Hudsons in Bath and North East Somerset

A fantastic meal! It is NOT CHEAP, with a £288 bill for four people, but the steaks really are perfect. A delicious starter, too.

Visited tonight, Saturday with my wife, fantastic place, food service and staff couldn’t be faulted. Very attentive and a great atmosphere. We will be visiting again soon

If want a good steak this is the place

I would expect an award-winning restaurant to stock an award-winning drink, so that was the only issue. Food was fantastic, as always: I had a wonderful birthday supper! Thank you.

This place is quite simply SUPERB. If you haven’t been & thinking about going, do it! Lovely setting, atmosphere & staff. Oh did I almost forget to mention the menu, just perfect in every way. THANK YOU, we will be back.

Food: 10/10 Venue: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Price: 7/10 Ordered the king prawns with calamari in spicy sauce. Absolutely great, set the meal off brilliantly. Extremely fresh, crisp batter, large prawns overall impressive. The fillet steak was cooked perfectly and very tender and delicious. The garlic butter was a must try, amazing. The service was very fast and friendly. Overall a great experience, would highly recommend. Slightly on the pricey side, about £57 per person for a meal, glass of wine and half a starter so definitely a special occasion but very high quality and worth the price.

Really nice food! Well cooked, with a slightly old fashioned presentation. Service was great for the most part with the two members of the team looking after us providing excellent freindly banter. Our server also makes a mean caipirinha! The bartender was a tad unprofessional, and was heard using some pretty coarse language as we ate. Overall it was good, but felt very expensive - I would expect something more special at this price point. There are better choices for steak in Bath, especially independently run. You could also do much worse!

the service lovely, the person waiting my table brought me a copy of the menu with everything that I could eat (allergies) marked clearly which was very reassuring and helpful. the food was delicious too

Loved our experience! The staff were so friendly & my stead medallions were just delicious! (I think you should bring back the breadsticks with the delicious dip) But apart from that , this steak house never disappoints!

Hudson"s reputation is well earned. I've been 4 times and, although I'm not really a foody, this place is worth the money for a treat. Everything is spot on tasty.

The Hudson is still one of my favourites. Great food especially the steaks. Great choice of beer,wine, spirits and cocktails. If you are looking for a special place to celebrate then this is it. The staff and service were second to non and no service charge on the bill leaving you to decide how much you wish to tip.

Very expensive, not sure what all the hype is about.....£50 for a steak with the extras, staff friendly. Wouldn't return

Great food , atmosphere and staff

I love steak and when I asked for places to eat during our two night stay in Bath, this restaurant was recommended by the concierge of our hotel and I am glad they did. I booked online - which was dead simple although it was midweek and probably a bit quieter. When we arrived we were seated immediately, we didn't have starters and went straight for the main course. I had a 10oz fillet which was cooked perfectly and was wonderfully tender, the peppercorn sauce was also spot on. Would I say it's the best steak I have ever eaten? Maybe not, but it's definitely in the top 5. We shared a lemon panna cotta for dessert and this was also excellent, Bellissima!! I would absolutely book here again if we're in Bath and I would absolutely recommend the place to anyone else in the area. 5 stars

My family have been multiple times & spoken highly of Hudson's. I decided to take them & my partner. First of all the price's are high but the food was lovely and the setting was different to your franchise chains, the steak was cooked to perfection and the blue cheese sauce and truffle fries were amazing, Sticky toffee pudding best I had too.

Non chain restaurant and the best steak around for miles. Service is always 100% staff friendly and welcoming. Mouthwatering steak. If you get opportunity to go here you won't be disappointed

I've been coming here for nearly 20 year's nothing comes close if you want a steak. Order any steak, red wine Jus and parmesan truffle fries. 👊

We visited yesterday evening for my wife’s birthday as a group of 6. The food was absolutely phenomenal! I had the 10oz fillet steak which was out of this world and the taste was just pure awesomeness! Sides were more than enough and a great portion size. Service was also fantastic and faultless! I would highly recommend 5*

The steaks were delicious, cooked perfectly and with maximum flavour! I do wish chunky chips were an option for the sides, rather than just fries (not that there's anything wrong with fries and they were tasty, I just prefer chunkier chips with steak). The desserts were nice, but nothing special and I felt a little underwhelmed by the offerings. The selection was what you might find at any chain restaurant and I was hoping for desserts with that extra "flair" or "sparkle". But the restaurant was lovely, with a calm, relaxed atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and attentive, without being overly in your face. For an excellent steak, I would highly recommend the Hudson Steakhouse.

