Came in this evening, had 1 pensioners fish and chips a large battered sausage and small chips and curry sauce. Its safe to say I won't be back. It was all dry and rock hard definitely reheated from lunchtime or the day before. Everything went in the bin waste of £20.

Perfect, wouldn't recommend anywhere different. Definitely not eastleigh fish bar anyway.

Online has a huge price mark-up! I just paid £15 for a £9.80 meal because they don't accept card! Get with the times... Card machines take a maximum of 2.5% nowadays! The chips look and taste old too... Not happy and won't be back.

The chippy offer is really good, best chippy in Devises, but seriously check out their chef recommendations. The dumplings are amazing!

I have to totally disagree with most of the negative reviews below. I have tried most of the F&C shops in Devizes and this one is the best. Chips stay crisp and are not yellow and floppy like the other chips in town. We have a large cod and share it, enough for 2 oldies. Staff are friendly and smiley. For just over a tenner a good lunch can be had and enough chips for another meal for us. They only take cash ! Try it for yourself !

£5.40 for large chips! got to be the most expensive chippy outside London. Hope they are good!

Chips over cooked seems to be reheated not nice at all , curry sauce was watery and very sweet most of it went in the bin .shame used to be really good.

Fish was OK, but dry and the skin was still on (yuk). Chips were well over cooked. Everything was very greasy.. Tub of mushy peas was tiny. Not a chip shop I’ll use again. Sorry.

Service friendly, reliable, and consistent . Food was excellent as always, portions good and price very good. Always prepared to travel to buy from Lee's as guaranteed good quality fish and chips at a decent price. Always a treat that is looked forward to and throughly enjoyed.

We have just moved to Devizes, and wanted a fish n chips. The chips tasted like gandhis flip flop. The batter on our fish and sausages was like saw dust. Would recommend to avoid at all costs.

I went into this takeaway for chips , just chips . The £3 portion of chips I received were really over cooked and had obviously been through the fryer serveral times, they were totally stewed . It seems this chip shop has a policy recooking chips if there not sold in quiet periods . I could clearly see the Chinese lady serving up the chips , she was picking out the really black chips from my portion and throwing them to the side . Her fingers running through my meal looking for black chips really put me off eating it ... Threw it straight in the bin. ... Never again waste of money..

I had a large fish and chips. The food was delicious, the portion was huge, no complaints there. At £10.40 for one I did find it very expensive though. Possibly just the cost of things these days but it did feel quite high.

Bought kids nuggets and chips on Monday evening from here. Absolutely awful and put in bin. Nuggets were soggy and tasted like fish. Chips were recooked, hard and tasteless. Definitely will not recommend or eat at Lee's fish and chips shop again. Waste of money and had to buy something else for my daughter's evening meal.

Chips are very greasy. Some looked like yesterday's chips re-cooked. Tasteless. Asked for salt and vinegar but they must have forgot. Would not recommend or go back to. Sorry Lee, just my honest opinion.

Very poor. Ordered online to collect. Walked in ready to collect, while I was waiting realised as well as paying a service charge for using the website I was also well over charged on each product. Opting to just leave it I returned home to eat my food. Fish had a funny smell to it so I only ate a bit. Put it down for the cats for them to turn their nose up at it and not eat it. Needless to say I was in the toilet for a while after that so will not be going back.

I came here not so long ago and the chips were awful and I even had a bone in my fish cake which just put me off. The staff are lovely in there, but the food unfortunately doesn't match the service you get. Very overpriced too

Chips were frozen not fresh and overcooked. Fish was cheap and very chewy. will not be going again. i recommend everyone else do the same and save their money!

We ordered last night, chips was grease and brown and had a bit sour aftertaste, we all ended up with headache and upset stomach, my daughter was sick all night. Won't be ordering again

To much batter on fish which makes it look bigger and spring rolls not Chinese style but service good.

Visited Lees as our usual choice closed early due to an unexpected incident. Worst choise we've ever made. Paid £37.00 for the most awful meal ever. Everything was well overcooked, tasted of a strange oil flavour. Chips were more like wedges again well overcooked and the fish was as bad. They used to do lovely meals five years ago things have certainly gone downhill

Phoned an order through and walked up to collect. Paid when I arrived. Cash in the shop but if you order online you can use a card. Food is always good. There is also a delivery service.

