock and chips, which was served with mushy peas, tartare sauce and to her delight curry sauce. It was equally well cooked and delicious. We finished off by sharing the apple crumble pie topped with salted caramel ice cream and toffee sauce. Gorgeous. Drinks selection is good and not overpriced. The seating areas are very pleasant and the interior design is appealing. There is also a nice seating area outside for when the weather is warm enough. Basically this is a lovely pub restaurant in a pretty little village that is very well worth visiting. Parking is on the road, but that's not an issue as it's a pretty quiet road.

Sunday Lunch- albeit at 4pm as our friends were unable to meet prior to that. Some of the roast offerings were sold out at that time but it made no difference to us. Whilst we had booked they had several walk ins- a sign of how popular it is given their excellent reputation . The meats- Beef and Lamb- plus very nice array of vegetables and brilliant roast potatoes were excellent. Good selection of drinks. Outside tables as well. Two parking spaces for disabled- all other parking on the road.

I've been a chef for most of my years owning two successful restaurants, I was once Paul Getty's personal chef and have lectured City and Guilds. I don't normally write reviews, but I am writing this one because a lady who I think was the owner was extremely rude to me. On the menu it read Sea bream with crab bisque, prawns, brandy served with new potatoes and samphire. I'm not keen on samphire so I asked if I could have the purred root vegetables instead, the lady said of course. When the meal arrived instead of the vegetables there was a small bowl of sautéed leek and undercooked savoy cabbage which I didn't complain about. On paying the bill she charged me £5 extra for the side dish of cabbage and leek, I said the cabbage was instead of the samphire only to be told that the samphire was only one piece for the garnish, but on the menu it read SERVED WITH not GARNISED WITH. When I tried to explain the misunderstanding She said, Quote " I don't want to talk about it, just go outside and enjoy your beer" If any of my staff had talked to a customer like that I would have shown them the back door. Now for the meal. I was a bit confused, I didn't know if I was being served a fish soup or a piece of fish on top of a few potatoes swimming in a watery sauce. The fish was small tiny and overcooked, by the time I took the skin of there must have been about 3oz (75g) of fish, it was severed on a uncooked outer whole leave of a savoy cabbage, next to it where three roasted new potatoes which I am sure were left over from Sunday lunch, I was expecting some nice boiled new potatoes in a separate dish served with my fish as on the menu. There where 3 medium king prawns next to the potatoes all where swimming in the so called watery tasteless crab bisque that I am sure came out of a tin. Crab bisque should taste of crab to get this the shell should be crushed and cooked in the sauce then strained which give the bisque an intense crab flavour. After the meal I was still starving and after talking to a couple next to me they gave me some of their chips. My child's or even a babies portion came to £29.50

This was our first visit, after being recommended to us by a friend. It’s actually owned by the village of Somerford and managed by an independent couple. It’s the sort of country pub I wish I could own- friendly staff, great choice and food at reasonable prices. They serve small or normal sized portions of most of the meals and with 3 days notice will order anything special you want cooked. What a delightful Saturday lunch at this charming countryside gem! The ambience was made perfect by a lovely log burner, creating a snug atmosphere that made me feel like I'd stepped into a storybook. The quintessential country pub charm oozed from the flagstone floors, and the impressive range of beers only added to the experience. The staff were the epitome of friendly and attentive without being in your face - a balance that's not easy to strike, but they nailed it. Now, let's talk about the food. Oh my, I couldn't find a single fault! The menu offers elevated British classics, and the portion sizes left me both satisfied and impressed. And then there was the sticky toffee pudding – brace yourself for a life-changing dessert experience. It's officially the best I've ever had! I'd go back just for that sweet delight. As we had someone with mobility issues, the pub's no-fuss attitude towards accessibility was greatly appreciated. The easy, one-level floor and accessible toilet made the experience hassle-free. In essence, this pub is a delightful escape to the heart of the countryside, blending warmth, excellent food, and accessibility seamlessly. Can't wait to return for more cosy vibes and that sticky toffee perfection! 🍻✨

This was our second visit to Somerford Arms. It has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere – a joy to be here again. The menu is broad and creative. Even better for us (both my wife and I are vegetarian) the menu not only includes several veggie options, but they are seriously interesting. Some pubs treat veggie options as a reluctant afterthought. Absolutely not the case at Somerford Arms. My first course choice was halloumi fries, pomegranate molasses, honey, sriracha, black sesame – an interesting and exceptionally tasty starter. For our main course, both of us opted for the roasted aubergine, cumin, chilli, fermented vegetables, fruity couscous, tenderstem, tomato sauce, greek salad. Wonderful ingredients. This is exceptional cooking – and beautifully presented. We savoured every mouthful... absolutely loved it! When it came time to pay at the end of our visit, the staff had technical difficulties with the new card payment devices. But they worked through the challenges with patience and courtesy. We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. Above all the service was outstanding – as it had been last time. On this occasion we were looked after by two young professionals… Could not of been more attentive, caring and courteous. Hats, off to Somerford Arms!

Magnificent mansion, magnificent estate and superb room. In terms of quality, cleanliness of the infrastructure, nothing to complain about, everything is perfect, even more than perfect. A very nice touch in the room for my birthday with a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates. The breakfast is excellent, high quality and gargantuan. The bartender is also very professional, helpful and pleasant. On the other hand, the quality of reception and check-out could be improved. The welcome is not the warmest although professional. The staff at breakfast are very professional. However, one person was really very cold, bordering on unpleasant. For the quality and price of the hotel's services, it's a shame. The biggest disappointment was not being able to purchase the large Lionel the lion soft toy, which is in all the rooms and, which is in all the photos of the hotel. There's even a message attached to his neck, stating that he's for sale at the front desk. However, at reception, we are told that this is not possible, that only the intermediate format remains. When you advertise everywhere, when you promise your child to "adopt" him, and in the end, there are none left or none, I find it borderline unprofessional. Especially when you pay £600 for a night, the least you can do is make sure you find a solution for the customer

Lovely spacious restaurant within the Greyhound Inn. Had dinner there with friends and all were impressed with the food quality - lovely selection of food catering for all types of pallet. All washed down with some nice local ales. Service friendly and non obtrusive. One of the best dining experiences I have had this year. Would certainly go there again if in the area and can thoroughly recommend.

Stunning place. The food was of such high standards, yet very affordable. It’s one of our favourite places in Wiltshire. Second time here, and definitely not the last.

Lovely location for a special meal, we booked the private dining area for a 70th. Plenty of very interesting food choices, and a great selection of drinks. Not to mention the very relaxed atmosphere.
