Tutto al di sopra delle nostre aspettative. Ottima la carta vini, anche se da italiano e operatore del settore enoico, mi ha deluso la proposta di vini italiani.

Came for a Birthday Dinner on Wednesday 5th February with partner & son. This is a special Bath Restaurant....to be experienced for sure ! Gorgeous food, Cocktails & Wines. Looked after very well by the delightful Yaz & Charlotte !. The Beckford Group... you re doing a great job !!!

We had lunch here yesterday (Sunday) and it was splendid. We ate quite late, so they had run out of bread. The only slip… Complimentary bowls of soup followed to atone for the lack of bread. Then delicious roast beef (with very many - all very tasty - trimmings) and lovely puddings to follow. Special mention for the potatoes, utterly delicious, and the excellent cocktails. The service was great and we will definitely be back when we return to Bath.

In short: delicious, wholesome, beautifully plated, and excellently catered! If you permit me to ramble....The best roast has long been debated and because many have the same elements, it makes it all the more difficult - but none except the Beckford Canteen have a William! William went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect! He was attentive and kind and charming and honestly we easily agreed he was the best host either of us have ever had! His attention to detail was second to none. He made the whole experience golden and we have both decided to return not only for the food, but just to visit him. The food tastes fresh and light even though you'll have to be rolled out. The acoustics are surprisingly quiet even though it's packed to the gills, and the chefs take such care in each dish it really shines through. If there was ever any doubt as to the best Sunday Roast spot in Bath (read, The World) then this is your sign. Thank you William and team!

First visit. Nice ambience in a small, cosy restaurant. Starters excellent. Limited choice of mains - but good. Excellent desserts - crème caramel in particular. Missing ingredient was a warmth to the service. Efficient, but absent was any real engagement. I assume it was the manager who took my cash - even the robotic “everything ok with the meal” was absent. There is obviously some care taken in preparing the menu, engaging with the customers about that doesn’t take much but would elevate the whole experience.

Tucked away in a quiet central street in Bath. Great atmosphere, excellent food and wine and attentive and friendly staff. Definitely visit again.

Amazing restaurant style roast cannot fault. Everything cooked and presented to an extremely high standard, the confit (actually are confit unlike most places that claim) the pork was perfection 👌. Also the music/playlist was super 90’s/00’s classics. Great work all the team behind Beckford

One of my all time favourite roasts in Bath! Everything is so rich and cooked perfectly. The confit potatoes are to die for!!!

Went for Sunday Lunch Atmosphere very homely and intimate. A lot bigger on the inside than looking through the window. Front of house staff very pleasant, taking coats etc. Now I would have had a starter, but neither of the (only) 2 choices spoke to me. Whilst I understand that on a Sunday, a smaller menu than normal is provided, I would have expected two or three additional options; Smoked Salmon and prawns, pâté Anyway, decided instead to have the bread for two. I must say, very good sourdough. The correct amount of tang, and the perfect fluffy innards. I would have liked a bit more than two pieces - though I suppose it was more appetiser. If I had had a starter, my opinion would be different. The roast was nothing short of incredible in each element, which I will now detail. Roast Pork: A tantalising U shape of pork flesh and fat. Those who like crackling will swoon at the outer ring of crunch and flavour. Some could say it is too fatty, to that I say - order the chicken instead. Silver Dollar Potatoes: Thin layers of starch bliss. These melt in your mouth sudo roasties were incredibly moreish, and surprisingly quite light! This is because they don’t contain a cream element (unlike a fan favourite of mine, the dauphinois) Veg: A tad sparten on veg. I understand it’s for impact but I could have done with more carrots. Cauliflower cheese: Rich cheesey goodness. Tasted just as it should, and free from over cooked blotches some cauliflower cheese gets.Flurettes were perfect bite sized pieces Yorkshire Pudding: Big buttery brown beauty. Extra Gravy: Always appreciated. Overall an excellent experience, and well worth the money. I will be back.

