I popped in here, as my car had broken down just opposite, for a drink and Dave was really welcoming and friendly. As my car wasn’t fixable I went back later for dinner due to the warm and welcoming atmosphere I had received earlier that day. Again, I was welcomed back by both and well looked after. The Steak Burger was delicious and the fries were amazing. Will definitely be popping in again if I am ever driving past. Thank you for a lovely experience.

Stayed overnight, everything was excellent. Clean comfortable room with extra touches, a full bottle of fresh milk, no inadequate little pots of sterilised gunk, Tassimo machine and plenty of pods for it. I stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer! Set near Stone Henge in a stunning countryside village, 15 mins from centre of Salisbury, this exquisite pub offers excellent customer service, great food, super comfortable beds and great attention to detail. I asked for a ground floor room and was delighted with the furnishings, fantastic wet room shower, loved the coffee machine and the hand alarm clock which doubles as a phone charger. Food is really reasonably priced and I loved the fresh milk in the fridge too. I will definitely stay again if I’m in the area.

Very comfortable stay for a couple of nights while we waiting to move in to our new house. The rooms were clean and the pub was cosy and inviting. Shame that more people don't take the trouble to drop in. The food cooked fresh by the talented owner, was fantastic and good value too. Drinks were reasonable and the beer well kept. 100pct recommend!

Just comes back from a 2 night stay at the Bell Inn. We stayed in Room 4 which was just outside. Beautiful room, very well decorated and clean and tidy. Only moan i had was that the lead for the kettle was not long enough and had to bring the base out and put on the floor. Alarm clock with the charger was fantastic. As we were visiting family unfortunately we did not eat here but the food did look appetising. Outside was a little garden area with heat. Recommend the Bell Inn.

My wife and I booked a table at very short notice at this historic Inn and were given a very pleasant welcome reception by Nicky who immediately offered us a well-situated reserved table and even a tasty treat for our dog Millie. We remembered our previous Sunday lunch and were equally delighted at the generous portions, including an amazing variety of freshly cooked vegetables. For pudding, we enjoyed David's homemade rhubarb and strawberry crumble with custard and left feeling fully satisfied. Will we be back? We certainly hope so in the very near future!

We’ve been going to the Bell for Sunday lunch on and off for while, and our relatives have been going for ages and invariably we have a good experience (sometimes the meat is not as good as others, but generally speaking, the food is great - especially the veg, and the vegetarian options)But just recently, despite being dog lovers, we’ve been put off visiting in the future due to the arrival of a pub dog.She is a delightful creature, but to be allowed to roam around the bar, putting her nose on tables where people are eating is just not on.For those who do not like or are afraid of dogs this makes a visit to the Bell impossible.Such a shame

We chose the Bell Inn for a family rendezvous, with five of us coming from different directions to eat and to stay the night. The warm welcome was exactly what we needed after our long drives on a hot day. The food and the wine were very good, with the gluten- and lactose-intolerant members of the party delighted with the range of menu options open to them. Our rooms were comfortable, clean and tidy, with very good showers. A splendid breakfast the following morning set us up well for the day. The Bell Inn was a great choice and we would go back.

Booked a table for Sunday Lunch at 1:30Arrived on time and ordered from the bar a drink and from the menu displayed on a blackboard. Sunday lunch was a main course choice of Roast beef or Roast Pork and crackling for £11. The presentation was good with a large potion of meat Yorkshire puddings a gravy boat and Crisp Roast potatoes, the vegetables were served in a separate dish, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli and cabbage. All were cooked very well and tasty. We had a dessert, l had a ice cream fruit sundae which had strawberries raspberries three good scoops of ice cream and a squirty cream with chocolate sauce. My friend had a chocolate cake with ice cream and cream. Both desserts were presented well, we thoughly enjoyed our meal. There appeared to be only one waitress covering the bar and restaurant but she had all areas covered and we felt unrushed and relaxed throughout. I will definitely go again if in that area.

. . . ¡esta aquí! ! ahora se lo que he estado buscando! ! ! ! ! gracias david ????

Overall good value for money. Very quiet early in the evening, so I can't compare with the situation when busy, but certainly well worth a visit. It is now on my list of 'recommended stops'.A word of caution though - you take your life in your hands trying to get back across the main road to the car-park! We took a near last minute decision to go out for lunch and decided to try the Bell. We have passed it literally hundreds of times but never stopped as we are always a little wary of pubs on main roads. Our worries were unfounded, the pub itself is very clean, very well presented and has a welcoming feel that is enhanced by the staff who are really friendly and provide a great service. An added plus is the loos, they must rank as some of the most spotless pub loos in the country. Sunday lunch was excellent and great value for money and based on the lunch experience we will go back again and try something from the main menu one evening soon. If you want to experience a great pub, with good food that has friendly and efficient then the Bell has to be high on the list if you are in the area of Wilton/South Newton.