My wife and I both agree this was the worst takeaway ever. Got my order wrong, i ordered a battered sausage and got a plain sausage which was soggy and oozing greese and the chips where awful. Looks like they keep old chips from previous days and fry them to death. Burnt full of horrible greese that leaves a coating in your mouth. Never again.

Have tried this place a couple of times food over cooked chips are really dark. Not very nice I won’t be returning.

Really very tasty food. The only bad thing is the big CASH ONLY sign on the till meaning when I popped my head in to see the prices, I then had to walk through the town looking for a cash point You can pay by card but via their website.

Fish was oily/greasy because it was cooked fresh and not left in the display cabinet. Which would allow it to drain/dry offand crisp up under the heat light. Although over all taste was amazing and I look forward to going back soon.

Nice to find a chip shop open on a Saturday evening in Devizes! Never been here before. Clean premises with a waiting area. Food tasty albeit a little more greasy than i would like. Rather expensive, but such is life at present. Cash only!

Not been here for a while.. checked on Google for opening times and was really put off by a load of recent bad reviews But...I am very sceptical about online reviews. So...I thought, since every time I have been here I have always had excellent fish and chips. What did I get?..... excellent fish and chips Great crisp chips cooked to order in fresh oil. (what the hell are Chinese chips?). Who goes for a Chinese meal and has chips? Sharon from the chip shop I guess Cod the size of a small whale in lovely light batter, almost Tempura Criticism? The portion size was mega. Enough for two. They could reduce the portion size and lower the price a bit I am pleased that I didn't allow the bad reviews to override my past experience with Lees

Great service, properly cooked fish and helpful capable staff. I have been shopping at Lees Devizes for over 8 years,first trying them on recommendation of my son and our local builder. Since visiting a month ago I have shopped at Lees 3 more times. We and our visitors have eaten cod (seniors) haddock plaice and chips. The only time in 8 years I have had an adverse comment to make was when a asked the British lady to ask the frier not to overcook the haddock. To my surprise they refused to charge my current purchase although I protested. I cannot believe the criticisms I read regarding people's purchases. Can it be competition and false news?

The chips here are not chip shop chips, they're chinese takeaway style and done really badly. Many people have commented that something seems wrong with the oil and I agree. Have been here twice and both times I ended up with an upset stomach, will definitely not be returning.

Overcooked chicken balls. Very poor customer service. Refund obtained through Just Eat. Looked like they had been cooked 10 times. Absolutely disgusting. Place should be shut down.

Lees used to be a really good Chinese fish and chip experience, the chips were cooked to perfection, staff were friendly and even during lock down when the started their take away services the food remained good. On Friday 21st Jan 22 my wife ordered fish and chips to be delivered, we were both getting in from work and ordered for 18.45, we were charged £21.50 for 1 large chips, 1 Cod and 1 Haddock with £3 delivery and ac 50p service charge, what that is for is beyond me, as 19.00 approached and still no sign off food my wife rang the restaurant to make sure it was on its way, she was told it wasn't due till 19.00 and she responded by stating she had a screenshot of confirmation it was 18.45. The girl on the other end of the phone sounded quite young and was relaying all this to another member of staff who in turn was telling her what to say. After a couple of minutes and now past 19.00 my wife received a message stating the order had been cancelled. My wife rang to find out what had happened and after the phone being answered she was cut off, I then tried and after explaining why I was ringing the same girl said her boss said they can't fullfill the order, I stated that as it was after 18.45 our expected order time and after 19.00 their given time how can they not deliver? again silence at the other end then the sound of 2 people arguing in Chinese in the background the girl then repeated she's sorry but her manager has said they can't give us our order.

Used to be good however now are absolutely trouble! I’ve never been a lover of the chips… BUT the chips have progressively gotten worse, they taste old. The fish used to be excellent but now it’s terrible, I’ve had chicken less chewy than the fish coming from this place recently not to mention it clearly wasn’t fresh and you could tell this by the smell let alone the chewy-ness … sadly got to say I will never be returning again.

