The best restaurants serving British food in Swindon South West

This is the best cocktail bar in town. The guys here are the top notch crew. I come down here as I live quite close. The pressure is on due to the time of year. The manager, obviously stressed, but still gave me eye contact and smiled. 5☆. I'm an elderly woman enjoying a glass of wine but I don't feel awkward or that I shouldn't be here. I've worked in night clubs and bars for 52 years and yes I did lie about my age but these guys have it sorted. I cannot recommend them enough.

Was led to believe this place had been done up I am not sure how can it be in worse shape than it was previously not good something is just off with this place would not recommend it to anyone very strange.

We ate in the magnificently decorated bar and my choice of food, the venison steak was pretty good. The service staff were very pleasant and the bar had a choice of excellent cask ale. It is probably not the cheapest place around, but we were pleased to have found it and had a very nice meal.

It’s a lot quieter now, fewer people, than when we were last here. Even a booth was available! £20 for 2 breakfasts and 2 filter coffees

Food and service excellent. Sunday lunch was plentiful, healthy beautifully cooked. Two of us had salmon which was awesome. Cooked perfectly with spinach and cavalier Nero and the most amazing mashed potato on the planet.

Visited the Swindon Hub cafe for a craft day. Safe, friendly and helpful new café in Swindon. Local crafts and info point. NIce new place in Swindon to escape, on the Parade.

8 of us were squeezed on a table for 6 but were moved after a while when we requested. My fish pie was nice & the men liked their burgers. The lasagne was nice but too small. The curry that 2 of our party had was awful, chewy and vinegary. All the glasses looked dirty but were probably scratched from dishwasher. They need to be replaced. The service left a bit to be desired. The waitress asked us to pass our starters along ourselves & the hosts were scruffy, especially considering they had a big christening party in. Must try harder if they want customers to return.

Today I had one of the best roast lunches ever. It was delicious. I had roast pork belly which was beautifully tender and wrapped in fabulous pork crackling. With this I had crunchy roast potatoes, parsnips, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower cheese (this was an add on) Yorkshire pudding and gravy. The food was piping hot.

Went above and beyond for my brothers birthday allowing him to make his own ice cream which he really enjoyed.

what a pub should be, no pretence or faux jollity, beer and chat cable of keeping you on your toes always my first stop when visiting swindon

This is a very nice pub but called in for drinks at 3pm on a Saturday. Struggled to find a table as minority occupied or mostly reserved but empty . Two hours later the majority of the reserved tables were still unoccupied . Poor management in my view.

Went for Christmas day dinner, great food and service and we would definitely go again.

Went for Valentines evening meal. I’m gluten and lactose intolerant. The staff gave me the gluten and dairy free menus which was great, and made me aware of what specials I could also eat. It wasn’t an issue at all for them. Lovely staff, lovely atmosphere. Had a lovely burger with gluten free burger buns that didn’t crumble for once and vegan cheese that melted! Staff made sure when bringing me my food that it was suitable for me. Will go back soon. Highly recommend for intolerances.
