The best restaurants serving British food in Exmouth Town East Devon South West

We had the most amazing meal here for a family birthday. The food was fantastic and the service was brilliant. I have to mention Amy as she made us feel so welcome and really looked after us! We were a party of 10 and each of us were really pleased with the meal and whole experience. The Wine Hub also offers great vegetarian and vegan options as we had a few in the party. Well done and thank you. We would definitely recommend and we will be back!

The beach is 50m away from Aby's, we were able to takeaway delicious food to the beach and enjoy the day, the food was freshly made, crisp salads, better than chip shop chips and service with a smile, what more could a customer want

Small friendly busy cafe with outside seating. Nice food, Big scones, but doughy and pricey. I wish they didn't close at 2 pm as that's a bit early for my afternoon coffee fix

There is a sign saying "best cream tea in Devon" and I have to say, I totally agree! Try the honey and Lavender scones, delicious!

I sit in Franklin's on The Stand on a Sunny Thursday afternoon. Mat and his team have once again provided something that so many other venues fail to deliver on these days. Menu - 10/10 Staff - 10/10 Vide - 10/10 Overall - 10/10 Due to current political decisions, small businesses like this are struggling. I highly recommend this business, they are trying super hard to diversify to make ends meet. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

A lovely basic cafe/restaurant for bland british fare, if you like your food bland, you'll love it here. Always a warm welcome, plenty of choice on their menu, quick efficient service, and great value for money, food is always well prepared and presented

Just visited Sunday lunch 3 roast dinners lovely I myself had macaroni cheese ordered a side of chips big mistake as there was plenty of macaroni Yorkshire puds all a bit overdone but hey ho staff are very friendly and helpful

Had the most wonderful lunch here with friends a couple of days ago and just had to share what a special place The Turf is! From the moment we arrived (after a lovely walk along the canal), everything was spot on. The food was absolutely delicious – you can really taste the quality, and knowing they use local ingredients makes it even better. The drinks were perfect, just how we like them. But what really stood out was the service – truly superb! Friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. It really elevated the whole experience. During lunch, I learned they also have hotel rooms available year-round, and now I can't stop thinking about it! Waking up in that incredible location, looking out over the Exe Estuary... it must be magical. The views are breathtaking, and the whole area is teeming with wildlife. It honestly felt like watching a nature documentary with all the birds – apparently, thousands visit the estuary! And the sunsets? I can only imagine how amazing they must be from there. Yes, you can only get here by foot, bike, or boat, but that's part of its unique charm – it feels like a real escape, so peaceful and special. We will definitely be back, and next time we're booking a room! Highly, highly recommend The Turf for food, service, and those absolutely stunning estuary views. A true gem!

This pub ooks a lot better on the inside than the outside. It has a good bar which is well served and has an extensive and quality selection of drinks, and usually at lesst 1 quality real ale. Friendly, speedy service and a pleasant laid-back atmosphere.

Cafe is not as good as it used to be. They have made the menu a lot smaller. Service from the staff is great apart from the what looks to be the owner, who seems very miserable and not very welcoming. Sausages have changed and are not nice and I could see others in the cafe leaving there’s as I did mine. Poached eggs perfectly cooked however clearly lots of vinegar in the water and was not drained before putting onto toast, toast was sopping wet and tasted like vinegar.

We ate in the restaurant on the 5 nights it opens- Tuesday to Saturday. There is a good choice of food starters, mains & desserts all freshly prepared and nicely served by friendly staff. We enjiyed all the items we had & the wine was good too. You can also visit the Hat & Lemon bar for drinks and cocktails.

Dropped in for a cappuccino whilst on a walk in Exmouth on a very windy day. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. Cappuccino was nice with good strength coffee bean.

Great traditional style pub serving good range of food and drinks. Nice lively atmosphere Cheerful and hard working staff Dogs allowed .

Enjoyed a very nice Sunday lunch with a good range of choices for everyone. It is always nice when an establishment allows well behaved dogs in especially when you are on holiday. Would have liked to have popped back in the evening for some live music as the place has a warm atmosphere.
