Probably the best pub I’ve ever been too they have the kindest staff and quickest service highly recommend

Greetings, we had lunch here recently, the interior is fabulous ,beautifully decorated and inviting..service was amazing,.lovely food .well priced served hot and delicious..we were v pleased to have found this welcoming pub.

A lovely pub to come for a meal, the steak frites was delicious and tender and the brownie was very chocolatey. Would highly recommend for a lunch time, staff were very friendly too.

Three of us had a wonderful lunch at the Woolpack yesterday, a beautiful and atmospheric pub with wonderful food all cooked fresh and to a very high standard, I highly recommend trying out this lovely well run pub😀👍

What a gem! Random "Google Maps" find looking for somewhere to stop for a bite. Food was fantastic, staff friendly & decor quirky and fun. If it was local to me, I'd be a regular, well worth a mile or two detour.

My first visit after 35 plus year. A very friendly welcome. A lovely place to relax chat and socialise in. We will be definitely be visiting a lot more.

Friday evening brings a Spanish flavour offering a great selection of tapas and continental dishes with traditional Spanish background music. Friendly staff and atmosphere, all together a very comfortable evening.

Had lunch here on Saturday and all four meals were really lovely......but what made it, were the friendly and welcoming staff. The decor is great and the whole pub spotless. We sat outside on the small patio which was a nice option. Would definitely return!

Excellent food and great atmosphere

May 28th 2021. Such a shame Abi and Tim have stopped offering their renowned Sunday Lunches. 2018 Been going since Tim & Ali bought The Woolpack. Tim is great chef, Ali & Kelly run a 'wicked' front of house. Food always excellent - booking is essential for Sunday Lunch - and where do they get that great beef!!!

Went here months ago. I only lived up the road but was made to feel an outsider. Definitely a clicky pub but I guess it's so local that it takes time to understand. I'd go to Heytesbury However... The food here is amazing though. One of my top 3 in warminster area. Beautifully home cooked meals and quick service. Summary... Pints, no. Food and drinks, yes

One of my favourite local venues with a cozy atmosphere, the Woolpack provides high quality and well-presented food. I have visited a couple of times and in both occasions I found the service to be attentive, personal and professional. Highly recommended

Crisps roast potatoes, tender rare (not raw) roast beef, plenty of perfectly cooked vegetables, AMAZING cauliflower cheese. Welcomed cheerfully by Amelia, fabulous service from both her and Kat.

Whether it be lunch or a cosy evening meal for us, the service, atmosphere and food is amazing. We have celebrated many a meal or summer after drink at Tim & Abbey’s and we have never been disappointed! Lamb rump in particular blew my socks off..

First classod pint & excellent bar food & Staff.

The food? Superb. The chef (and owner, I believe) really knows his stuff. The food is clean, no fussy sauces, and wonderful fresh ingredients. The welcome is friendly and I would give this place a '5' rating , no problem, but sadly the decor is poor and there is some silly partition seperating the main dining area for the bar. Get the decor right, get rid of the horrible seating, and horrible colours, and this would be the most popular place for miles.

Staying with friends who are locals to the area we decided to eat in The Woolpack after a visit to Xmas lights at Stourhead: beautiful food nicely cooked & presented: the cheesy pud was delicious & very filling:)

Wonderful village pub with excellent restaurant

Everyone in the area raves about this restaurant. So we went. The beef carpaccio was not sliced thinly enough and the dressing was too sweet. The guinea fowl was ok but nothing special. My wife was happy with her goats cheese starter and her cauliflower cheese. Good service. All in all doesn't live up to its reputation

Met up with friends here today - really good experience. The welcome was warm, the food excellent & the service good. We were not hassled at all which was good as we hadn't met up for a few months so had plenty to talk about!Between us we had 2 cauliflower cheese with pancetta and French bread, 1 cheesey pudding & 1 Woolpack burger. All these were well presented, hot & freshly cooked. Our friends shared a dessert of crumble & ice cream which they thought was good.For us this was a good pub experience with an interesting choice of well prepared food but none of the usual pub stooge.

I have reviewed this lovely pub before.....but I just had to go again!! The ladies are so pleasant . The food so good. The prices so reasonable. The ambiance undefinably relaxing!My friend’s burger looked super so I’ll try that next time. I enjoyed the cheese pud but once was enough.....And we almost outstayed our welcome by chattering on....but no heavy hints were given that our time was up. Sorry ladies! We will arrive earlier next time ....

