This place was thriving, I guess another cozy pub/restaurant to add to the others that have now gone. Went for food, just a sausage roll to offer, games room now in the dining area, what a way to put people off even more. To top it off, spoke to someone called John who called himself the owner. Very rude person, no need to add more. Good bye the miners arms Such a shame, in the right hands again this place has so much potential.

Came for the advertised bbq that was supposed to start from 12, got there at 11.45 so we could get seated. Left at 1pm as we were all starving and they hadn't even started cooking! Staff didn't know when the food was going to be available and seemed clueless about this event. If it's advertised from 12, it should start at 12. Not sure what's happened to the place as the lovely conservatory has now turned into a games room. Shame, as all of this has put us off from returning here.

We visited this evening for a family meal. First time my wife and I have been and will definitely not be the last. My wife’s first glass of wine didn’t taste right, she was happy to drink it but after tasting it, I asked at the bar if they could also taste it as it wasn’t right. I think it could have been a landlord I spoke to, as well as the barman, and it was no trouble at all, they opened another bottle, only to realise the original glass wasn’t quite right, and replaced it. Very friendly, and very helpful. We ordered our food, I had the Chimi Steak and my wife had the Miners Beef Burger. Both meals were delicious, credit to the Chef. My son and his girlfriend also thoroughly enjoyed their meals too. The waitress, I think her name might be Ava, was just the best. Very friendly, helpful and professional service, an absolute credit to the Miners /arms. We travelled up from Cornwall as our son lives in Plympton, and it was well worth the journey. Thank you very much, we’ll see you again soon

The main restaurant with open views was very nice if a bit warm and bright with the sun on it. Staff were very attentive and friendly and they would get 5 stars. However, this was our visit to this pub based on recommendations and previous reviews billing it as a Gastro pub. That it is not. The menu was basic pub fare ie burger, fish & chips, scampi, pizza, curry , pasta ect and not the same as other menus posted previously. Food we had was ok but probably overpriced for what it was . Two of us had scampi but only around 6 pieces in a basket with some fries and small portion of peas. Not good value at £14.50. Burgers were £15.50. Also for desert two small balls of poor quality ice cream for £4 i thought was also . Overall i think quality and quantity needs to be increased to entice us to return.

Whoever owns this clearly can’t be bothered? I remember coming here many years ago under the old management and we kept coming back because it was the perfect place to dine with kids. The kids play area is run down, dingy high chairs that have just been left to rot in the corner; the benches need replacing. The food is so average in comparison to the prices they charge, you would get more for your money in Macdonalds. Embarrassing quality. Staff are inexpearienced ‘kids’ that appear far too aloof and not bothered. Whoever owns this, sort this establishment out. You are happy to charge high prices however put no investment into the play area or training of the staff and chefs. Confusing place.

The Miners Arms has got to be one of our worst experiences of hospitality in south Devon in the South Hams that has got to offer. From start to finish, Poor food presentation and the lack of imagination and the staff preoccupied, and the lack of communication and experience . I don't take lightly writing negative comments but to rely on young people that are not trained in hospitality professionally is a terrible reflection on the business, I might also add that we witnessed on leaving from the rear of beer garden and couldn't help witness that the kitchen / preparation areas was in a state untidiness and didn't looked very hygiene safe.

Booking for 8 good friends, I looked for a nice venue, which it is, offering a square table so we could all sit around and chat easily. I was assured on booking this was fine & even double checked earlier in the day that all was ok & square table still available. No - we were given a long table! There was no excuse as the restaurant was empty all evening. Half the main meals were unavailable & no ice cream! 3 meals were cold & had to be replaced. All meals were tasty & well presented, but the waiting for 3 replacement meals just added to the frustration. We felt sorry for the waitress who was very patient & apologetic. No sign of any management to speak to us to ease the situation. Will not return.

My food was terrible. Tagliatelle with beetroot and goats cheese. Sounds a nice choice but the pasta had no sauce on it but the sauce arrived in a side pot instead. Just as well I tasted it before i poured it on the pasta as it tasted off and fishy. The goats cheese also came in a side pot for some reason, so I had to put it in myself. The small portion of ‘fresh’ pasta looked grey and was served on a long plate rather than a bowl, all for about the sum of £15. Hats off to a pub who can serve up a simple pasta dish so badly. As the pub did not have a chef for some considerable time and now they are serving this quality of food, I suggest they start looking for a chef again or go back to just drinks. Book a meal somewhere else.

I haven't been to the Miners Arms for years but select it for a business lunch nearby my guest's offices, and what a lovely surprise it was. The staff were very cheerful, happy and welcoming, the restaurant is very clean and in a lovely setting and the food was absolutely delicious. It was a hot day so we both had the house salad. I had bacon and chicken with mine and my guest had hake, all freshly made and well presented. I'll be back sooner rather than later !

I have been here a while ago and now new owners. Went with friends for Sunday lunch. ON arrival it was quiet, but it was heaving with people when we left. Staffing was adequate when we arrived and had very good food, l had the duck which was really good, we all enjoyed our lunch, but when it when it came to pay at the till, it was really busy with people queuing to order food for outside, more staff were definitely needed.(Inside only waiting staff). Perhaps they outside customers could order at the bar. Plenty of seating and two different gardens and a very large car park. Views excellent too. Service was good till it got really busy. Would return.

It appears that they do not pay their contractors. Be very, very careful if they buy any goods or services from you on credit.

We visited after a long walk along the beautiful coastal route. The location is lovely and rather quirky (outdoor seats and tables are stone). We were told we were too late for paninis, so settled for drinks only. Sadly, the coffee was average and the banana milkshake totally disgusting (tasted like Nesquik, topped with squirty cream and hundreds and thousands - not what was expected, at all!). When asked if there was a water bowl for our dogs, the older lady employee was abrupt and rude, making us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Some staff training in customer service is required, perhaps? It costs nothing to be polite and pleasant.

Wonderful traditional pub. A great pub with good beer and, I'm told, excellent food. Just be aware that it closes relatively early (as do quite a few pubs in Kingsbridge). Get there for an early evening drink - say about 7pm. It really is a delightful old pub with a great atmosphere.
