The best restaurants serving British food in Bath and North East Somerset South West

Dinner for 2 on a Saturday night. The restaurant was very busy (nice atmosphere, though sometimes hard to hear each other speak). Excellent service, especially from the 2 senior female servers (instant eye contact when we wanted an extra glass of wine and then the bill). Haddock Croquettes & Goats Cheese starters. Hake & Sea Bream mains (the Sea Bream sauce was delicious). Tiramisu pudding. There aren't any original or surprising dishes on the menu, but the food is very well cooked and presented. All in all its what you'd expect from a good brasserie restaurant. I'm pleased that a family run restaurant like this can thrive & survive in Bath. My only negative... Woods should be more imaginative with the vegegarian option. I might have chosen it when I visited, but I wasn't interested in a vegetable curry.

This is a lovely restaurant for high quality dining. The menu is short but everything is fresh and cooked to perfection. The restaurant manager was the most attentive waiter ever! Our napkins were refolded and our glasses were refilled. Our group were all delighted with our dinners and had a wonderful evening.

Great food and service, but in the cold months you are sat far away from the log fire and access to bathroom was through group of loud locals.

The most amazing food in such a friendly environment! Would definitely recommend to anyone who is travelling to the West Country to stop here en route. The welcome was warm and the hospitality was amazing

Horrible experience. We arrived at 5.45 with only one family present to be told all the tables in front of us had been booked but we could sit in the back. Our drinks and dinner order were taken politely but we sat waiting for some considerable time for our dessert order to be taken so we decided to pay and go. At this point we were told that there were so many walk ins (ie NOT bookings) that they were too busy. Most tables at the front were still empty. It soon became evident we were deliberately put in the back away from other guests no apology for just leaving us waiting whilst other people were attended to. Was it because my husband had smart shorts on or the fact we were visitors to the area. We will not be returning to this place to eat and it does not make us feel unwelcome to the area.

Went for Sunday lunch, Lovely old pub with very friendly staff. Sunday lunches were great quality and plenty of it. Dog Friendly with a very nice outside eating area. The lunch could have just done with being a bit warmer but would go back again.

Quizás voluntarios no pagados, pero una sonrisa y un agradecimiento no cuestan nada. Qué personal tan miserable y una experiencia miserable en lo que por lo demás es una hermosa tienda y cafetería. Qué pena.

Disfrutamos de un par de horas agradables en el jardín aquí , comiendo té de la tarde , los bocadillos eran promedio pero los pasteles eran excelentes . El servicio podría haber sido mejor. No nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos al principio, detecté un ligero aire de esnobismo de la camarera, pero ella parecía calentarse con nosotros y ser más amable una vez que habíamos pedido nuestra comida. Era un hermoso día soleado y el jardín era precioso, es un lugar muy agradable para sentarse y disfrutar del té de la tarde.

Nuestra primera visita a Bath y reservamos un té por la tarde en Montagu's Mews. Recibimos un servicio excepcional toda la tarde y la calidad de la comida y la selección de té era excepcional. No dudaría en recomendar una visita.

La comida era muy sabrosa, pero pedimos una cerveza y era plana, así que nos quejamos y pedimos otra. Nos cobraron por la cerveza rancia, que era muy mal servicio.

This is a quirky boutique hotel. The room has interesting decor with a touch of 70 retro feel, including a working vinyl record player (they provided a few rock and roll records from the 70s). Also a nice touch is a complimentary snack bar with cookies and ice creams. One draw back is our room is at street level. You do hear car and pedestrian noise from time to time

Haven't eaten here yet. Excellent selection of wines with knowledgeable staff. Recommended.

Cena familiar más numerosa Era una cena familiar de cumpleaños especial para alrededor de 19 comensales, la mesa larga estaba muy bien dispuesta, y fuimos recibidos por el personal de bienvenida sonriente. Rápidamente nos ofrecieron y servimos nuestras bebidas, y luego se tomaron pedidos de las comidas principales, agua de cortesía estaba en la mesa y con copas de vino muy agradables, todos nos sirvieron muy rápido teniendo en cuenta cuántos comensales había, tuve sopa del día que era alcachofa, era muy sabroso y lleno, seguido por el asado de cerdo en delicioso puré con encantador crujido y verduras frescas, no podía manejar un dulce. fue una comida realmente genial, servido muy bien en un gran ambiente y personal amable agradable. Recomiendo The King William por muchas razones y volveré pronto.

5 Estrellas debido al 'Camarero'? que nos atendió fuera (en la 1 calle o 2a visita) , siendo un 'políglota' (9 idiomas fluidos) , Y dando Excelente Servicio. Haber visitado por lo menos DOS VECES (Tanto mi cumpleaños y mi cumpleaños de hermanas menores (sentado en interiores - noviembre) , y cumpleaños de mamás (sentado al aire libre - abril). No puedo recordar el año real - Mamá falleció en diciembre de 2022 , por lo que fue ANTES de esa fecha en ambas ocasiones. MEJOR COMIDA DE CALIDAD QUE HE TENIDO, también el mejor servicio de la historia. "Muy caro", pero la comida es tan buena que iría allí mucho más si pudiera permitírmelo. Tan impresionado estaba por el camarero 'políglota', que me inspiró a aprender 'más idiomas', ahora 'sé' un poco de cada uno, de entre 50 - 74 idiomas, de todo el mundo de 6 continentes, y de lugares que nunca visitaré debido a la falta de tiempo, dinero y nivel de aptitud física de salud (ahora más de 60 años y parcialmente discapacitado en este punto en 2025).
