Always a pleasure dining here, it's not the cheapest but it's certainly not expensive considering the quality of the meals. Always a consistently high standard of ingredients and flavours. Definitely recommend and has never disappointed in the many times I've eaten here.

Made a reservation. Confirmed reservation. Drove to Salisbury on evening of reservation …. Only to discover restaurant was closed for summer vacation.

Very tasty, creative and delicious menu and good drink selection. Something different and really enjoyed the experience. Relaxed environment and much attention to detail including explanations of exactly what was in each dish we had.

Perfectly cooked, lovely food. Cod cheeks and fish soup starters were tasty and beautifully presented. Main courses of Guinea Fowl and Trout were both perfect. Probably the best food in Salisbury. Tasty food, served in a bright and cosy space flooded with natural light. Quiet atmosphere on a Saturday afternoon, we were the only ones dining. Meats were all succulent and delicious. Sharing plates on the small side, and “Asian BBQ” could’ve definitely had some better kimchi. Otherwise a good meal.

Had the most delicious meal at Allium last night. Great seat by the window overlooking Salisbury market square. We chose 5 of the small plates and a side and it was more than enough. Especially enjoyed the fish of the day (silver mullet!) and the goats curd. Every meal looked like a work of art with different, interesting tastes and flavours. The sort of food you won’t get anywhere else in Salisbury. Enjoyed mine with a glass of local Bluestone Vineyards English sparkling wine. A great place to go for a special occasion or a treat!

We came here because we were visiting the town for the first time and we picked the restaurant based on the high ratings. It actually deserved the 5 stars… really good food and great service. We ordered two starters, five mains and the dessert-tasting to share between three people and it was more than enough food. Best dishes were the Pan Fried Fish of the Day, Crab Bisque, Fennel Jam, Sweetcorn Fritter, and Chalk Stream Trout Ceviche, Potato Skins, Herb Mayo, Cherry Tomato

Just a superb restaurant serving the finest food! We opted for the tasting menu with the wine flight and it was a delight. Each plate was beautifully presented and a fantastic mix of flavours. Highlights were the fish with bisque sauce and corn fritter, and the courgette spaghetti with wild garlic pesto. All in all a truly memorable experience and we'll definitely be back!

Booked for our wedding anniversary/birthday, hoping for “special”. Did not expect to find pure “excellence”! We like to treat ourselves to a fancy restaurant every now and then, but decided to stay local and supportive on this occasion. We opted for the tasting menu and wine flight (with additional pre dinner cocktail) and happily spend three hours taking our time over the whole experience because it was, quite simply, exquisite! Tim has clearly poured his heart and soul into each dish, and Jake’s knowledge of wines was evident. We could find almost no fault at all in our evening, but the care and dedication was clear without being imposing or cocky. Without sounding priggish, we’ve had some excellent dining experiences, and this is up there with the best of them! We’ll be back…. And soon I think! Incredible find! Imaginative menu, with interesting portion sizes - recommended 2/3 “main” course selections per person. At our advanced years, 3 between us was enough. The lamb in particular was delicious. And special commendations too for the desserts. Service very good too. Worth the £87 price tag (inc 2 glasses of wine each)

Salisbury in the rain - but Allium provided us with a delightful evening in comfortable surroundings with imaginative and delicious food.

The wife and I went for a valentines meal. We had never eaten here before and I was curious to learn how it was. Well we were not disappointed, the food was delicious, had to get our head round ordering a number of dishes as they are small portions in comparison to what you would expect in a normal restraunt, but this is fine dining so it's to be expected. The food was outstanding and we felt we were suitably full without over eating. Would recommend for special occasions.

I came for dinner in January and back for lunch in February with friends. Both times excellent service and the most amazing food. Tim the chef is incredibly talented and I feel like this place is the best kept secret in town. I can't recommend Allium enough for a special dinner or night out.

