Really lovely place to have breakfast @Stowford Farm Meadows! The choice on the breakfast menu is great, with a special children s menu!. Staff are all friendly and helpful! Really nice family atmosphere. The full English is a must!

Don’t take phone orders, was told to come and order and wait. Then told they not taking any orders. Twice we have visited Stowford Farms and twice we have been disappointed with the chippy. So sad ☹️

We had curry which was a home pride cooking sauce or similar and a pizza which was a frozen base with tomato purée and cheese on top with no seasoning. Service was shocking. Really really disappointed. I last came 2 years ago and it was great. I won’t be going again any time soon.

Ate a couple days here and all the food is spot on! Carvery is to die for and fish and chips are amazing. Would highly recommend eating here if your in the area!

We had the nicest fish and chips at the Tight Lines Chippy at Stowford Farm Meadows. It was so nice we had it a couple of nights later, the chips and fish cooked perfectly and the curry sauce also really good. Well recommended

The new management in the takeaway has raised the quality and speed of service to high levels that will see them busy all season long.

Visited with my wife & 4 grandsons because we had heard good things about the carvery. I contacted the restaurant to find out if we had to be residents to use the place, thankfully anybody can go. We had a warm welcome from the staff and were swiftly shown our table and drinks order taken. Food was super tasty and loads of choice, the grandkids loved it that much they went up for more. Will definitely return and definitely recommend

We went for a Sunday carvery today and I have to say one of ther best we have ever had. The Pork belly was simply delicious, just melted in the mouth. There was a good selection of vegetables, everythin was hot and the service waecellent. The esserts we hadf were really great, the best Apple and cherry crumble I have ever tasted and would recommend to anybody.

The stable bar was closed for a private function so we opted for a takeaway. Each time we chose something they didn't have it available, eventually chose cod chunks & chips. We decided as it was a nice day we'd sit outside and have a drink whilst waiting for our food. There was only one person working between takeaway & restaurant! The bar in the wild pheasant had 2 choices of alcohol, doom bar or cider. I ended up with Diet Coke & then going into the shop to get fruit shoot for my grandson. Food eventually was ready an hour later, got back to caravan to find that we hadn't received a curry sauce, which my daughter had ordered, my daughter drove back to find it closed! Food was okish, but I think the long wait had spoilt it as my hunger had worn off. Will only use as an emergency choice next time.

Lovely campsite, very clean and quiet. This review is not about those facilities, but about the "restaurant" and "takeaway". Mediocre food, poor service and poor menu. They had no wine, allowed us to choose our meals and then told us they weren't available. There were 5 dishes unavailable. The diet coke was flat and the service was very poor, largely due to being run by teenagers. 2 sat on barstools chatting throughout, even as I struggled with a baby and pram to get out of the door (next to the barstools) and the music was 80s house throughout the meal. The food was okay, but nothing to shout about. Not a great experience. I'd give it a miss and go to the old stables pub or cook yourself.

If you are in a hurry don't expect to get serviced quickly here, only ordered 5 portions of chips took my order and then waited over 30 minutes, some people waited long and others came in after and got serviced when they only ordered chips. Half Term week, not 12" pizzas, no nuggets, some pies weren't available.

On the few occasions we have used this take-away it has been busy and consequently the wait is inevitable. The food is average. Hygiene is the biggest let down. Serving staff wear no gloves and handle monies and frozen food with no cleansing of hands. On my latest visit the freezer door was left opened for at least 4 minutes while the fish was handled and put in the fryer and other duties were attended to. If this is in front of customers........ Hopefully the high fat temperature kills off the germs from the handled coins.

Excellent camp site. Very clean through out, only let down by the occasional thoughtless dog owners not clearing up their dogs mess. Excellent shower blocks. Clean and plenty of hot water. Chip shop only open a few hours a day and very slow. But quite good food. Good stocked shop. Families and dogs very welcome.

Estaba un poco sorprendido de ver que el sitio de caravana tenía su propio Fish and Chips, pero nos dimos cuenta que siempre está lleno, así que pensé que le daría una oportunidad. Los precios eran aceptables y después de una corta espera para patatas fritas recién preparado fuera nos preguntábamos con nuestra comida, era muy sabrosa.

