I have been to Totnes several times, yet have never had the chance to try this cafe until now. This did not disappoint! I had a chai tea which is not like the lattes, but instead a subtle and pleasant flavour in a cup of tea which I enjoyed. My friend and I both had the goats cheese and onion marmalade toastie, which was phenomenal! I will definitely come back just to get that sandwich

The staff are really good. They went out of their way to ensure that the service was good and we never had empty plates on the table for long. The food portions however were not so good. I had a breakfast which was just a slice of bacon, one egg and some beans with 1 slice of toast. It could hardly be called a breakfast. The food tasted good though so the quality of food was definitely good enough. We also had cake which was good. My wife had a cream tea here which was her third cream tea of the week! This little cafe had the best cream tea of them all apparently.

My daughter can't eat gluten so we were very excited when we found this place with the choice of several gluten free cakes on offer. The cake and drinks were average but I'm afraid the service left a lot to be desired. We placed and paid for our order but the waitress left us waiting whilst she served all the takeaway orders and other people who came in after us. Once she apologised then brought the wrong order and again we had to wait for everyone around us to get theirs first. If I hadn't already paid I would have walked out. There are so many other nice places, don't visit this one!

Although we live locally and try every new cafe in town we return to the Brioche again and again. The service is lovely and quirky (hey, its Totnes) and for the price the food just couldn't be better. There are a wide range of options from big breakfasts to burgers, vegetarian fare and soups - all tasty and generally served with quality touches like a small salad with well-prepared vinegrette and other such extras. Its nice to see a local place that cares about the food they serve and their customers' experience - always always polite, friendly and accommodating without a big fuss or pretention. I feel sorry for the lady who got bad service, because, like everybody else I interacted with in Totnes, my waitress was very nice. Te atmosphere was good, as was the food. I got ploughman's and my serving was huge.

Great food, lovely quaint cafe; however what let the cafe down was the behaviour of one young lady, who cannot comprehend the idea of service with a smile. When ordering my food she completely spoke over me, when I asked for the table to be wiped and cleared. I had to ask for the table to be wiped a second time and she gave me a look. I had then noticed she was talking about me to her other member of staff.... I have never been made so unwelcome! I manage my own cafe in Cornwall, and I cannot believe how some people get it so wrong!

We ran in here to shelter from the july rain, and did not regret our haste. Totnes is full of good independent cafes - the town is currently running a campaign to keep Costa out- so there is plenty of competition. Excellent coffee, healthy and interesting salads, homemade burgers using local beef, and friendly service. All good: go.

Nice food on offer here. The staff are slightly indifferent (maybe that's just Totnes) and the place looks a bit jumbled but apart from that, a great little cafe.

This small cafe faces competition from several others on the same road. We decided to eat here for lunch as it looked so inviting. The staff were very friendly and the sandwiches and tea were delicious. All of the food srved is sourced locally. From perusing the menu, there seems a varied choice of food all at reasonable prices.

We visited Totnes on one of the rainiest days of the summer so far and our main objective was to get out of the rain and warm up with a nice cuppa. There are a lot of eateries in Totnes to chose from but The Brioche Cafe looked nice so we gave it a try.It is fairly small but has a welcoming interior and they have some very unusual but nice artwork on the walls which is for sale. We only had coffee and a cake but they had a very reasonable special on at £3.50 and there was a nice range of cakes to chose from. The coffee was good and the service was pleasant so it ticks all the boxes for me.

We stayed 3 nights, Fri Sat & Sun, very comfortable well furnished room, ensuite, with breakfast (diy) available in little kitchen down the hall. Wonderful old world inn, great bar, and bar food til 8.30 (lunchtime til 5 on Sunday, no evening meal). Very friendly and helpful staff, and wonderful location in the wilds of Dartmoor.

I loved this pub. We walked from Salcombe and it was well worth it (don't worry, you can drive there too). It had the feel of a genuine pub with some good beers that happened to do great food also. I had possibly the best burger I have had in a long time and my wife had a fantastic steak sandwich. Both were freshly prepared scratch. They have vegan options too. I notice some negative reviews, mostly due to poor service. We arrived at 12 noon on a weekday in October. Even so, the place was full by the time we left, so it is clearly a popular place. The service we experienced was without fault. I hope our experience is the norm.

Great late lunch with family, biggest haddock I have ever seen. Had that locally caught ling, calamri and my wife just cheesy chips. All with crispy fresh batter, chips golden but soft inside. Even cheesy chips were top, 1/2 chips, then cheese, more chips and topping of more cheese. All top quality, even the ice cream and with nice pints of Otter, bitter & ale on tap. Great way to end off long walk on the beach. You won’t be disappointed..
