Trewithen Bistro & Wine Bar in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Another brilliant shopping experience with Suzette. She helped me find an outfit for a wedding, the perfect top to go with a sequin skirt and a lovely summer dress for every day. Wish I had a daughter to send to the prom as I would definitely buy a dress from there for her.

Sweet Magnolias is not a restaurant although there is a very good restaurant in the same building - Restormel Kitchen. Sweet Magnolias is a women's clothing boutique. There are a total of five rooms (four are upstairs) of lovely clothes, handbags, hats and lots and lots of jewellery. At this time there is a very limited amount of true vintage, most of the stock is new or nearly new. The personal service is second to none! Expect to have fun and leave with a smile.

Wonderful shop with a delightful American owner and colleague. Lots of lovely clothes and shoes and bits and bobs. This is so beautifully presented, as good as any shop in London.

A charming and adorable American lady with an obvious love of vintage fashion will guide you around this clothing treasure trove..... A must visit ❤️

What a gem of a shop. I had a truly wonderful shopping experience at Sweet Magnolias Vintage shop in Lostwithiel not least because of the lovely Suzette ...aka a Fairy Godmother! I cannot recommend highly enough. Very special. Looking forward to my next visit already!

We were made very welcome on a visit to this amazingly well stocked shop. The person serving gave us some great suggestions and helped to find items from their large stock. My wife was very pleased to buy a very nice designer handbag with a matching scarf.

Had such a super day out in rainy Cornwall with my lovely friend on her birthday. Whilst in Lostwithiel we went into a vintage clothes shop, Sweet Magnolias, and met the most exuberant woman I've ever met, the Southern Belle herself, Suzette. Born in Essex but raised in New Orleans, she swept us around the shop on somewhat of a personal shopping experience, matched jewellery to dresses and started an impromptu rendition of Pretty Woman which the customers in the shop joined in and sang along with, whilst my friend tried on a host of dresses she'd never usually wear. Suzette had weaved some kind of magic on us - we were under her spell. We left there feeling drunk on life, my friend with the most beautiful multicoloured floaty dress and a turquoise anklet gifted from Suzie for her birthday. Thank you Suzette for your spectacular company. We will most definitely be back soon for tea and cakes! C & C xx

I have just seen on the internet that this restaurant and its sister restaurant will permanently close due to the covid -19 pandemic. I have never been to this restaurant but from online reviews it was very popular. So sad for the owners and the staff. With every good wish to you all for the future. Stay safe and God willing happier times ahead.

Food was delicious and the atmosphere is great. The staff are lovely and attentive enough! They have a whole separate vegan menu as well as the main one!

A friend & I gave another friend a surprise party for her 90th birthday here. We invited 14 guests & what a fabulous evening we all had, we opted for a buffet & the choice’s were amazing, the food was delicious, nicely presented, the service could not have been better & the party decorations were fabulous. Very good selections of drinks & it was just so nice. The birthday girl loved every minute of her party. Defiantly recommend Trewithens as a great place to meet, eat, or party.

After what I've heard about the Trewithen I was expecting something a bit more. The food was nice but I have had better. Staff were friendly.

My wife and a close friend stopped here for lunch whilst on Holiday. I picked it because of the good reviews on Tripadvisor. We all had an excellent lunch. I especially enjoyed the fresh mussels with chips. Some of the best I've ever had. We all loved our meals and desserts - (Sticky ginger pudding with toffee sauce). The staff were very friendly. We will be back next May!

Amazing service, brilliant food and extremely friendly waiters. Vegetarian and vegan options, I recommend.Nothing was too much trouble, the food was excellent and the whole experience a joy. Even had toys and play area for our grandchildren. I will certainly be returning soon. We were a party of 27 adults plus 5 children who overbooked our requirements.

One of my favourite restaurants this year. Has a real homely feel and the food was delicious. Most certainly worthy of 5 stars. If you are a real ale drinker, give the elderflower ale a go. You won't be disappointed!

We visited on holiday having previously eaten at sister restaurant. The bistro is a lovely and warm environment, decor warm and relaxing. Dog friendly. Tapas lovely, we are not overly familiar with Tapas but waiting staff very helpful. Food was delicious, beef melted in your mouth, very filling. Menu accommodating for gluten free also.Would definitely visit again, they also serve lunch and breakfast which look fab!!

Lovely meal and my fav restaurant in the area

As it was Carnival Week in Lostwithiel whilst we were here, we wandered through the town and came across Trewithen a Restaurant. However, across the road, was Trewithen Bar and Bistro which served Spanish Tapas and so we decided to eat there on our first night. Really enjoyed it so much that on Carnival night we ate there again. The food was excellent and very good value, with there being a very nice atmosphere to the restaurant. The staff were extremely pleasant and we had a chance to talk to the owner who was also the chef. We told him how much we had enjoyed the experience.Well worth a visit.

We went to celebrate our birthday and were hugely impressed. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food was great - authentic tapas at reasonable prices.

We only discovered this Bistro and Tapas bar on the last day of our three day stay in Lostwithiel in June 2019. If only we had found it on the first day! Whether you only want a pot of afternoon tea or a lovely evening with interesting and tasty food this is the place. Great service, very friendly and helpful owner. Great value for money too.

The attention and service was excellent. Food was second to none with an extensive choice (as a vegetarian I’m not used to lots of choice). The non-veg menu gave a great choice too. Very tasty.

We decided to try the Bistro for tapas. We had a meat platter and several small bowls of tapas. The flavours were really good, the service was friendly and attentive and the price reasonable. Just what we wanted! Would definitely return and recommend to others.

Amazing hospitality, went there with my girlfriend who is vegan and I have many allergies. They were extremely accommodating and friendly!! Lovely place. 5 Stars!

Visited often and never disappointed

Went to Trewithen restaurant for a special occasion meal with my partner. Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The menu is incredible with so many things I would like to have had. My partner ordered the grilled Hake while I opted for the fillet steak which, while I may not be the most traveled food critic, ended up being the nicest meal I've ever had the pleasure of consuming! Portion sizes were great, we both left feeling full but not uncomfortably so. All in all, the only issue we had on our entire night was that it took a little while to find a parking space nearby. Definitely recommend 👍👍 (P.S. sorry for the poor lighting in the photo of my main, didn't want to use the flash!)

This classy bar with it's relaxed atmosphere and delicious tapas was a real highlight of our short break in Lostwithiel. Amongst the olde-worldy pubs and country cottage themed cafes this place stood out for all the right reasons and my wife and I enjoyed a quiet drink here along with some of their vegan tapas. The tapas was beautifully presented and was no small finicky portion as can be found in city bars of the same style. Stylish, great staff with a friendly approach and would definitely revisit on our return!

Very nice food & relaxed atmosphere

Excellent food, fairly priced and amazing service. We took our 16 month old toddler in with us who threw a tantrum mid meal. The owner and waiter couldn't of been more friendly and understanding and turned it into a really great experience.

It's our 3rd visit to Trewithen restaurant this year. It's almost a year since the new owners took over. It's looking great, newly decorated keeping a warm cosy feel in a 400 year old building. Taking my mum and dad for the first time 5 of us in total. Everytime we are now in the Cornwall area we go. This time as always superb food and great service. All 5 of us agree, Faultless. My only regret was, I was too full for desert. Looking forward to coming back very soon. Thanks for another great evening.

This was actually our second choice of restaurant for the evening but the first fell through. This is how we discovered this absolute gem of a restaurant. Even though it was busy, the staff always has time for us which makes a huge difference from most other restaurants. The food was wonderful and the recommended wine was spot on.