We chose Beckford Canteen from a post on Reddit, and we're so happy we trusted the recommendation. We had a delicious Jerusalem artichoke soup and the perfect Sunday roasts. A special mention to the thousand layer potatoes and the cauliflower cheese sides. The atmosphere is simple, cosy and full of light, the service is impeccable yet warm and welcoming. We couldn't recommend this place more!

One of my favourite fine dining spots in Bath. The food is incredible, particularly the roast. I also like that the menu changes seasonally. The service is immaculate and the team are really friendly.

Hands down the BEST roast in Bath! Finally returned to Beckford Canteen to devour their stunning Sunday Roast. Just as good as I remembered it with impeccable food and superb service. I had the roast pork belly served with greens, cauliflower cheese, confit potato & a Yorkshire pudding. The potatoes are a real showstopper - so light and crispy, a pure delight. Definitely a top spot in beautiful Bath and worth a visit if you want to celebrate a special occasion.

The food is of good quality, with all dishes being both tasty and creatively prepared. The ambience is lovely, and the service is friendly. I highly recommend it.

Coming for the Sunday roast, we tested the three meat options: chicken, pork and beef. The three versions were all accompanied by cabbage, carrots and other vegetables as well as crispy and tender potatoes at the same time. This meal was excellent. We had the crumble of the day for dessert as well as the crème caramel and pear ice cream. Everything was delicious. We will definitely come back. This restaurant may even become our favorite in Bath!

We just popped in for glass of wine but the whole experience was relaxed and enjoyable. Amazing wine selection and staff were super helpful!

Came for dinner with my Father on the recommendation of a friend. Everything was absolutely superb, though the Loin of Venison with Celeriac puree main course was a particular highlight. Highly recommended!

Nuestra segunda visita, última aquí en noviembre pasado y estábamos ansiosos por volver. El restaurante tiene un ambiente encantador y el personal es amable y atento. Tuvimos una preciosa mandarina margarita (todavía prefieren el original! ) y luego un poco de buena comida. Sentimos el entrante, paté de caballa ahumada con un bollo de queso salió un poco demasiado rápido y estaba demasiado frío. El resto de la comida era de primera categoría sin embargo. ¡Mis maridos venado fue una de las mejores comidas que ha tenido! Mi pasta era reconfortante y sabrosa y las coles de Bruselas con castañas absolutamente preciosas. Los postres y luego una astilla de queso con las mejores galletas acaban de terminar la comida a la perfección. No puedo esperar a visitar de nuevo.

Went for Sunday roast as place recommended. One of the nicest roast dinners. Service excellent, food arrives promptly after ordering. Meal itself very delicious and plenty of food. Also dog friendly which is good considering high end restaurant in Bath.

Excellent place to go! For wine we had Asyrtiko Malagouzia which was fantastic. Food: We had the Jerusalem soup and the mackerel pate for starters: delicious. For mains we had venison, it was cooked to perfection with mash and sprout with chestnuts as sides (superb). For dessert we had the apple tart (divine) and chocolate mousse with cardamom very interesting. We are definitely going back 😀 Service was excellent and the atmosphere very spacious and mellow! One of the best places in Bath!

Quality place for lunch, including both good food and good service (both of which have been in meger supply during this trip). Would absolutely repeat if I lived close by, as our host for lunch had (they chose the place...second visit for them)

Almorzamos el domingo aquí el 22 de septiembre. La sopa de calabaza de cebolla era excelente, gran profundidad de sabor, hermosa consistencia cremosa suave, crujientes crujientes increíbles. El plato principal fue sobresaliente por el cuidado y la pura artesanía de cada elemento. Las verduras en particular estaban tan perfectamente preparadas y deliciosas, que me dio vergüenza -nunca había probado una col rizada tan deliciosa, una zanahoria asada tan espléndida, un queso de coliflor tan delicioso, y en cuanto a las papas asadas- se puede ver en la fotografía un plato de pequeños ladrillos marrones. Estos eran los asados; primero habían sido cortados en rodajas finas y cocinados a una suavidad untuosa pero sin ir a la papilla, luego tallados en ladrillos y asados a un espléndido sabor crujiente - cuando mordisqueas en ellos la crujiente da paso al interior suave - hermoso. Gravy también excelente - creo que hemos superado tres de esas pequeñas jarras. Carne magnífica, una gran losa de carne rara perfecta. La única desventaja era que estábamos demasiado llenos para comer cualquier pudín! Sin duda volveremos una y otra vez.