I went in the other day ordered food. And battered sausage was. Hot but. Was so chewy chips were just covered in oil that clearly not being changed so often as they were really dark and crispy and then to top it of there daughter that works there didn’t hair hair net while in the front and started playing around with her hair then started whipping her nose and ended up with snot on her hand then started touching every thing and her mum said nothing. Not. The English lady that works there. All would of seen if I could see clear as day the wipes on her shirts and started handling food and I dread to think how off there daughters has done this and right in front of customers thought everyone should know that to be careful when you see there daughter in the shop because. You may end up with her grubby hands touching your food it made me feel so sick

I have ordered twice on line for fish and chips and both times they have cancelled my order saying I have not been charged but when I looked into my bank account YES I have been charged both time's. Warning to anyone that order's on line DONT they take your money but do not provide the good's

This used to be a fantastic place to have fish and chips but on the last visit batter wasn't even cooked and chips were not chip's they were wedges and tasted gross

Probably the best fish and chip shop in town. They are always polite and efficient. This is strictly a take-a-way as you cannot eat in. They will also deliver in bulk. We recently had a skittles match and they delivered 50 fish and chip suppers to us. Highly recommended.

Tip-top! Excellent quality, generous portions and keen pricing. Very clean and nice people. There are a few tables and you can eat in. Go there!

How do these people keep dishing out this dire food? The cod was so dry you could hardly swallow it - and both the fish and chips looked and tasted as though they had been re-heated about 3 times! Absolutely disgusting fare, hardly edible. We only ate some of it because we were so hungry - but never, ever again!

Just fancied fish 'n chips when we came to the town for a visit. Being fussy about quality I googled his and it came top on tripadvisor. Very happy. Great price and they were well cooked and fresh. Sat in the town centre with the kids and enjoyed them. recommend the Haddock.

The Best Fish and chips Ever!!!

I was really looking forward to fish and chips on a wet and windy Friday, and remembered Lees Fish and Chips being really good last time I visited, some time ago. I think it's changed hands as they were the worst chips I've ever had. . Hard, flat, dry and just really awful. The fish was the saving grace, it was fine. I won't be going back there though.

There are lots of good fish and chip shops in Devizes but if you want the best then you must visit Lees. Chips freshly cooked and to perfection! Mmm

First time going there for a few years and has gone down hill dramatically!! Chips tasted like they had been reheated ten times, batter sausage was burned and stale and we never got our cod that I had ordered!! Didn’t know until I had got home at which point was too late to go back and get one as live 15 minutes away so everything else would have been cold by the time I got back home!! Definitely would not recommend and have seen that there have been multiple other bad reviews that I wish I had seen before I went.

2 huge cod, 1 large portion of wonderful chips, just over £12.00. Delicious.

We have lived in Devizes 3 years had fish and chips no more than a handful of times , and more often than not from Lee's, but this will be the last time. Food luke warm at best, batter rubbery and fish chewy , chips, more crispy scraps than plump potatoes. The only reason I have given two stars , was there was no waiting. I suppose that tells a story in itself Seitself.

Its very clean and the portions are big and tastiest fish and chips .

They used to be great here, every chip was golden and fluffy, but something changed about a year ago, and now every chip tastes old and chewy. I notice big buckets of chips under the counter, they weren't there before nor was the new member of staff who can barely understand me, alas my chinese is not up to par.

The food was lukewarm, smelled funny and tasted unpleasant. For perspective my dog will eat anything. He ran away from this food. I should have followed him.

Lovely F&C's but special treat these days as all prices gone up....no criticism supplies obviously going up in price, I suppose it's more to look forward to only once every couple of months. 😢 Xxx

Their chips are fantastic as are the fish & burgers!! We always go here for chips as nowhere else compares with the taste!! They have spoiled me now as don’t like anyone else’s chips!!The fish potions are huge & the burgers have salad & relish in so very tasty!!

Crispy golden batter on both cod and sausages. Perfectly cooked chips. Tasty mushy pees. Very accommodating customer service bringing our order out to the car.

We frequently have fish and chips while travelling around in our motorhome and these were the best we have had for a long time. The cod was huge and the chips better than the normal offering. Beware, cash only, luckily I had a £20 note in my back pocket.

The food from Lees had a fantastic reputation and we always found you got good quality food until recently and I must say they have pgone down hill there food tast sour as though they really need to change there fat, and it was very greasy to so won’t be going there again until they improve.

Chips not as good as use to be, but could be new season off potatoes, but the food was only warm at best , fish greasy. No were near as good as use to be. Please up your game, don't want right you off.

The batter is crispy, the fish fresh and the chips are not re-cooked - my go to fish and chip shop and have tried them all in Devizes

Used to be great, not sure if owners have changed but took 45 minutes for my 25 minute telephone order, I’ve charged me £4.20 until I added it up myself and chips tasted like frozen ones and were undercooked and powdery. Best up your game or I’ll be going elsewhere which is a shame.
