Best meal we've had in ages, and some of the best chips potentially ever. Highly recommend for meat eaters and veggies

We visited while on holiday and made a point of visiting just after they opened for breakfast. This place is clean, welcoming and we had a good wholesome breakfast which we could not fault (see photos). Well done everyone to them also for being cash only and supporting local farmers (as demonstrated by the ‘No Farmers, No Food’ sign in the window). Conveniently located if you have parked in the nearby car park and are off to shop in the lovely high street.

We booked a Sunday lunch here for a birthday, it was great ! We wanted to take a special bottle of wine with us, they only charged a very reasonable £5 corkage. Lovely setting.

During our month-long stay in Totnes, I visited our family at least four times a week at the Signal Box. I enjoy the sandwich selection, sausages, fish sticks, and hashbrowns, as do my grandsons. They are regulars. The staff is excellent, and the chef takes pride in the work.

Stopped here while waiting for a bus. Had a lovely cappuccino and sausage roll. It was reasonably priced and the staff were nice too

We can’t pass the place on a market day without having a burger. The house sauce is to die for and very filling too! The two ladies (mother and daughter) who run it are great!) and the coffee is lovely too. What more could you want.

Stayed here for two nights in Feb. Ate there both nights, and had breakfast. Would really recommend it as a beautiful, comfortable, eco-friendly place to visit. Amazing options on the menu, which changes daily. Incredibly cocktails - pear and ginger sidecar was a highlight. Particularly enjoyed breakfast - we chose savoury waffles, a really crispy fried egg, and perfect flat whites. Team were really friendly and helped me with some confusion around a voucher. Will definitely be back.

Excellent service and staff: so good …we came back for more! Thanks to Sam and his team (Tristan) for making us feel welcome. Had a great takeaway pizza on our first night in Totnes. It was clear then that customer service as well as good food mattered to them… so.. we booked a table for our second evening…. with our dog who was welcomed and treated with biscuits galore. A great experience. It’s so important to acknowledge great staff and great eateries like this. Service matters and we’re grateful that it matters here.

Popped in for lunch with my husband and our two little dogs. The staff are very friendly and the dogs thoroughly enjoyed the treats they were given. We both had the kedgeree which was served with a lovely side salad and it was delicious. We’ve been here several times now and it’s always great. Looking forward to our next visit.

The warm welcome and delicious lunch (we both opted for the Welsh Rarebit, how could you not) made our visit to Totnes. Definitely planning a return visit. Clearly a very old building that has its challenges but they are also part of its charm.

I ordered Chicken Supreme but received a piece of chicken with smashed potato mash, and greens.....in gravy. When we were asked if everything was ok, I questioned the 'chicken supreme', to which I was told that 'it's the chef's take on it'. What?? She went to the kitchen, coming back to say that chicken supreme was 'the cut of the meat'. That may be so, but it should be served with a creamy sauce with mushrooms, not regular meat gravy. I was disappointed that I was fobbed off, dismissed. I'll be trying somewhere else next time.

A delicious and wholesome soup of the day. Tomato and ginger. A popular and attractive venue with stone walls. Welcoming and cheerful crew. 🇬🇧🇳🇿

Friendly little pub with some additional out door seating. Had a decent ale here from the bar. The landlord was accommodating and the pub interior was great

Old pub with friendly staff. They were having problems with the beer when I went in, ales were all off unfortunately. Function room and kitchen upstairs.

We had the specials and a very reasonably priced bottle of Spanish white wine. A delicious fish stew, cooked perfectly, with large plump mussels and prawns and a panko crumbed chicken burger. Good service and a very enjoyable lunch.