We managed to get counter seats on a random Sunday afternoon for what was undoubtedly the best Sunday roast I've ever had. The food was excellent and I'm sure it will become a culinary mainstay in Bath.

We had an amazing dinner! We tasted almost every dish in the menu and everything was just perfect, including desserts and wine. Excellent service and the atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice. One of our favorite restaurants from our two weeks trip, we recommend this place.

Went for Sunday roast and I can confidently say that it’s one of the best roast beef’s I’ve ever had, and I’ve tried a few. Would travel over from London just for this meal. The service is also faultless. We sat outside in the garden which was a nice touch.

Simply the best meal we had on our recent visit to the UK, beating out several Michelin stars. From the fresh raspberry gin fizz, to the perfected Sunday roast, to the fresh elderflowers on the dessert, every detail was perfect and presented with warm and attentive service. Please don’t miss!!

When food looks this good you can't fail to enjoy

We are great fans of the Beckford Bottle Shop, so it was a leap to go to the Beckford Canteen instead on our recent visit to Bath. What a great experience - the ajo blanco is truly the most exquisite dish I have eaten in 2024!

Had a delicious lunch here to celebrate husbands birthday . I hadn’t mentioned this when booking but it was picked up by staff .. and to our surprise William brought out a lovely mini cake complete with candle .. what a treat 🎈 Lovely staff .. lovely atmosphere and good food .. what more can you ask ! Thank you 🌻

A wonderful evening was spent here when visiting Bath, over the course of our visit we went to a number of restaurants and this is by far the best. Food was exceptional, great ingredients and flavour combinations. Service was warm, attentive and knowledgeable from the wait team and management. Will definitely be back if ever in Bath again!

We had yet another great dinner in the Beckford Canteen. There was definitely a Friday night buzz happening in the restaurant and the service was brilliant. We had a great table near the bar (It's a small place but they have made it so comfortable) which gave me a great view 'behind the scenes' which was great to see them working as a team. The menu is seasonal with plenty of options for me as a meat eater and my Pescatarian guest. All of the food looked beautiful and tasted delicious. The accompanying 2 bottles of own brand Rosé from their nearby Beckford Bottle Shop were perfect accompannemnt, and half the price of a Whispering Angel in some other Bath restaurants. We celebrated a special evening at the Canteen and now place it firmly on our list of Favourite Bath eats.

First time there and we will definitely come back. The food was amazing! They had a very nice greek white wine (Apla) that we enjoyed with our lunch. Of course we had to try the desserts and we enjoyed them too. The manager was very friendly and treated us to liquer shot.

What an amazing eating experience. The chefs and waitering staff do a faultless job here. Where do I start. Firstly the roast, I went for a pork belly roast. This was cooked perfectly, the pork was nice and tender and the crackling was nice and crunchy. Seasoned well. The veg which consisted of cabbage and carrots were delicious. Yorkshire pudding and cauli cheese was tasty. Special mention of the week goes to the confit roast potatoes which were plentiful, crispy and very tasty. Also the gravy which made everything taste so much better was nice and thick. Definitely recommend this place.

The best Sunday Roast I’ve probably ever had. Staff and service were also great. Will definitely be going back as soon as I can.

The service was lovely: the waitress helped to explain the menu, recommended some dishes, and even provided me with the wifi password to help with my browsing. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed, and I never felt rushed. The food was worth the wait, beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. I ordered the trout and the cod - both were light and fresh. The trout had a perfect combination of flavours. Although the cod was on the saltier side, the slightly sweet and savoury carrot sauce helped to balance it out. Thank you for the wonderful lunch!

