Love this little place and always visit when staying at Newberry Valley campsite. Ordered coffee and hot chocolate to take away up to seating round the corner so we could look out over the sea. The rich gluten free chocolate cake is thoroughly deserving of its award. So many tasty sauces etc in bottles for sale too. Always gets visited promptly whenever I’m in Combe Martin

We would just like to show our appreciation to Craig, Annie and the team for our lovely evening. We felt spoilt. It was clearly a busy evening but the service and quality of the meals was excellent. I had the rack of ribs with the homemade “monkey glad” sauce. Honestly, so good, it felt naughty, they were that good. Everyone commented on how good their meals were and the a great selection of beers, ales, cider and lagers on tap. The Guinness was top notch. Happy to recommend but advise booking in advance

Beware parking fines! Just got a £100 fine for parking up for cream tea. The parking is nothing to do with the cafe but a lovely cream tea just become an incredibly expensive experience - more signs needed on the cafe to remind customers to pay and display - inadequate signs outside Storm in a Teacup

Closed down! Not one cafe open in Combe Martin! Came to Combe Martin to walk some of the coastal path. Hoped to get some lunch at a cafe.

My sister and brother in law wanted to treat me to a special meal. They booked the Taster Menu for the 3 of us. The waitress was very attentive and gave wonderful service. However we were not offered the wines to go with the taster menu which seemed odd if you are having a taster meal. When the ‘amuse bouché’ arrived there was only 2 portions and we were told it was a sharing plate, really? No mention of that on the menu. The meal was very slow coming out and when it did it was extremely salty. To say I was embarrassed for my sister who wanted to treat me, is an understatement so much so that I actually paid the bill. I’m afraid I am probably spoilt by eating in France most of the time, but my impression of this restaurant is that it’s over pretentious and sadly not brilliant. Although a fabulous location with great views, I do not wish to return.

On Holiday in Berrynarbour. Lovely place. I had looked online at the Ye Olde Goble and was interested to see such a pub with a history. I was impressed with how the interior had been kept to its original style and not upgraded to a chain pub. The food looked good so we decided to have a drink before ordering food. I stood at the bar for 5 minutes before being acknowledged and my order taken. I was the only customer at the bar but the staff were busy with I assumed other things. Now I am up for rustic charm but the charm of the dog hair in my beer and some other unidentifiable flotsam in my beer put me off 1: Finishing my beer. 2: Ordering meals. Now I really at the time should spoken to the staff and made them aware but I couldn’t be bothered as after the wait to get served had already marked the Ye Olde Golbe down. When returning to the area we will return as is a nice pub and this may have been a One off.

In a word: appalling. We ordered two ham and cheese panninis - nothing too complicated there you'd gave thought. First, they got the order wrong: annoying but not the end of the world. However, we had to wait almost 50 minutes for the food we ordered to arrive, after having chased it three or four times and being told each time that it was coming. The staff were either untrained or incompetent. And we had to pay a 10% service charge!

Whilst staying here on holiday at Hidden Valley we decided to book for Sunday lunch. Had a lovely plate full of roast beef and pork, roast potatoes, roast parsnips and carrots, green beans, cauliflower cheese, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding and plenty of nice rich gravy. It was lovely and hot, plus great friendly staff. Highly recommended.