I travel solo to warminster multiple times per year. I now make a point of visiting the Woolpack as the food, and in particular the fish is always excellent. I've been three times, and finally this place wipes the floor with the pubs near by for food and company. Go here. 5*

Stopped here as we were staying in a nearby B&B. We found the staff welcoming and attentive. Food was well-presented and delicious. It is better to book if you plan to eat during peak times.

Beautiful small pub with absolutely great atmosphere. Great food too. I had salmon fish cakes with a beautiful salad and fried potatoes. Also nice vegetarian options. Great pint too. Friendly staff. Well worth a visit.

You get lots of suggestions from people about the perfect pub Sunday lunch and usually end up disappointed. Not so at The Woolpack. All I can say is forget a review and visit this restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxed and super friendly and the food is nothing short of excellent

Superb Sunday lunch today. “Award winning” to quote my wife. Perfect beef, perfect Yorkshires, perfect roast potatoes, perfect cauliflower cheese. Delightful service. Very depressed that its 7 days until the next Sunday.

Come in regularly..but especially for Sunday roast. The best rare beef, giant Yorkshire’s, crispy potatoes, fresh veg and the tastiest cauliflower cheese. You can always rely on getting quality delicious food when visiting, would recommend to anyone, by far the best roast around for miles!

Had lunch here with a total of five of us. We all chose the baguettes though there were many other choices on the menu. The baguettes were absolutely delicious and enormous by the way!! Two of us had sausages and onions and other three rare beef which they said was fabulous. Cups of delicious coffee all round afterwards...a delicious lunch and well recommended. Super friendly and efficient staff too.

Clear clean pricing which allows you not to worry about change. If you want more tea though, just ask the vicar

Came in here after a nice dog walk hoping for a typical country pub experience. It looks lovely from the outside (aside from a resident having a go at us for parking in front of his house) but inside it’s just a bit bland - certainly doesn’t feel like a traditional county pub in comparison to its beautiful surroundings. Lack of atmosphere, tacky decor and really geared up for diners, as such there isn’t really an area to just sit and grab a cosy drink. We only stayed for 1 and left so I can’t comment on the food.

I just popped in here for a coffee so can't review the food on offer. Friendly service from long-established owners. Small garden area at rear of up seven steps. Very little parking on site, would probably have to park on the street.

We only had a couple of baguettes but they were delicious. Rare roast beef, and sausage with onions, at £7.50 each. Both came with a small but impressive salad,dressed with the chef's own dressing (which they sell). A couple of glasses of excellent pinot grigio and it all added up to a perfect lunch. The wider menu looks very impressive and we hope to return very soon.

We have been to this pub quite a few times now and are never disappointed. The Sunday roast is perfection!!!! The beef is pink, the roasts are crisp , the veg cooked just as I like them and the cauliflower cheese could be served as a dish on its own... delicious!! There is a goon variety for dessert ,but the sticky toffee pudding can’t be missed. The staff are always very efficient and friendly. Will be returning when we want a trip out of Bristol!!

Visited here tonight (20.02.2019) was totally unplanned as only stayed in this area for a single night to break up a trip. We had to write this review to compliment their work. Food was delightful, it is a proper family run business so if you’re looking for somewhere to eat which isn’t generic and commercialised then I sincerely recommend visiting. 10 out of 10 and if on the off chance we happen to stay in this area again then we will definitely make a point of returning. Thanks Woolpack. Keep up the good work.

This is a traditional local pub with an excellent chef. There is limited parking but the food and ambiance make up for this. Friendly staff and a roaring fire is just what one needs on a cold winters day. The food is well cooked and traditional with very good specials. The beer is well kept and bar area full of locals with good cheer and a story to tell. We had a superb meal at a reasonable price. Will recommend to all our friends and family.

Lovely little Pub in Sutton Veny. Absolutely fantastic food, great portions, staff and owner extremely welcoming and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Great selection of wines and beers. Well worth stopping by and I recommend booking a table up front.

Great spot for lunch on an autumn weekday, except that the (small) bar area was full and we couldn't take a dog into the restaurant area... but no matter - the lunch was delicious. Other commentators have mentioned the sauté potatoes and they are FAB, as was the rare roast beef. Good coffee too; we just resisted the tempting pudding menu.

Excellent Sunday roast- could not fault it, beef delicious, good roasties, vegetables cooked perfectly and the cauliflower cheese was excellent. On the pricey side at ~£15 but worth it. Pudding were good too

We were recommended the Woolpack for dinner and were not disappointed. Food was excellent and service very friendly - prices were what you would expect for pub grub.

