Staying on the Tregothnan estate we popped in for lunch: soup, sandwiches, clotted cream, scones and kea plum jam. All delicious; home made and served with charm and a smile. Such a find! Popped in again on the way back to Manchester to buy four more pots of their unique jam. It's made from plums which fall off the trees around the river Fal -supposedly a legacy from Portugese mariners centuries ago. Don't miss it.

This is a little gem. Staff and service are lovely. So nice to have a place that automatically brings an extra pot of hot water with your tea. I am a home baker and known for my cheese scones as well as cakes but their cheese scones are equal to mine (that's not being big headed but they are amazing, plenty of flavour and cheese). Gluten free bread available for sandwiches/mackerel pate etc. Other nice touches are they bring the salad dressing separately (hurrah! a place that doesn't automatically assume every loves it). My only suggestion is, perhaps, a different gluten free cake option would be welcomed by my hubby. Although point of note, they do offer gluten free sweet scones but we haven't tried those yet, that's for the next visit. Like it so much we divert there instead of going to the National Trust cafe when we go to Trelissick

Recommended as the place to go to when visiting nearby Trelissick Gardens. A 5 star experience run by friendly welcoming people. It was raining outside but in this place the sun seemed to glow! The food was delicious and beautifully presented -especially the variety in the salad accompanying the jacket potato I ordered . It was a highlight of our holiday .

So we were on our way home from a fabulous holiday but had been recommended Linden Hey by a National Trust employee (where we were staying). We swung past before heading off on a 6 hour return home. Boy are we glad we did! It was a little early for a Cream Tea (11am) but we shared a sandwich (Aga roasted ham) and then shared a cream tea. It was so gorgeous. The place is amazing, warm and beautiful with fairy lights, and tea pots and things of interest everywhere. The food was delicious. Fabulously light scones. I asked whether to put the cream or Jam on first and the owner told me their wifi code was “jamfirst”. Family run and obviously in their own home. What a wonderful job to have - I’m sure it gets busy, but it was lovely. They also couldn’t do enough for us. Beautiful delicate china also. It’s a definite must visit from me.

Just had The Drake and the Mrs Perryman. Both came with plenty of chips, the actual duck dishes were outstanding, really nice. We will be returning to try another dish when we return next year. We were lucky to have crispy skin as well. We spotted the sign for the duck Truck while we were driving to our cottage in Tintagel and decided to give it a go during our stay. We were not disappointed. Top local produce, by the farmer. Keep up the good work, we'll be back
