"Twill be a hard way to hit" so says Gobbo in Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice and similarly you may find the approach to Comyn Farm equally adventurous. Road works may have made our journey a little more tortuous too. We were there for a Mother's Day luncheon and clearly the venue is popular as we had to accept a second sitting at 3.00pm. No matter since British Summer Time had just clicked in and our body-clocks were an hour out anyway. Doggies are welcome at the venue and they seemed unphased by our large, boisterous German Shepherd teenager. We were welcomed in a friendly manner, sat down promptly, given a drink and read the menu. There's an reasonable choice of starters, roasted mains included beef, pork and chicken and homemade sweets for those able to manage one! There's certainly no skimping on portions and if you feel the need for more of anything - the staff are very obliging. The team clearly get on well together and this comes over in the informal, but entirely adequate level of service. It was a nice sunny day which helped our visit and we were able to sit out at a picnic table in the adjoining paddock to finish off with wine, teas and coffees. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon at the Farm and came away replete and very relaxed.

We got a warm, easy welcome from Caroline which made us feel immediately at home in their beautiful B&B. To call it a B&B though doesn’t do it justice. The room was very cosy and basically faultless. We spent the most gorgeous evening sat by the wood burner that had been lit for us downstairs ready for our complimentary tea and homemade (beyond delicious) scone and tart on arrival. Breakfast was another treat, consisting of very good attention and the most amazing ethically sourced produce. Caroline and Nigel have developed a very special place and we will definitely be return customers.

One of our favourite local cafes. We love to walk over from Jennycliff and stop for a coffee and sometimes lunch. The food is always amazing and the staff are always super friendly and welcoming - even when rushed off their feet. Pleasing vegan options. Great to sit outside when the weather is nice but also lovely in the winter inside.

Lovely cafe with really hearty, delicious main meals. Good coffee as well. Very friendly staff and quick service. It’s also dog friendly, which is a plus!

The best breakfast in Bournemouth! The food is always 10/10, everything that I have tried on the menu has been amazing with my favourite being the big breakfast. The staff are always very welcoming and even though the cafe can sometimes be busy (normally on a Saturday), you will never wait long for your meal . Couldn’t recommend enough!

All I can say is WOW. A journey through delicious sustainable food all cooked by 1 chef in an open kitchen in this small but perfectly formed restaurant. We opted for the wine flight to accompany the menu and it was delicious and reasonably priced for the quality of the wine. All of the courses were incredibly tasty and excellently cooked and every time we thought we had a favourite another dish would come along. Every course was explained to us by the wonderful servers, who were really friendly and knowledgeable, creating a lovely relaxed atmosphere. It was also great to get to chat with the chef, who clearly is extremely talented. It’s safe to say we had an unforgettable experience. We have eaten in 1,2,and 3 star restaurants and this meal was exceptional. Well deserving of a green star for sustainability but also in our opinion deserving of a Michelin star as well. We holiday in porthleven several times a year and Culture will now be on our regular restaurant list every time we are here!

We are in North Devon for a week long break and by chance it is also our second wedding anniversary so wanted to celebrate somewhere close to our holiday home. We found Pattard’s after some research and we are so pleased that we did. We have had the most excellent, high quality meal. It was absolutely delicious and such a lovely location. We would not hesitate to return if we were ever in the vicinity again.

After much cajoling and bribery involving a bacon roll , I convinced my older wife we should head out on the coastal path. She is not a big fan of such endeavours with knees that have befuddled the finest NHS consultants. But after much moaning, groaning and gnashing of false teeth we made it to this farming idyll. Lovely cake and cans of pop assuaged her whining. We set back off recharged and although we stopped constantly for clothing alterations and nose blowing (honk honk ) we returned to the streets of salcombe in triumph. I would encourage all of you with older partners to push them (not literally) to test themselves and rage against ageing. We are the proof it works and now she has earned her tea which I will pay for .

After a very disappointing visit to Pendennis Castle where we planned to have lunch, we called in here on the way back to our accommodation. We where greeted by the very friendly owners and had a very enjoyable and large Jacket Potato with a large and scrumptious salad. This family owned and run business, was a pleasure to stop for lunch, with a wide range of homemade cakes and savouries. Highly recommended to all who are visiting this part of Cornwall Thank you Nina and family.

Superb plant based cafe in Mousehole. Amazing range of food and drinks. Good portions and delicious food. I had the sausage and cheese sandwich and shared it with my kids loaded fries. Lovely spot too. Nice indoors and outdoor seating options. There were 8 of us and service was good and all were happy! Even the non vegans among us! Thank you!
