Comyn Farm in North Devon

This was our sixth visit and the food and service were spot on as they always are. We had beef and pork which were lovely, with the best roasties and veg around, followed by Martin's delicious pavlova. We don't get here often but last year we had our wedding reception here, we came back two days later to eat and then again on our first anniversary. I think that says it all.

What an amazing Sunday lunch!! From the get go we were made to feel at home Nothing was rushed or too much trouble The food was piping hot with a generous amount of meat ,sides and wonderful selection of vegetables Lovely selection of puddings and our choices of apple crumble and a fresh fruit pavlova were delicious Thank you to all concerned in making our Anniversary treat very special

We had a great Sunday lunch at Comyn Farm after googling “best place for a roast near Ifracombe” and we weren’t disappointed! The food was fantastic and plentiful and the staff/owners were lovely. We would highly recommend booking a Sunday roast here and if we are ever in the area again we wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Been meaning to visit Comyn Farm for a very long time as living local to it, just never got there until today and im so glad we did. It was amazing, when we turned up it was raining cats and dogs, once in the building we had a friendly, warm, cosy welcome, we decided to skip starter as wanted dessert, the roast of the day was Beef or Pork however, you can have a bit of each, both meats were amazing, all the trimmings, so much food i didnt think id fit in a pud but hubby always tells me its another belly lol, hubby had Eaton Mess which looked delicious, i had Apple Crumble and custard, so glad i did. Service was top class from start to finish. If you are lucky enough to be staying at Hele Valley Holiday Park all you have to do is walk through adjoining gate leading straight to Comyn Farm. Treat yourselves it’s well worth it.

We had the best Sunday lunch visit to Martin and Lisa’s at Comyn Farm whilst on holiday in Devon. The food, service and setting were all amazing. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived and Nelson was guarding our table! Had a great local beer on draught and the food was lovely and one of the best Sunday lunches we have ever had. Nice to hear where it was grown and I am glad I didn’t have breakfast as there was so much! It was clearly a family affair, with everyone involved, which it made it even more special and endearing. Had a final surprise when the bill came and I could believe what value for money the whole experience was. Would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good traditional Sunday lunch in an amazing setting with a great family.

We had Sunday roast what a blast the food the atmosphere was the best. After dinner waiting for our taxi we sat in the lovely gardens. We will be back. Forget the ivy in London this is tops.

This place is an absolute gem. - The produce - The people - The portions - The home brewed ale Faultless. This is a perfect example of the best of British. You feel like part of the family. We have eaten at alot of highly rated restaurants. This as a whole is honestly difficult to beat. Don't take my word for it, go try it be for yourself. You won't regret it!

This is a truly special and unique place. The atmosphere is incredible, so unbelievably cosy and homely and the food is amazing - the best roast dinner I’ve ever had. The desserts (the pavlova in particular) are amazing too. An absolute must if you’re staying at Hele Valley - highly recommend booking in advance. We absolutely loved our visit to, we will remember it forever. Bonus points for being super dog friendly too! We had no plans to come back to this area but now feel like we need to just so we can come to Comyn Farm again!

Unique and extraordinarily friendly, this restaurant seems effortlessly to provide memorable meals with brilliant service and an utterly authentic farmer's kitchen environment . The place also has an excellent wine list and all is provided at a very reasonable price. Without a car it's a good old walk from the town of Ilfracombe but it is certainly worth it (and there is plenty of parking). I will remember this meal and the experience for many years yet.

I seriously could not fault any aspect of our visit to Comyns Farm. A lovely warm welcome on arrival - a relaxed, informal atmosphere in the farmhouse dining area - absolutely fantastic food - melt in the mouth meat, a superb and eclectic range of vegetables, crunchy roast potatoes and gravy that had real flavour and home-made puddings to finish off! Add to that the friendly, personal service and good banter with the owners/other family members and you have the makings of the perfect meal. The whole afternoon was delightful and such good value. Just has the most amazing Sunday roast lunch hosted brilliantly by Martin & Lisa. We decided to go to celebrate a special family birthday and we weren’t disappointed! The food was awesome, tender roast beef, melt in the mouth pork and a fabulous selection of veggies, some fresh from their garden. Puddings were equally amazing, home made and delicious! I organised a breakfast for around 35 people, the day after my sisters wedding. Lisa communicated prior to the breakfast numerous times and was very accommodating. The food was perfect and plenty of it!!! Everyone left full and all complimented the delicious food especially thw sausages!!! 100% recommend

As we were a large group of 13 people, Comyn Farm agreed to open for us on a Saturday evening, for a private 3 course meal. They produced the most amazing roast dinner! Beautifully cooked beef and pork (plus a chicken breast available too). Endless different vegetables and sides including roast potatoes, carrots, peas, beetroot, cauliflower cheese, cauliflower, broccoli, marrow & courgette, creamy leeks, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, pigs in blankets and lashings of gravy. It just kept coming out of the kitchen! Great starters and desserts too. The evening was hosted by Lisa, who looked after us all brilliantly. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and we had a lovely evening. Thank you so much!

Spending a week in Ilfracombe, we looked for somewhere well rated for a Sunday Roast. Checking out TA and seeing all the great reviews and recommendations about Comyn Farm, we booked. From our arrival through to the end of our meal, service was excellent, staff all so very friendly. Loved the cosy, comfortable ambiance about the place! As for the roast, it really was amazing!! My husband and I both agreed it was up there with the best we've had. All home grown/sourced food. Plenty of vegetables and meat. The choice of desserts were too tempting to refuse, so homemade apple & blackberry crumble & custard and eton mess followed. Again, delicious! Anyone looking for a Sunday dinner in the area, don't look any further, this is your place. Huge thanks to all the staff for a wonderful meal.