We have just had an excellent, well presented and inventive meal made with fresh, delicious ingredients at this hidden away star of a place. What a find and what a joy to have somewhere special to eat in Salisbury. Highly recommended - we will be back!

We visit regularly - the food is excellent with interesting and varied dishes cooked very well. Service is friendly and helpful, although can suffer a little when the restaurant is full and busy. This is our go to restaurant in Salisbury and if you want a quality dinning experience definitely worth a visit.

We had the most delicious meal here for my birthday last night. We’ve been wanting to try eating here for ages and I am so glad we did. The service was fantastic and so was the food. The treacle bread was delicious. I ordered a risotto which I never do but it was without a doubt the best risotto I’ve ever eaten. My partner and I shared the pork belly and fish for main, I preferred the fish but both we lee delicious and we shared a tasting platter for dessert. The panna cotta was my favourite! An exceptional meal and we cannot wait to return.

We booked a table at 6pm for 4 for a pre theatre dinner. One of our party had allergies which Jake had asked about at the time of booking. When we arrived, they had clearly spent time thinking about what she could have ton the menu and told us how they could tweak the couple of items she otherwise couldn't have eaten. We pretty much ordered one of each of the main items including a couple of the sides to share. The dishes were brought out a few at a time as each was cooked fresh which was great as we could take our time trying each one. Presentation and flavours were incredible and portion sizes were more than enough for us to be able to taste a bit of each dish. Will definitely be going back! Highly recommend!

An absolute gem. Real fine dinning at affordable prices. Good wines to go with an interesting take on main course dishes. And when it came to dessert and I couldn’t choose there is a sampler which gives you a taste of them all - I thought I had gone to heaven and still could not choose my favourite. This meal alone was so good it would be enough to bring me back to Salisbury again.

Quality cuisine but uneven portions, a little small. The waiters are not up to standard, the welcome really needs to be improved, no attention to customers, do not come to the table once the dishes are served, do not present the contents of the plates, "take care" at the bar rather than go see the customers, do not offer the menu... in short, lousy service for rather inventive, original and mastered cuisine.

Alium is all about food, the decor is a bit bland, service is good enough (and not irritatingly showy as some foody places are). But the food is exceptional, especially at this price point. Between two, we shared 4 small plates and a shared assiette of desserts plus a decent bottle of wine for a shade over £50 each. Each dish was fine dining quality, the confit duck with mango and curried sweet potato puree was exceptional as was one of the best cooked fillet of mullet I have ever had (beautifully crispy skin and fall apart moist flesh served with a bisque). I liked the small plate menu with the expectation of sharing, which means you end up with your own custom tasting menu, I would have struggled to choose just one dish. People with large appetites would probably want a plate or 2 more than we had, but with each dish around £10 hardly bank breaking. If you want imaginative uncompromisingly good food without pretension, this is the place

Absolutely superb dining experience. The quality of the food and presentation of the plates is close to Michelin Star standard. The menu concept is unusual in that you can have ‘nibbles’ as an aperitif then the main menu comprises of dishes that are sized between starter and main which means you can have between 2-3 dishes which is an ideal way of sampling a number of the exceptional dishes. Similarly with the desserts - the tasting selection of 3 desserts is delicious. The wine list is small but absolutely adequate with a very well balanced selection of quality wines. Would recommend requesting a window seat - where you can watch the world go by below you in Salisbury’s busy market square (assuming it’s daylight!) whilst enjoying an outstanding dining experience.

Wow wow wow! Had lunch at the Allium today, a group of 4 in their 70's who have had plenty of experience of dining in top class restaurants over the years. The meal we had was second to none! Don't let anyone fool you with their 4 stars given because of something other than the food. The meal was of the highest quality, absolutely superb. We all had three courses, when usually most of us would have no more than two, and felt it was the best meal we have had in a very long time. Although for obvious reasons the menu may be considered limited by some people, at least it was interesting and no sign of a burger or fish and chips anywhere.