We are frequent travellers on the A30/A36 and were so disappointed to find our regular pub en route was closed for refurbishment and the next we tried had the kitchen closed. However both incidents turned out to be a stroke of luck as we discovered the Bell Inn displaying it's very welcoming Dog Friendly sign. We had a delicious freshly cooked lunch at an extremely good price served by a most friendly lady innkeeper which was cooked by her partner, This genuine coaching inn has been beautifully done up (My wife gave the toilets 10 stars out of five!) and our two dogs loved the place as well. So our regular stopover has lost out which may seem a bit harsh but the last time we went there we arrived at 3.05pm and were (albeit politely) told the kitchen closed at 3.00pm -- and not even a sandwich could be provided. So we'll be going back to the Bell Inn from now on -- which serves food from 12 - 9pm!

Dropped in on a Saturday evening as we were staying up the road. My wife was very pleased to discover there were 4 or 5 vegetarian options. The main courses were really big and tasty, I had the fish and chips which was great, then greedily tried a bite of my wife's veg en croute as it was too much for her and it was so good I ended up eating it all. I was then too full to have a dessert, unfortunately my wife wasn't and had the Champagne sorbet which she really didn't like. We don't think there was anything wrong with it, she just didn't like it, but the landlady still generously offered us a refund.I had a couple of pints of Exmoor Gold which was very drinkable, my wife had a wine spritzer with the house white and was perfectly happy with it.

Found The Bell by chance on a Sunday road trip from the New Forest to Bristol. It was ten to three the kitchen closed at three but with absolutely no hesitation we were offered the full menu. The rack of lamb was succulent, hot and came with perfectly cooked veg and Yorkshire pud. We were even offered more gravy. I can't remember enjoying a roast dinner more. We asked for ice cream sundae and two spoons and the chef actually divvied up the desert into two very generous dish-fulls so there would be no squabbling. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming - dog friendly too. The décor a little old fashioned and tired but the new owners are planning a refurb soon. I wish them all success.

Through the door and a warm welcome from the landlord, yup, a,' hello, are you ready for lunch ?' welcome. Yes,a chap who was genuinely pleased to see customers ! Drinks were quickly served and the menu explained.I chose from a selection of fresh sandwiches and had probably the best hot roast beef and horseradish sandwich' in the Universe, accompanied by a pot of fresh roast potatoes and a little jug of gravy. Service was swift and charming the bill very reasonable...oh how I wish this place was on our doorstep. Superb..

Called in for a few pints on Sunday with a few friends, we were four adults and six kids, had a great welcome, and fantastic service, the young guy behind rhe bar couldn't have been more helpful. Didn't try the local ales, weather was too warm, but the usual lagers and bees in our round all tasted good. Called back there on the bank holiday Monday for lunch, and, what can I say, I had the ham egg and chips, service and food was fantastic, and same helpful guy behind the bar. Can't recommend the place enough

Stopped off on our way home from Cornwall to Kent. Easy access car park. Warm welcome upon entering the establishment, very clean spacious area. Menu was so good I couldn't decide. Not your average pub grub, so much more and was absolutely delicious and fresh. If ever passing that way again we would definitely stop off for a meal again.

Brit stops 078. A good level car park with easy access and my motorhome is just under 30 foot towing a car, no problem. The food was superb at good prices. The landlord / staff you could not wish for nicer people. Dog friendly even to the point of bringing him some water even without asking.A big thank you to the landlord.Mine was the steak and this was great

My partner and I while staying at the Stonehenge campsite went for a really long 10mile walk to the Henge then onto the Bell Inn.We were greeted by a really friendly bar tender and both ordered some drinks and food. This came in good time and was very reasonable price-wise.We had panini with chicken an avocado which came with skinny fries. It was very tasty. The panini could use a little more salad of some sort for me and I found the chicken was a little dry, being large bits of breast, but I think if the chicken wasn't cut so large it wouldn't have seemed dry. So it's only a foodie niggle. The skinny fries were the best chips I have ever eaten in any pub or restaurant! We even got given a free bowl of chips left over from the lovely bar tender. If you're passing by Definitely pop in for a drink and a snack. I would have loved to have gone back to try more of their menu.

Good food and service... was ideal for us as just down the road from where we were staying. Have a good range on the menu and the prices are fair.

Varied menu and didn't have to wait too long for our food. Enjoyable meals - although the children's menu could be more healthy, perhaps smaller portions of the main menu would be more welcome.

Won’t be back - coffee ok but woeful miserable staff. A smile, a bit of engagement, even eye contact makes a difference - you want to feel welcome rather than an intruder. Surely when money is tight places realise they might have to go that bit extra to encourage people to go back.

Website showed great promise. Kerbside appeal good, car parking good, service very good ( very helpful and friendly). Strange layout inside as its old building, dining room has no bar. Garden not used to its full potential, only very old tired play equipment for children. Food reasonable, 2 out of 3 meals okay. Third meal of chicken disappointing, either poor quality meat or overcooked or possibly both !!!!! Empty on a nice sunny lunchtime !!! Sorry but would not rush back.