Smashing site and great food can get everything from fish and chips to pizzas, reasonably priced and will definitely use again

No siempre es una experiencia agradable, las esperas largas en exceso de 40 minutos en la temporada, largas fuera de temporada mientras cocinan a la orden. Este aparte si y cuando te sirven la comida es buena. Personal podría verse más limpia y aunque no been tidier buena impresión

I have a rule that if i buy F&C; in a chip shop that the chips should be fresh not frozen, these were frozen and so not worthy of a review also the wait just for a bag of chips was embarrassing, understaffing seems to be the cause of bad service, laziness the cause of frozen chips.

We took 2 members of our family out for Dinner on Thursday 1st September and each of us had a different meal but every meal looked amazing and tasted equally as good. Service was first class. Will definitely return.

We had the fish and chips takeaway, food was cooked to order so was hot and freshly cooked when eaten, but did mean a wait for it to be cooked. I didn't mind the wait to get hot tasty food. It was delicious, and one of the better fish and chips I've had anywhere in recent years

It's great that the campsite can offer a fish and chip shop. Who ever thought if that one needs a pat on the back. Decent fish and chips too at a reasonable price. Fish often cooked to order so allow for a waiting time. Cheers guys.

Now this is not a go at the two guys serving but I have never seen such disorganised shambles in my life.All I wanted was two lots of cod and chips, was served fairly quickly and then the wait began.Should of known as there was five people in front of me and one women moaning she had waited 35 minutes for cheesy chips.The chip shop also serves the restraunt next door.Anyway after what seemed an age I was finally given my order...went back to the tent and unwrapped my fish and chips.The batter was soft and fairly greasy and the chips were average,hense to say we will not be eating from there again lesson learnt.This is our third visit to stowford and we have already booked next year's visit but have to say the chip shop is a very disappointing part of a beautiful and we'll run caravan and camping place.

an excellent facility when camping. The Pizza was a little sad but the fish and chips top. A little slow with service and managing the orders but friendly and, Pizza aside, good quality food, reasonably priced.

On site fish and chip shop that does other take away food too, but the f&c are simply scummy. Really fresh and we'll cooked.Also supplies the restaurant next door.Recommended

The whole Stowford experience was so enjoyable, before leaving we had to book again for the VW Weekend 2016, we extended our camping dates 28th April - 3rd May, so looking forward to it. This being an area of North Devon that's new to us. Many new places to explore and such a good place to stay, very good value.

We have stayed her for the past 2 years. It's a great camp site and central to all local beaches. You will need transport to get around. The food is good value for money and very tasty. Highly recommended

We stay at Stowford for most of the summer as we have a permanent site, use takeaway a lot and havent hadf a bad one yet, been going down for 25+ years.

Complete disorganised shambles. I have never seen such a poorly run takeaway in my life! It beggars belief that they get away with it!

SLOW SLOW SLOW! Get somebody in there that knows what they are doing. You pay up front and then have to wait ages for even a bag of chips.

A good variety of quality food, cooked fresh to order. Can be very busy at times but well worth the wait.

Takes an absolute age to be served so not a quick option at all. It was lovely when we got it. Shame it took so long.

Nice fish and chips! Batter wasn't to my wifes liking but I loved it. Chips were freshly made and delicious. Sensibly priced.

Normal Chippy prices but really tasty chips, almost like wedges. Friendly staff, was very busy even though campsite wasn't too busy, signs that it is very popular!

I Ordered chips and curry sauce but after what seemed like an eternity I received hard potato type scraps and a pot of curry flavoured sultanas. Chips were obviously recooked within an inch of their lives and curry must have been the scrapings from the bottom of the pan.

not well staffed and did not taste nice at all. Walked up and after a long wait was served the scraps from the day, being informed that tomorrow the wait maybe longer as he will be there on his own!

Good Fish and Chips, can get busy on Friday nights but its worth the wait. They do other items as well

Fish and chips filled a hole. Food Ok. Queue. Just average chip shop in a busy town (or so it seemed).

Good English Fish n Chips, great value and good when you can't have a barbecue due to good old English weather.

We stayed at stowford for a week and used the takeaway once, The portions are not that big but quite pricey! The lunchtime we visited they did not have 2 of the things we wanted to order as supplies were not coming until the evening. We are returning to the campsite but not sure we would bother using the takeaway.
