I would hardly describe this as a pub - it's a coffee shop that happens to serve alcohol. We chose this as a stop off for lunch on our way home from holiday as the brunch menu looked very appealing as it was served until 2pm according to the website. It's actually only served until 12 apparently, so we were left with a very limited, over priced menu, with the only option for children being a plate of chips.

By shear luck I found out about this absolute gem of a pub. Today was my first ever visit, and I assure you it will not be my last. Great atmosphere; fabulous staff; tremendous food, and the background music is the best I’ve EVER heard in any eatery anywhere in the world. Today I fell so lucky to have discovered The Woolpack. Thanks folks, you are brilliant.

May 28th 2021. Such a shame Abi and Tim have stopped offering their renowned Sunday Lunches. 2018 Been going since Tim & Ali bought The Woolpack. Tim is great chef, Ali & Kelly run a 'wicked' front of house. Food always excellent - booking is essential for Sunday Lunch - and where do they get that great beef!!!

The food? Superb. The chef (and owner, I believe) really knows his stuff. The food is clean, no fussy sauces, and wonderful fresh ingredients. The welcome is friendly and I would give this place a '5' rating , no problem, but sadly the decor is poor and there is some silly partition seperating the main dining area for the bar. Get the decor right, get rid of the horrible seating, and horrible colours, and this would be the most popular place for miles.

Everyone in the area raves about this restaurant. So we went. The beef carpaccio was not sliced thinly enough and the dressing was too sweet. The guinea fowl was ok but nothing special. My wife was happy with her goats cheese starter and her cauliflower cheese. Good service. All in all doesn't live up to its reputation

Met up with friends here today - really good experience. The welcome was warm, the food excellent & the service good. We were not hassled at all which was good as we hadn't met up for a few months so had plenty to talk about!Between us we had 2 cauliflower cheese with pancetta and French bread, 1 cheesey pudding & 1 Woolpack burger. All these were well presented, hot & freshly cooked. Our friends shared a dessert of crumble & ice cream which they thought was good. For us this was a good pub experience with an interesting choice of well prepared food but none of the usual pub stooge.

Came in here after a nice dog walk hoping for a typical country pub experience. It looks lovely from the outside (aside from a resident having a go at us for parking in front of his house) but inside it’s just a bit bland - certainly doesn’t feel like a traditional county pub in comparison to its beautiful surroundings. Lack of atmosphere, tacky decor and really geared up for diners, as such there isn’t really an area to just sit and grab a cosy drink. We only stayed for 1 and left so I can’t comment on the food.

We only had a couple of baguettes but they were delicious. Rare roast beef, and sausage with onions, at £7.50 each. Both came with a small but impressive salad, dressed with the chef's own dressing (which they sell). A couple of glasses of excellent pinot grigio and it all added up to a perfect lunch. The wider menu looks very impressive and we hope to return very soon.

We have been to this pub quite a few times now and are never disappointed. The Sunday roast is perfection!!!! The beef is pink, the roasts are crisp , the veg cooked just as I like them and the cauliflower cheese could be served as a dish on its own... delicious!! Visited here tonight (20.02.2019) was totally unplanned as only stayed in this area for a single night to break up a trip. We had to write this review to compliment their work. Food was delightful, it is a proper family run business so if you’re looking for somewhere to eat which isn’t generic and commercialised then I sincerely recommend visiting. 10 out of 10 and if on the off chance we happen to stay in this area again then we will definitely make a point of returning. We were in Wilton for two nights for a funeral, and both stayed, and ate, at the Greyhound Inn. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It is brilliantly run by a charming husband and wife team, whose constant good spirits and desire to help, is second to none. Their professionalism lies in their ability to make every customer feel special, welcome, and that no request is too much for them. The restaurant food was delicious, and the staff who work there are all friendly, cheerful, and very efficient. The Inn has several rooms which we found to be beautiful, very reasonably priced and immaculate. It was a truly comfortable stay. Breakfast in the morning, was a real treat! This is now going to be our go-to place whenever we return to Wiltshire!

Can’t wait to come back. Loved every minute. Yes it is pricey and you could probably find somewhere cheaper nearby but you can see where your money goes. From the moment you turn into the property and see the house - WOW. The pictures do not do it justice. The grounds with the river running through are beautiful. The main house is stunning with real log fire in the entrance with comfy sofas to relax. We stayed in one of the Mews cottages with our cat Pisco. He loved it. Running from the massive bathroom to the bedroom and back. He especially loved the bay window where he could watch the world and pose for pictures. Breakfast was great with some great al a carte options the eggs Royale was our favourite - add some black pudding you will not be disappointed. Unfortunately we stayed when the weather had been wet so couldn’t do any of the long walks due to the mud. Definitely will be back in the summer. For food the Castle Inn which they also own was unbelievable. We also ate at the Bybrook but I personally felt the Castle Inn was a better cost to quality option.