It’s a lovely venue, but for an Easter Sunday booking the vegetarian option had no gravy. Net result a very dry and expensive roast. Was only told when the food was served. Have had better experience before, but this was meant to be a special lunch so a bit disappointed.

Beckford Canteen was visually amazing with outstanding customer service. We drank so much water thanks to the number of times our water jug was refilled. We ordered the veal, pasta, pork belly and potatoes on the side. Mine was the pork belly which had some good crispy skin but was let down by the blandness of the meat and conjealed fat layer. I did also try the pasta which I thought was fabulous. The smooth pumpkin sauce had a hint of bitterness. If dark was a flavour it would be that. Veal was fine. The potatoes were another highlight, they were layered confit slices that were then fried. Overall, we had a good time but were still hungry afterwards.

Even though I don't usually dine alone, this place made it a breeze! They have a counter with stools, perfect for solo diners like me. The waitress, though I didn't catch her name, eat at 2pm today, was fantastic. So friendly and attentive, she really put me at ease. I even asked for her recommendations, and everything she suggested was absolutely delicious. I felt so comfortable, I'll definitely be bringing my family next time for the great food and welcoming atmosphere!

A true dining experience from the moment we walked in. The staff and atmosphere were friendly and attentive. They were very knowledgeable about the menus and explained everything clearly. Always smiling! The food was extraordinary; the best pork we have ever tasted. Which will have the unfortunate effect of setting the bar impossibly high that we may never be able to eat pork anywhere else. As such we will be back for more. Our post dinner tea was delightful and served in some beautiful silverware. A wonderful experience to have with my mother. Thank you!

A great new restaurant for Bath. A limited menu, but everything was full of flavour and well presented. The waiting staff were excellent, attentive without being intrusive, and well informed about the details of the menu. Excellent value for the quality of the cooking.

I was gifted a voucher as I had previously been to the bottle shop and had a nice experience, so came for a date/birthday day with my boyfriend and it was absolutely phenomenal. We weren’t sure what to expect, but honestly there was not one complaint/issue/thing to be improved! The food was tasty, beautifully presented and came out quickly, the service was wonderful and we felt so looked after. A special thank you to Ash - you were so lovely and genuinely really great throughout the whole service, totally rounded the whole experience off and made us welcome (the wine was so so good, you were completely right!!). Already recommended to people and 100% we will be coming back. Thank you!!

It is rare to have a dining experience where you couldn't fault a single aspect of the experience. On a weekend break to Bath we picked Beckford Canteen based on its strong Google reviews and luckily got a 7pm slot on the Saturday having booked it in the morning. And boy was I glad that we'd got a table. Lovely open room with not too many covers meaning you get great service from the lovely waiting team. Fantastic appetisers and main course paired with a lovely cocktail and glass of red wine. Would come back in a heartbeat!

Wow wow wow. Best Sunday lunch I think I’ve ever had. Panisse with trout row was so moreish. Then roast beef with all the trimmings. Each element was perfect. Ans dessert also delicious. Staff are warm and good at what they do. We loved it.

The food was superb and the friendly service was just right, little touches like water being topped up and the wine and the friendly and quick service and wanting to talk through the menu which was a delight. We had beetroot for starters which was so pretty and I had the ravioli we both went for the potatoes and veg to share washed down with a bottle of rose and followed this with petit fours and coffees. Divine and very enjoyable. Will be back.

Superb late Sunday lunch after a lovely mooch around Bath. Great service from Eva. Within our group we had the beef, pork and chicken. All were excellent and the roast potatoes were to die for. The rhubarb pud was also very tasty. Not cheap but you get what you pay for and we felt it was worth it for sure.

Exceptional food and service. Took our 1 year old here for dinner on Valentine's day. Unorthodox, sure. But they couldn't have been more accomodating and even borrowed a high-chair from a restaurant next door. Of course, they'll still be cleaning food off the walls, but that's standard. Only joking - she was as good as gold.