They have charged my card £40 for a reservation, even though they have confirmed the cancellation of our booking. Poor customer service, I have tried calling them and left them a message, but no one responded.

Four of us visited on recommendation yesterday and weren’t disappointed. The steaks were cooked to perfection, the service was exemplary and the desserts all delicious.

Went for the early bird special which was very well priced. The steak was surprising good sized, well cooked and couldn't fault. Barman does good cocktails too 😁

Amazing food! Amazing service! Staff couldn't do enough! We had the special £23 for steak chips salad and a glass of wine!! So didn't expect as good as we received! The steak was perfection! Also Very good price! The dessert was probably the best cheesecake I have ever eaten! Food portions all perfect, desserts are huge! We both couldn't finish but didn't want to leave them behind because it was just so good! They accommodated us with packaging the leftover cheesecake!! Will definitely be returning! We were visiting Bath from Brighton and we went to Hudson on recommendation by our Uber driver, and it didn't disappoint! We sat at the bar with a glass ofvwine to start, the barman was so friendly and helpful and we both instantly relaxed into the evening. We didn't buy a cocktail, as we'd had a heavy night the night before, but they looked insane, and were given some to try when they were being made. The restaurant staff were just as welcoming and friendly. We chose 6oz fillet steak with truffle and Parmesan chips, a side of rocket and Parmesan salad and parfait, it was all incredible, the flavours were amazing, but we definitely over ordered. The steak was cooked to perfection. I had the chinchurri sauce and my friend had red wine jus, both were so tasty. The steak came with the tastiest bernaise sauce, so I think I'd stick with just thar next time. Everything was amazing and have absolutely no faults to add! We can't wait to go back again when we're next visiting!

Food was so unappealing. Service a bit strange. The waiter not interested in whether I enjoyed my meal only husbands opinion. Food presentation was not good . Potatoes gratin looked like a school dinner, all mashed up . No flavour. Atmosphere was zero. Left half my meal.

Before we had even eaten we were blown away by the hospitality of the whole team, who were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. The steaks (fillet and ribeye) were genuinely some of the best we have had. The sides were also great as was the pudding! We would come back to Bath just to visit Hudsons again.

Back to Hudson's again for a little celebratory meal with my partner. Fantastic service from start to finish. All of the staff were extremely friendly. We had Fillet steaks with Parmesan truffle fries and Gratin douphinoise. The steaks were cooked to perfection and I could even go as far as saying that it was the best steak I have ever had!! The fries and Gratin were the perfect accompaniment. For dessert we had sticky toffee pudding and Belgian waffles. The sticky toffee was to die but the waffles were just ok. Nothing wrong with them they were just waffles with sauce. Overall another amazing trip to Hudson's and the best steaks we have ever eaten!! Well worth the money and we will most definitely be back!!

This is a really nice restaurant and pub in Bath, they serve great steaks and burgers, bit pricey but worth it.

Perfect steak. Small menu but that means what they sell and cook is very excellent Tempura prawn & calamari starter was very good. Wine list complemented a steak dinner with plenty of 'big' reds. Cocktails also good and reasonably priced.

Our 1st time at the Hudson and definitely not are last.the ribeye steak is mouthwatering and although we think they forgot our desserts the service was excellent. Really enjoyable evening

A bit far away from the centre of the city but definitely worth the extra mile. The burger was excelent but also the ribai.

Superb everything. I've eaten here numerous times over many years, it never fails to deliver. Wouldn't recommend to vegetarians, this place is meat eaters heaven.

Absolutely lovely spot, food was fantastic, service was friendly. Tables arent crowded next to each other so you can hear yourself. They don't force service charge on receipt. I gave mine in cash because they absolutely deserved it. I highly recommend for a date night!

We love the Hudson. We visit here regularly for special occasions. As well as making some up, just to get that Flat Iron steak in the early special. Please don't mess with the tomato salad, it's perfect just like that

Lovely tasty steaks, including the burgers. A bit pricey, and when ordering a steak, remember you need to add the sides, fries etc, and they need to be payed separately, which I found a bit surprising, as I have never needed to add extra to a already pricey steak. However, as mentioned, a nice place and tasty food.

