The best restaurants serving British food in Devizes North Wiltshire South West

This is my favourite place I’ve visited on this mini holiday. Beautiful, calming ambience, interesting, kind staff, the most excellent sweet and savoury gluten free scones I’ve had, and I thoroughly enjoyed my delicate green tea. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Visited today for a festive lunch with three friends and I have to say it was most enjoyable. Food was served hot and plentiful and in fact was quite a large roast but we ate it all - well its nearly Christmas. The three mini puddings were also delightful and more than enough. Really good service as well. Would recommend this venue.

Me and my friend popped in while we were visiting Devizes, can't remember what for now, and I ended up buying some small stones for my mum (agate, tiger's eye, that sort of thing) and as I checked out they asked if I wanted a chocolate brownie for half price (£1) as it was late afternoon and they wanted to sell them. We said said yes and got one each which was a mistake as they were the size of my head and probably contained thousands of calories, Still ate them all. Very tasty. The shop - they sell wraps and sandwiches to take away, so not a restaurant - is full of really good eco friendly stuff - you can bring your own containers for herbs and grains, etc (And I think oils, vinegars?). They also sell organic tinned produce and chocolate and also have some craft eco soaps and things like that. I was visiting from Shropshire so wasn't looking to buy groceries, although if I lived locally I'm sure I'd be in weekly. The shop was fairly busy, which is always a good sign, although the shop is on the small side they have crammed a lot in. The owner was really friendly and chatty, always good when people take customer service seriously. This is mainly a shop, not a restaurant, but can't see a way to change that. Maybe the owners should claim this page and fix that? A probably add a more appropriate photo.

I Contacted new society to book a table at short notice , knowing they would be busy with Remembrance Day going on. Rebecca the manager was very helpful and cheery and managed to organise a table. My wife and I arrived and ordered with another happy smiley member of staff and went to our table . Our order arrived in a timely manor by another friendly staff member . Our coffees were hot as was breakfast which hit the spot and was delicious . There was a pleasant, chilled ambiance throughout our visit which was nice as a lot of places we have visited seem to want you in and out as soon as possible I can’t recommend them enough and will be back again

We had a fabulous meal here tonight. All 3 of us agreed it was the best we’d had in ages. We were sat near the open kitchen and could see the care and attention that went in to all food. Each course looked and tasted fantastic. The serving staff were friendly and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. Definitely recommend!

Had some good food in this authentic and cosy pub restaurant while visiting Devizes on a glorious autumn day. Lovely interior, classy but unpretentious, and pleasant, attentive service. Would certainly eat here again when we next visit this attractive and historic Wiltshire town.

We have stayed here before and we are always delighted with all aspects. And look forward to returning. The staff are cheerful and attentive and make you feel welcome and wanted.

Been here twice in the last 6 months (don’t live in Devizes ) and the chips are the best I’ve had. They really are proper chip shop chips, not too greasy and not dry either which seems to be the new trend !. Can’t wait to come back. !!!

Still dog friendly. Food is OK. Enjoying new slightly more adventurous menu. Totally love the Miami brunch.

A good JDW pub in the centre of Devices ... As always good food and drink, as you would expect !

Great fish and chips. Have not bought before but having tried it we will be making this our regular place. Very friendly staff and all cooked perfectly. Prices very competitive too. Many thanks

Walked from camping & caravan site along the canal , had a drink and the food looked lovely , hour later ordered the Sunday roast , lamb , sat outside next to the canal , roast was lovely all fresh veg , huge Yorkshire , lamb was lovely ! Well needed roast before! the walk home
