Visited today for a festive lunch with three friends and I have to say it was most enjoyable. Food was served hot and plentiful and in fact was quite a large roast but we ate it all - well its nearly Christmas. The three mini puddings were also delightful and more than enough. Really good service as well. Would recommend this venue.

The portions are large, I had a small roast, which was more than I would normally eat. The food and service were fine and it's good value for money. The room is lovely, as it has high ceilings and beams, although as it's quite open it does make it chilly, some diners sat with their coats on. The outdoor space looks as though it would be great in summer.

Our small club meets here every month and 9 of us dined here for a Festive Meal. Could not fault it. We all enjoyed ourselves. So easy to arrange and book. Nothing is too much trouble. They will look after anyone who is gluten free. If you tell them when booking, the kitchen makes sure you don't miss out. I had gluten free stuffing and Yorkshire pudding with my meal. The staff are so easy to get along with, very friendly. Give The Crown a try, you won't be disappointed.

Friendly service and lots of great stories about the pub landlord’s previous lives! The food was clearly freshly made by a proper chef and not just heated up from the standard brought in pub offering. Good beers and wine, at reasonable prices, and we particularly liked the Swordfish ale. Excellent value and a nice family run pub.

Martin, Julie and the team were fantastic in hosting our family wake for my father. The buffet was homemade, generous and delicious. There was plenty for the vegetarian guests to eat and they dealt with our special requests without the bat of an eyelid. The service was always with a smile. It was a very simple and straightforward process to book and we felt incredibly well looked after. Our most sincere thanks to you all for taking such great care of us. A wonderful send off for my father

Omg what can I say outstanding service from the young lady Elsia. Food was fantastic. A small is very much a food coma which is what I go into after just the right size comes out very hot which is great. A pity I never have room for a pudding. I would recommend the Crown til the cows come home for your dinner plate. They are happy to accommodate your needs. A lovely team. Thank you very much.

Go no further if you’re looking for a good pub in Devizes. Between the Wharf car park and Wadworth Brewery (which sadly no longer offers tours), it’s handy for the delightful town centre and canal too. It’s a big pub with spaces ranging from outside courtyard to large and small inside dining areas, and plenty of historical interest. The food is mostly traditional British, all freshly cooked, very reasonably priced and in ample portions. The varied weekday lunch menu offers particularly good value. Our garlic mushrooms, cod and chips, ham and eggs, cheesecake were all delicious, and came with cheery service from Sam. We knew what to expect, having become fans of Martin and Julie while they ran ‘The Pheasant’ in Salisbury. Their winning formula has been successfully transplanted to Devizes, so we shall be back.

It was so good to pay our first-ever visit to Devizes, and it seems we were spoilt for choice with pubs! But we're so glad we chose The Crown - we had a lovely warm welcome, and really enjoyed our time there. Martin & Julie are doing such a great job running this historic inn, which stands in the shadow of the old Wadsworth Brewery - one of the most imposing buildings at this end of town. There's a menu to suit all tastes, and plenty of seating in the various areas of the pub, inside & out, plus a great beer range. If you've not been here for a while (or never visited), make sure you come down and give it a go - you won't be disappointed!

Had lunch yesterday. Fish and chips were superb. Hot and lovely chunky chips. Beautiful fish in a light batter. Sat in the air conditioned part of the bar which was very welcomed on the hottest day of the year! Was disappointed that we couldn’t fit a dessert in.

I'll start with the place in general, this is a well maintained clean, friendly, dog friendly good old English pub. We sat outside in the courtyard which lovely, some nice music in the background, loud enough to hear but not loud enough to spoil any conversation. My self and my daughter had a ploughman's which were superb! possibly the best I have had in quite a few years, fresh salad, plenty of cheese or ham in my daughters case, my wife had sausage and mash which was equally as good. The food was reasonably priced the menu was great and having recently moved to Devizes, this is our new favorite.

Definitely going here again. Superb meal of sea bass with nicely cooked veg for £16 and my husband had steak with chips at £25, again beautifully cooked. It took a while to come out of the kitchen but was well worth the wait. We ordered a chocolate cheesecake between us as the main courses were generous portions and they divided it before it was served onto two plates. So no fighting over who had most!! Absolutely delicious and homemade today. Very well priced, friendly service and worth a visit.

Sunday lunch was delicious. Service excellent. Food piping hot and plenty of it. It is good to see G/F on the menus, without having to ask. This was our 3rd visit and we have booked again for next Sunday. We are also booked in for next month as well, when our granddaughter is here. Thoughly recommend it. As The Crown is open 7 days a week, it is good to be able to dine out any day.

My partner and I dined on Saturday evening. I can't speak highly enough of the experience. The Landlords and staff are very approachable and friendly, and the food definitely didn't disappoint. Very good sized portions, cooked and presented to a high standard, and well priced. We enjoyed it so much we decided to try the Sunday lunch which again was fab. Will most certainly be back!

My hubby and l visited Malmesbury for the first time yesterday and looked into the cake tin shop. We realised that they sold cupcakes which by the way looked really nice so decided to buy a box of four to take home as it was our anniversary. They were delicious in fact the best l have ever tasted!!!! We will definitely be visiting this lovely shop again. Thank you to the team x

My son recently stayed here (pre-booked by the people he was visiting for an interview). He hasn’t got an account with Tripadvisor but insisted I give feedback on his behalf because he was so impressed. The staff were excellent and hospitable and the hotel was lovely. The staff were so kind and drove him to and from the train station. The whole experience certainly calmed his nerves; the Garden House will be fondly remembered and he has promised to recommend you to anyone looking to stay down that neck of the woods. Thank you from Frazer and the wider Cresswell clan.