The welcome and the food is first class every dish or plate is lovingly prepared and never disappoints. Tim and Abe do the simple things well lovely food, well presented in a great atmosphere. Try it is first class.

It’s sad but true .....but the first impression is always so very important! Here both ladies were lovely being efficient,funny and genuinely pleased to see us ( or they are great actresses!). But I thought they were genuine.

Book as seating in din8ng area limited. Really loved everything about this. Do wish we lived locally!

Another of my local favourites - it manages the often uncomfortable divide between being a gastro-pub and being a local extremely well and I am happy to go there for a drink or for atop class meal.

Friendly service, and the meal was great! Would definitely come again. Our party had the woolpecker burger, the samon fishcakes and the sausage & mash.

Book ahead for Sunday Roasts, they're popular for a reason - always consistently excellent. Delightful decor, great ales and a nice range of wines.

On a very dreary April day, yes it was raining again, it was a pleasure to settle down in this little gem of a pub/restaurant. It was busy, so it is important you book, a party of four were turned away, very politely, as they were simply too busy.

Really friendly owners and bar staff. Great food, well priced and tasty, great ambience. Highly recommend having a meal there, I've been a few times, never disappointed

What a good village pub this is.

Treated my mother to lunch and we both had the most delicious duck with excellent freshly cooked vegetables. Very cosy and the staff are lovely.

Tock the family there yesterday first time and it was lovely the one downside is there isn't any parking but the food makes up for it.

We stopped here to end our 8mile walk with fellow dog lovers. Cute beer garden at rear and dogs welcome. We drank delicious rose while chilling and resting our aching legs. Lovely cosy country pub.

Visité aquí recientemente y era muy tranquila. No mucha gente viene a cenar. Aunque se sentía muy cálido y acogedor, dentro de la atmósfera no era estupenda. La comida era normal, y el servicio era amable. En general, una experiencia muy buena.

Hemos disfrutado de unas cuantas comidas domingo aquí y son consistentemente deliciosa, así que encantado con los huéspedes. Uno de nuestro grupo recientemente declaró que uno de los mejores asados del domingo que ella había comido en un pub - alabanza! Amable y atento servicio. Adecuado para familias. Tener un salto en un día durante un paseo en bicicleta que me he convertido en un poco de regularidad. Todo el personal es extremadamente amable y acogedor, y la gente no dudaba en incluirme como si hubiera estado yendo allí durante años.

Nos estábamos tomando nuestro "atrás" para evitar la ruta de un 303 en el camino a Devon un viernes y estamos buscando un pub para almorzar, por desgracia los que vimos en el camino estaban cerradas o cerrando. Sin embargo, el espied Woolpack Inn que nunca tuvimos realmente guiaría de antes, pero pensé que veamos pruébalo! El aparcamiento es un poco complicado, nos dieron una cordial bienvenida y dijeron que tendríamos que esperar un poco, no hay problema nos ninguna prisa. Tomamos una copa de vino mientras esperamos seguido por un delicioso almuerzo ligero. Sin duda hacer de esta nuestra parada para el almuerzo en el camino a Devon de nuevo!

Esta fue nuestra segunda visita a este país pub amable y nos decidimos ir a por todas y probar su langosta fresca vestido (infame pedimos al hacer nuestra reserva). Dos amantes de mariscos muy exigente, honestamente puedo decir que fue una de las mejores comidas de langosta que he tenido. Las langostas llegaron con un enorme bowl de ensalada de patatas y, haciendo una buena tamaño plato principal. Uno era un poco más pequeña que las otras, así que el chef nos dio algo más de langostinos frescos en salsa rosa Marie.

Called in one Tuesday evening. Two or three locals at the bar chatting to two barmaids. They all fell silent and stared at us as we approached the bar. I got the feeling they resented us interrupting their conversation. Woman who served me was not welcoming or friendly at all. I could feel her hard stare as I leaned across to see what soft drinks they had in the fridge. We had hoped to eat here but I felt so uncomfortable that I just wanted to leave. I left half my drink in order to get out of there. My partner shouted "cheers" "thanks very much", there was the same awkward silence before someone managed a half hearted reply as we were just about out the door. These little village pubs can be so cliquey. This pub obviously doesn't need nor want passing trade. I've truely never been so relieved to get out of a pub like this before.