Great evening if I could suggest that the two tables ground floor around corner at back bench style seats.Awkward looking at people eating on the opposite table . Just felt weird

this places can be improve. staff are nice but the service was so so. I ordered a rib eye stake and asked for it to be cooked miduim well but it was over cooked. filet stake was perfect. slalad came late with the rest of the food. the fries was not that good.

Wow, oh wow! My favourite restaurant in the UK and a pleasure to drive 200 miles to eat there. Staff are amazing and food is out of this world. Anyone who goes there will be so glad they did.

We went there on a Friday evening and were seated at a table on the 1st floor. Pros: - Excellent staff and service level. Very responsive, attentive and quick. - I ordered their rib eye (medium rare). There is a good amount of marbling, and the meat is tender and juicy. - The truffle fries were a nice touch. - Generally beautiful building and smart casual vibe. Cons: - There wasn't a dessert that we found appealing. - The surf and turf option is expensive for what it is. Overall rating: 4.5/5.

Probably the best steak we’ve ever had. All staff were excellent, from the barman making great cocktails to the lovely waitress. Would definitely recommend if you’re in Bath (ps park in Morrisons and walk 10 mins to avoid the clean air car levy).

Decent steak and nice atmosphere. Had the Tbone marbled but was a little bit chewy for me would have the filet next time which a friend had and said was superb.

Booked this restaurant at the very last minute for 13 people as we were let down by a private catering company half an hour before my Mothers 80th birthday celebration dinner! Hudson saved the day- the service was exemplary , the food delicious . Our steaks were top quality, perfectly cooked and the truffle fries were divine. Thank you Hudson Steakhouse!

We've been twice now. First time for steak and the second time for burgers. Delicious steak and probably the best in Bath. The burgers were exceptional. Don't miss the Glazed Citrus Tart!!! Excellent.

Great food... really good food. Beautifully cooked steaks and fish. Lovely flavour in the chips and nice sides. Couldn't fault it. However... the atmosphere wasn't great.... the staff were lovely and worked hard for us, but it felt a little like a canteen. Music was quiet, even when we asked to turn it up, and it didn't feel intimate or have a vibe. Shame considering such a great restaurant. That said, I wouldn't hesitate to go back and also recommend it very much if you're in Bath.

Had an excellent meal early on a Saturday night. From first arrival to departure the staff were friendly and efficient. We sat at the bar for a quick drink before moving to our table, and had three delicious, perfectly cooked, steaks. The truffle fries are very morish. An excellent recommendation of wine from one of the waiters was a nice surprise. Its not cheap, but for an occasion is worth it.

Everything was simply perfect. From the warm, friendly welcome to the efficient but relaxed service. The steaks were devine and cooked to perfection, finished off by wonderful deserts. Great also for people who are gluten free.

Food was first class. My husband had a tasty fillet steak which was cooked to perfection. He said it was the best steak he'd had. I had grilled sea bass fillets, a really good portion, also cooked beautifully. We first visited Hudsons 15 years ago, and it's still as good today as it was back then. The waiter was very rude. The food was reasonable. As a place that defines itself as a steakhouse, we expected a quality steak and received a dry and tough steak. The total prices they charged were high for a restaurant of this size.

Food is great, the only thing that me and my wife didn’t like at all is the waitress that didn’t inform us about the optional service charge included in the bill and toilets were not that clean …..lack of transparency unfortunately compromised the rating.

Went for our anniversary and as we approached, we could smell the lovely flame grill. The building is beautiful, sophistication paired with traditional which is very true to Bath on a whole. Was sat behind the door downstairs which was a bit disappointing as we didn’t really have a view and got the draft of people coming in and out. Would have been good to have a nicer table for our wedding anniversary. The wine selection was really great and the one recommended for my choice of steak was lovely. The steak was beautiful and most definitely the star of the show. Not the very very best I’ve had but up there with some I’ve paid A LOT more from. Perfectly cooked with a subtle flame grill flavour. Thoroughly enjoyed, I’ll definitely return!

This is easily the best steak restaurant in Bath. I recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. It's a little on the pricey side but worth it. I've found that the fries and other side dishes are generously portioned and easily shared between two.

Nice venue, very good steaks and the truffle mash is pretty special. I would recommend.
